I am striving to have many educational honors in high school and I plan on expanding that accomplishment in college. I take pride in all my work and always strive to be the best I can. Although being successful in school is a challenge, I have faced struggles along the way. I have had to learn how to balance a wide variety of things. Sports, clubs, volunteer work, family time, and a job have all been extras, to go along, with AP and dual credit classes. I have been able to make time for all these things and be successful in them. In the future, I would like to major in something I enjoy before I go to grad school. I have been thinking about majoring in accounting, social work, or kinesiology. I would love to be able to study abroad for a year
College opens up many different doors that can help you to your career path. There are many things that I would like to achieve while being in college. One thing I would like to achieve while in college is to become more independent. This is important to me because I won’t have the need to depend on anyone but myself and it will also help me mature. Some ways that could help me be independent is to believe in myself, have better decision making skills, and have a better self-esteem. Another thing that I would like to achieve is to be successful, I know that it will be hard and a lot of work but with determination I will be able to do my best. Several ways that I could be successful in college is to have better studying skills, good notes, and
Many people struggle in high school. I’m doing alright, and I’ll tell you why. I’ve decided to focus my essay on what steps and tactics I used to have a good high school experience, things that I also plan to use in college. I’ll sum it all up in 5 steps too. If you think I deserve a scholarship, hey I’ll take it. If not, life goes on.
Although people make high school look fun, there are many things we need in order to have a successful high school experience. For example, you’ll need concentration, time management, and most of all motivation.
In 9th grade I had a vague idea of what high school credits were and I familiarized myself with the education system of America. Later, in 12th grade I realized that had I chosen to take some challenging classes such as Honors or AP classes earlier in high school, my GPA would have increased. But now I feel so proud of myself because I have achieved so many things in just few years. I became fluent in English, adopted the American environment as my own, and not only that I became accomplished in my studies too. I got my RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license just at the age of 16 in my junior year of high school, I interned at a dental office for a research Capstone project which I presented at the end of my high school. I graduated in the distinguished Honor Roll. I was also in top 3% of my graduating class, and I ranked 17 out of 546 students. Finally in my senior year, I was offered admission into Lone Star’s Honors College and was awarded the Lone Star College- North Harris Chancellor’s Fellow Scholarship. There is a lot to expect in this upcoming year. I will be graduating with Associates of Science Honors Degree by the end of 2016 school year. I will be traveling to Italy in spring break for a research project, and will have atleast 12 credits hours of international studies. In this brief journey I achieved a lot and hope to achieve
I know I will be successful in college because of the commitment I have given to my academics, and believe my grades reflect my dedication. For two semesters in a row, I have received a Certificate of Excellence for having a grade point average of 4.0 or higher in both the spring and fall semesters of 2016. In my final term of high school, I am working to achieve that same recognition. Additionally, I feel learning is not just about the time spent in school, but what happens outside the classroom. The diverse extra-curricular activities I have participated in range from athletic teams, to volunteerism, to leadership responsibilities. I pride myself in experiencing a plethora of adventures that have helped me mature as a student, athlete, and
At many state legislature meetings, the issue for driving has been brought up. The citizens of the state legislature want to consider a bill that would require a person to earn a high school diploma before he or she could receive a driver’s license. This may be a good idea to some people, but many disagree with this statement of law enforcement.
Throughout my high school career, I have learned that being successful in school can lead you to many different opportunities. One opportunity that I was given was that I joined my high school's Beta Club Chapter. It was an honor to be invited to join because how involved the Beta Club is with the my school, community, and state. This past year, I was selected to represent my school as I ran a campaign to become the North Carolina Beta Secretary. Although I was nervous, I opened my mouth, and the words just began to come out. My fears went away, and I addressed my peers on the topics of educational improvements and leadership opportunities, so all students can succeed. To my surprise and delight, the two thousand North Carolina Betas in
An obstacle that I have encountered throughout my lifetime, specifically my time in high school, has been pushing myself to be the very best. Even though I feel as though I am very self-motivated, it takes a great deal of effort to actually execute the things that I have been given. For example, we all know how hard it is to avoid procrastination, during high school if you were to ask any one I knew, I would always have my work completed before the deadline. Some may call it overachieving, but when I get a load of work that needs to be completed, I like to get it done immediately or I feel like I have too much on my plate and I’m unable to handle all of it.
Although I graduated with honors, I can honestly say I have some serious academic needs. I am going into college with no real career goals and barely any college preparedness. I am majoring in Art, and that’s something that I have been good with my whole life, so it’s understandable why I would choose this major. I am not sure, however, what I want to do with my artistic skills after college. That is a huge problem because I am devoting my life right now to art, but when the time is up I will not know what I’m doing.
My greatest success was graduating high school. High school was the toughest thing for me to transact throughout my senior year. I had so much going on with my personal life, I began failing my classes. When I started failing my classes, I thought it was all over so I started missing school here and there. Then one day, I talked to one of my favorite teachers and we discussed what was happening. He told me the words I needed just to get by and graduate high school. After that, I started to get on the grind trying to pass my classes. I think this is my greatest success because I was at my worst state. I ended up graduating when I thought I wasn’t going to graduate with my class. One obstacle that I faced was doing my work and turning it in.
People never told me high school was going to bw such a breeze. I have became a very independent person during high school. I always have great friends to rely on. We would alway play sports together. Having these two things are a major key to a successful high school carrer. For rising 8th graders it is important to find a dependable friend and involve yourself in actives.
It is very important to be successful in college. There are many important lessons that I have learned in order to be a successful student in college. First of all, it is very helpful to know which type of a learner you are. For example, I learned that my learning style is Aural. Since I focused on the main strategies, which are taking better notes and being a better learner, my grades improved significantly. I have learned that high school is very different from college for example in my high school, my classes were from 7:30 AM to 2:50 PM and the only break I got was lunch. In college, you will have classes with breaks in between for example on Monday, I have classes from 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM and then I have another class from 2:00 PM to 2:50
Scholars take tremendous amounts of AP classes, participate in various extracurricular activities, and aim for high standardized test scores to increase their chances of admittance by a prestigious university. Time was to be managed carefully.
All throughout school, students are ask what we want to be when we grow up. Many of us know or have a pretty good idea, but others have no clue what they want to pursue as a career in life, whether it be furthering their education at a university or attending a technical school. There are other students that plan to start work right out of high school. Either way we all have a plan, and the purpose of this paper is to inform you of mine. I personally struggle in making big decisions like deciding what to do with my life, but then I realized I have been asking myself the wrong questions. Instead of asking what I want to be when I grow up, I asked myself what do I want out of life? what are some of my goals that I wish to achieve? This led
Never give up no matter how hard it may look the beginning is always the hardest . As a kid growing up in southwest Detroit i was always seen as different i went to a school full of “good” people, i was the one little mexican girl that got picked on because i looked different act different. At age ten i was placed and labeled as a special child i needed extra help and was taken out of class to work with a lady that gave me extra help . As years went on i started to fall behind in reading and spelling. I hated school I wanted to stay home all day i did not like my teachers, and did not like them say i needed help. I never left my house only when i went to school i stayed one day a week for NJHS and that was it. They told me i needed to see a social worker at the age of ten, at the time i did not understand why i needed to talk to her if i seen myself as fine. So I tried my best and got all b’s i got taken out of special classes. I know if i tried my best i could do it and i did. I know if i gave up i would not make it far in life.
