Becoming An Esthetician

Being an Esthetician is extremely rewarding but, it also comes with a great deal of responsibility, most importantly, the safety of your clients, and yourself. Practicing safe procedures and infection control will benefit you most in your career as an esthetician. After I graduate I hope to become a medical esthetician. A medical esthetician differs from the average esthetician you’d find in a salon. They’re usually working in hospitals or burn clinics, but it is not uncommon to find them working for a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. I hope to find work in Ocala, Florida in either a burn clinic or with a dermatologist. Throughout my whole life it has been my passion to help others and to live in Florida. Unfortunately, I do not have the stomach to become a nurse or doctor nor the money to move to Florida, hence why I’m still in Pennsylvania and currently working in a salon. Throughout my research I have discovered the need for this career, educational requirements, the salary and trajectory, and also the living comparison to help my dreams become a reality.

Starting a makeup career depends on whether the artist feels as if they already have the skills necessary to perform well in their field of work. I didn’t understand it at first but then I realized in my late teens that I have a heart for the people. It wasn’t easy to recognize because I had my own dreams and goals I wanted to reach. My thoughts were towards becoming an Orthodontist not a Human Service professional.

Having a license as an esthetician can open many opportunities for you. You can either commute to one location everyday or have the opportunity to travel around the world. The possibilities are endless! Below I will list all the possible places that my license can take me.

Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years.
