Being a veterinarian has many of hoops that I must jump through, such as; having important features that will help you throughout the career, different job duties depending on what field of being a veterinary you choose, the education I will need, challenges with clients, the pets themselves and an abundance of other things. There are also a great deal of benefits of the this job, which makes it all worth it. Becoming a veterinarian is the best job for me, because I love to be around animals and I love helping them in life. There are many important personal features of being a veterinarian. Veterinarians must hold a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine, pass a national licensing examination and meet any other state-specific requirements for licensing or certification. They must complete and participate in a four year Doctor of Medicine (DMV) program. Some of the courses that are in the DMV program are; Animal behavior, Veterinary pharmacology, Animal Nutrition, Clinical Pathology, Large and Small animal medicine, Diagnostic Imaging, Anesthetic and Surgery principles. Veterinarians in training will usually complete rotations of Cardiology, Dentistry, Oncology, and or Equine care. Some of the courses that will prepare them for veterinary school is; Microbiology, Animal Management, Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Nutrition, and Equine Care if I plan to go into the field of equines. To get my veterinary license I must complete a 360 question test, which usually takes about 7.5 hours (Erickson 1). Some states will require other things along with this test. Education is probably one of the toughest parts of being a veterinarian. The schooling and certification takes a great deal of time, which means I must be ready and realize that I will have a lot of schooling to pay off. I have ten animals of my own and three more that I consider my own I have five exotic animals, one livestock or large animal, and seven small animals. I know heaps about animals due to the number of animals that I have of my own and I know how to tell when there is something wrong with them. I also believe that I am good at science and math, even though frequently I might not understand it all completely, I feel like that is a natural skill that complements the career qualifications. I also believe that I have good business skill, such as; typing and math. Plus, I have good social skills. Those are just a couple specific reasons that I believe that my natural skills complement the career
