Inspiration Of The Decade Throughout history, African Americans faced daily inequalities through all aspects including, income inequality, educational segregation and civil right challenges. The daily struggles only continued to get worse, as whites realized they were in charge, and that African Americans were not fighting back. In order, to set things right, they decided to do otherwise; it was through the works of Martin Luther King Jr., that made history and shaped parts of the African American community.
