Bernie Sanders encouraged the progressive youth movement by getting the young college students to go out and vote, with grassroots and social media. Bernie Sanders was able to get the young college students to get involved. The youth movement with Bernie Sanders’ leadership became more active all across the states. Bernie Sanders is an independent United States Senator from the state of Vermont. When he ran for president in 2016 he switched parties and became a democrat. Although he didn't win the nomination for president, he gained a lot of support among young college students. One of the ways that Bernie gained support from the progressive youth movement was his grassroots message.
During his presidential campaign, he utilized the

While attending the University of Chicago, he became a part of the Congress of Racial Inequality (CORE). Sanders actually took part in a sit-in against the separation of off-campus housing. Sanders started his Political career as the Senator of Burlington, Vermont in 1981. With the support of the Progressive Coalition, he was elected mayor of Burlington later on that year, winning by just 12 votes. After being reelected as mayor 3 more times, he was a self proclaimed "democratic socialist". Sanders became a part of the U.S. House of Representatives in 1990. Through this title, he vocalized his opinions on various matters. He often times
Senator Bernie Sanders is primarily a democrat but has socialist ideologies. Sanders holds a strong stance on “Shrinking the American middle class” (Sanders, 2017) and increasing income for middle class families by taxing the rich and spreading the wealth. Sanders deals in national politics that affect laws, amendments, and rights. He sponsors and cosponsors bills that he believes will help Americans.
Bernie Sanders is a senator, politician, and political activist. He has held several different political offices including Mayor of Burlington, Vermont, and a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Economically, Sanders describes himself as a democratic socialist. Throughout his political career, Sanders has considered himself an independent, but during the 2016 presidential election, he ran as a democratic candidate. According to several polls, Bernie Sanders was considered the most popular senator in 2015 and 2016. Even after losing the 2016 presidential election, he encouraged his supporters to continue the "political revolution" that his campaign started in the country.
Bernie various actions throughout his campaign has made him achieve his purpose of getting more young people involved. His long history in congress and the policies he has supported builds him trust and makes him someone worth listening to. The hashtag #feeltheburn has helped him manage his audience emotions directing it to fuel his campaign. He acknowledges the fact that young people have the fewest votes and tries to change it, a reason he has gained so much support from them. His large rallies are a reflection of the amount of support he receives on twitter. I believe Bernie Sanders was able to effectively appeal to younger voters using social media as a platform for bringing people together for rallies, speeches, and conversations.

Bernie Sanders, a Democratic candidate in the Presidential election, announced his campaign in his hometown of Burlington, Vermont. It was a very unusual setting: though it was a rally, it was seen more as a festival, with free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and performances by the local Vermont-based band, Mango Jam. In his 35-minute speech given at the rally, Sander’s focused on campaigning without the help of billionaires and Super PACs, going against what most of his opponents were doing. He launched his campaign with the hope of creating a “political revolution to transform [this] country economically, politically, socially and environmentally” (Sanders). In explaining his ideals on how he would bring about this political revolution, Bernie Sanders
Those who say that Bernie Sanders is now irrelevant are absolutely wrong. He is still a Senator which means he still represents the great State of Vermont. As an Independent, he through his career he angered many with his criticism of both political parties. He didn't always agree with the views of either party on a number of issues.
Bernie Sanders is socialist but is written down as a independent which is a big turnoff for most people. When people think of socialist they think of Lenin, Castro, and Stalin who were not the most pleasant of people. Sanders totally different then all of them though. First off he’s Jewish and these people don't seem Jewish. Second off he has not killed anybody like the people listed. And third is he has modern and past democratic views. He is a supporter of gay marriage and abortion which is modern democratic views. He wants the minimum wage raised which has been an ongoing fight for many years with republicans and democrats fighting over it. One more thing he's done is trying to reach out to our younger generation who is voting for the first time. In a New York Times article entitled “The Socialist Senator”, he visited South Burlington High School where he answer some question to some 6o kids. This is what you want in a president, who speaks at schools and answer question for them. In another New York Times Article, he states, “Doctors have told me about patients who died because they put off their medical visits until it was too late”(Sanders, 3). This proves a point that he does not want people to die. Now we can disagree that Sanders should or should not be president but what we can most definitely agree on is we don't want people to
Time magazine shows how much popularity and support Sanders has received (“The Gospel” 34). A politician who is not afraid to stand up for what he or she trusts will make this nation grow for the future. Bernie Sanders shows this nation that if freedom and equality is given regardless of what color skin you are, where you come from, or how much money and power you have, will make a better

Opponents of Bernie Sanders have been trying to say that he is not committed to minority issues. However, there is a video that debunks those claims. The video was shot in 1963 at a civil rights protest in Chicago. The people were protesting against the racism in the University of Chicago's housing program. Bernie was arrested at the protest.
Sanders is slowly leading the polls while Hillary Clinton’s lead of an average of 10 is decreasing causing Bernie to slowly creep ahead. His economic plan consists of fighting the increase in wealth inequality by increasing taxes of the wealthy, breaking up companies that are “too big to fail”, and vetoing the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Bernie’s environmental plan is to back renewable energy and turn away from the use of fossil fuels. He also believes in letting nuclear factories cover their own disaster costs and repealing the Price-Anderson Act, taxpayers paying for major nuclear accidents. Bernie also calls for transparency in campaign finances and banning U.S. companies controlled by foreign interest from lobbing, also called the DISCLOSE Act. Bernie also opposes single ownership of media outlets, letting the news operate on a grander scheme and with less bias in it. Bernie’s political view of warfare is a conservative one, he strongly believe in political attempts at peace and only believes in the use of the military as a final option. Opposing military action against ISIS he believes the US should support the defending nations but not directly attacking ISIS. Condemning the actions of the Paris attacks he warns against “Islamophobia” saying racism of this sort will just further the
World War I was a time of constant worry because of destruction caused to the European countryside. Ernest Hemingway depicts an American ambulance driver working for the Italian army through the Great War in the semi-autobiographical A Farewell to Arms, incorporating elements of his own experience in the war into that of his narrator Fredric Henry. At the beginning of Chapter Twenty-One, death and destruction is mentioned only before a one-sided conversation with a British major that leaves Henry bored. This passage also portrays Hemingway’s dark but witty style through his discursive and wistful tone, varied figures of speech, and repetitive and violent diction to indicate the uncertainty of his narrator’s situation.
All human expression can be broken down into four basic emotions- happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. Of these emotions, none can contest with the influential effects of fear. Throughout history, we have seen the devastating impacts of fear in slavery, Stalin’s brutal reign over Russia, and most significantly, the Nazi party. Fear has constantly been shown to possess and control people to engender dire consequences, much like it does in Alan Paton’s novel Cry, the Beloved Country. In his novel, Paton examines the negative impacts of fear, namely prejudice and corruption. Set in South Africa, the main character, reverend Stephen Kumalo, observes the stark contrast between his poor village and the cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg. Throughout the story, he unearths the changes occurring in South Africa as a result of escalating racial tensions. His journey brings him to an understanding of the harsh struggle of his fellow Africans, and he too begins to experience the growing fear. Paton explicates that eradication of fear is of utmost importance in fashioning a unified country, and if we fail to set aside our fears, we must forever bear the scars of prejudice and corruption.
