Did you know the Andean Condor is the biggest bird in the world? It's up to 10.5 feet (3.2m). These birds like to live in windy areas so they can glide in the air with little effort. Are you wondering, so they don't even have to try, well you're right! Did you know they are mostly black? But males have a white collar around their neck. Now let's go and learn about the smallest bird in the world.
Now we are in the nest of the smallest bird in the world! There are a lot of small birds. But the smallest bird in the world is the bee hummingbird. It's called the bee humming bird because it's the size of a bee and it is a hummingbird. It's really small! And guess what the bee hummingbird is still living! Maybe one day you might be able to see it. Now let's go and fly to places where most birds live.
Now we are here. Where you ask? The bee humming birds nest. Did you know the bee humming bird lives in a Island called Cuba. The Island Cuba is a very large Island. The Australian King Parrot puts their nest in a deep hollow in a tree trunk that is 10m off the ground. The female will lay her eggs in the hole on decayed wood-dust at 0.5m off the ground.
The Cardinal, also known as the redbird and the Virginia nightingale, is about eight inches long, a little smaller than a robin. They have perching feet to help support them when they are sitting in the trees. Their throat and area around the base of the bill is black and they have a seed eating beak. Ruby throated hummingbirds have a lot of potentials in them. They have a lot of adaptations but don’t have much predators. Their only predators are humans and seasons. Winter and Fall because it gets too cold they will die. Humans might shoot them an accident.
Did you know the ringneck pheasant doesn't like to fly even though it is a bird? Weird, right? They have such short wings that set them apart from other birds. I can tell you more about the ringneck pheasant, like their characteristics and habitat. Their origin and diet are also things I am familiar with.
Birds have fascinated people for years. Whether it's their striking color, lovely songs, care for their young, or ( most often ) their ability to fly. Not all birds however fall into each one of these catergories. One species, for example, are the owls. Owls are not the brightest color and don't have as lovely songs as a canary. They are different from many birds including other birds of prey. To look at all these wonderful owls would take more than a few pages so we will look at one, the Barn Owl.
The Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte Anna) is a green and grey ball of feathers with the agility of a fighter pilot. They can hover, fly backwards, and even upside down for a short time. They are a medium sized species with the males sporting an iridescent ruby red throat patch and the females sport a lovely iridescent green and grey. They are stocky for a hummingbird, and are better suited for Northern climates. They range from western North America to Baja California, from the southern tip of Alaska to southern California. The males can even sing, but it sounds more like high-pitched little squeaks and screeches. They are most often found in forests, backyards, fields, and open woodland areas.
- Hyacinth Macaws. It is about 3.3 ft in length from the top of its head to the tip of its tail, so it is longer than any other species of parrot. Not only is It the largest macaw species, it is also the largest flying parrot species. It is considered endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List. It is also protected by its listing on Appendix I of the CITES.
The smallest species is the tiny elf owl, measuring about 6 inches long, that live in western Mexico and the Southwestern United States. The largest species is the great gray owl that lives deep in woods of Alaska and Canada as far north as trees grow. Gray owls grow to about 30 inches long. Now that I have provided general information about the owl it brings me to the part where I talk about their role in the environment especially in Sequoia National Forest.
Not only is the Vespa Madarinia the largest species of hornet in the world, but they are also the largest of them in the world! A majority of queens reach up to 5 centimeters which are
Banquo, a noble and honest man, was also killed at the orders of Macbeth. Although, the depth of Macduff’s loyalty to Banquo is not very clear, Banquo’s murder is part of the reason he fought vehemently against Macbeth. Macbeth saw Banquo as the man “which would be feared” (Shakespeare 88) for he seems to be faultless. Banquo is inquisitive, brave, honorable, willing to take risks or “dares” but also knows when to play things safe. A seemingly perfect person like Banquo is undoubtedly troublesome to a flawed being like Macbeth, for they bring righteousness with them which signals the flawed one’s downfall. Macbeth says to the murders that Banquo’s existence “thrusts/Against my near’st of life”(Shakespeare 92). Banquo’s existence proves to be
Bee species in the United States and around the world are being put on the endangered species list. Bees are a very important part of our food supply and everyday lives. Bees do more than you think, and there are several reasons to why they are going extinct.
Hummingbirds include the smallest birds in the world, but they belong to one of the largest group of birds, the Trochilidae family. These enchanting birds are found in deserts, mountains, and plains, but most live in tropical rainforests. Their name refers to the humming sound made by their tiny, beating wings; each species creates a different humming sound, depending on the speed of its wing beats. In the Caribbean, people call the hummingbird el zunzun. These energetic dynamos have been around for ages; hummingbird fossils found in Germany are said to be more than 30 million years old.

In 1995, I burst into tears in entrance ceremony of primary school in China. I was the only one in school who was not granted a red scarf. As a seven-year-old, I thought it was the red scarf that divided me from others. I badgered the school principal until I was finally allowed to be the first foreign student in school who owned a red scarf, only to find out that wearing a red scarf to school made little difference. Ever since, my identity has roamed somewhere between an insider and an outsider. Only later did I realize that this would be one of my biggest traits to study China and its neighboring nations as a Korean.
