Too many people take for granted, privileges that are not retained by everybody and I believe they may lead unhappy lives because of this.
A surplus of average high schoolers could probably talk the entire day about how miserable their lives are. These are kids who have all the privileges somebody could ask for in the world, yet they have a difficult time finding purpose in their lives.
The privileges that people should be thankful for are being taken for granted every day. When everything is expected and nobody shows thankfulness for anything the components that should bring happiness lose value.
There are some people who were born without these privileges, but even with their unfortunate events they find happiness. This is due to
Sadly, we live in a society where not all individuals are given the same opportunities and rights as others. Just like Individuals tend to be split groups of passing and privilege it also coincides with the oppressed groups and privileged groups. Oppressed groups tend to be denied values such as equal rights or opportunities because of their culture.
Far too often in our selfish-minded culture, we forget to be thankful for the many blessings we have. There is a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table, and I've never gone hungry. I'm thankful that I am homeschooled; I do not have to deal with bullies at school and I am able to have a more flexible schedule so that I have an increased amount of free time to spend with family. I am also thankful for my little sister and my parents who care for me and work hard to provide me with everything I need and want. In addition, I feel grateful for my artistic and musical talent. However, most of all, I am deeply grateful for my entire family, the warmth, love, and companionship they bring, and my relationship with
Having privileges such as the ones listed above allows me to continue an uninterrupted "normality" of a life. There is no true definition of a normal life; but I can proceed from one task to another without interference, harassment, disparaging comments or fear of physical harm due to race, sexual or religious preference. This allows me to be challenged and pursue goals with unhampered enthusiasm.
As we are progressing through time, inequality in our society is becoming less evident. In this technological society, we seem to think that nobody is being treated rationally or unequally but this is our misconception. The people who think that there is no more inequality in the society are the fortunate people who have got everything on a silver plate without having to fight for it. People who bring up the matters of inequality are the ones who are facing the same. Inequality can be applied to many circumstances such as gender, race, money and to name a few. Despite of facing inequality, people still manage to become a great person in life. One who wants to achieve something in life will do anything in order to achieve it, no matter how many obstacles one has to face in order to do that.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and people all over America are preparing for meals that will feed the entire family. Trying to pick out the right food and the best desserts can be hectic. Planning for the Thanksgiving dinner would be much easier if we had the perfect recipes everyone would enjoy.

Throughout my entire life I have been told that life is not fair. I have been told that some people have the luxury of living a healthy and successful life, while others must endure the struggles of being poor, sick, or unhappy. This concept was nearly impossible for me to grasp at a young age. As far as I knew, everyone lived the safe, fun, and exciting life that I had been accustomed to. It was not until my father and I were given the opportunity feeding the homeless citizens of Detroit that I was able to amply understand the extent of unfairness that accompanies life.
As long as humans are born into positions which enhance or diminish their individual abilities to exercise rights in free pursuit of their desires, a fundamental inequality of liberty persists. Civil rights, comprising basic freedoms of speech, property, and contract, are often misunderstood as being power-agnostic and the shared rights of humans in society, but the power of those rights is drastically affected by the social and economic power of the person who wields them. Furthermore, the capitalist class system and the unequal exercise of rights are mutually reinforcing. The existence of vast status differences between capitalists and workers makes the conferring of nominally equal liberal rights inherently unequal, and the unequal ability to exercise those rights cements the class system in place. This is true of any number of dichotomous or multidimensional power imbalances between individuals or groups such as race, gender, or culture. Human beings also vary vastly in their innate personal characteristics. These characteristics include not only a spectrum of physical abilities and requirements, but also a diversity of values and desires which go far beyond the liberal economic ideal of maximization (Sen 20). There are therefore many ways in
Everyone has different plans on Thanksgiving, some families travel, others relax. It’s always nice to know how other people celebrate the holiday. Asking about 10 other students what they did on Thanksgiving and traditions, this is what was collected. I found out that not all families have the same kind of Thanksgiving, separating from culture to activities.
For those in poverty, the word “privilege” means having access to clean drinking water, having food to eat, being employed, having functional clothes, etc. These are not only privileges, but they are needed for human survival. However, what is considered privilege today is not a matter of survival needs, they are rather wants. Wants are things that entertain and satisfy us, things such as the new iPhones, new tablets, new computers, new clothing line, and any other exclusive things that are not needed for survival. In some parts of the world there are a lack of toilets, bathrooms, or even toilet paper for that matter. Food is worked for rather than bought, and everything is self-taught and self-serviced. Transportation is by foot rather than any transportation vehicle or even a bicycle for that matter. Today, these
I would like to take time to say thank you; I greatly appreciate your time and patience. I entered English 101 not knowing what to expect, but that’s life, not knowing until you get a chance to know someone or something. I took English 101 after I finished English 100 and I must say it’s a major difference with the aspect I've learned. I had a tough time in English 100 with writing since I didn't know what to write on paper even though I had numerous ideas in my head. I came a long way and practice makes perfect but in reality no one’s perfect, so now that English 101 became a part of my study, it gave me additional confidence in myself and what I'm capable of doing.
Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year. My mom Aunt and grandma rotate through the years. My aunt Heather and her family aren’t usually able to come for thanksgiving sense they live in Texas.

On the fourth Thursday of every November, we celebrate Thanksgiving at my grandma’s house. Thanksgiving is a day where we celebrate and get together and say thanks for everything we have and what we get to do that some people can’t. We make food and we talk and gather around and we also play around with each other.
Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks to your life and everyone and everything in it. Thanksgiving is thought of in different ways and is celebrated in unlike ways. Families have divergent meals, places that they visit on Thanksgiving, and activities that they enjoy taking part in on Thanksgiving. Overall, no matter what traditions there are, what meals you have, or the activities enjoyed on Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving is truly a wonderful holiday.
