HOMERUN!!!
By: Aiden Bischoff
Bam!!! The ball slammed into the bat sending vibrations into my arm. I watched as it flew across the yard and hit the the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street.
Me and my family had gone up north to visit my grandparents place during the summer. During that day my dad and my brother brother Allan decided to play baseball. At the time I didn't want to play and I didn't really know how to play, so I just watched them play for a while.
About 5 minutes had passed when my dad caught me off guard and said,
“ Come on Aiden. Come play with us at least once.”
I slowly got up and walked to my dad who gave me the bat they had been playing with. Anxiety flowed through my body as I swung it over my shoulder.

“ Yeah!” I called back still nervous that I was going to fail in front of everyone.
My dad held the ball in his hand ready to throw. He pulled his arm back and threw it forwards. The ball came towards me with alarming speed. Thinking it was going to hit me in front of everyone I swung. Bam!!! The ball slammed into the bat sending vibrations into my arm. I watched as it flew across the yard and hit the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. Homerun! I thought excitedly.
“Homerun!” I said aloud this time. Not even caring I dropped the bat and ran to all three bases and back to home.
“WOOOO!!!” I yelled with joy as my dad ran across the street. Soon he came back with the ball to congratulate me.
“That was amazing!” he said.
“Great job!” my mom called to

Which then made me realize how much family will care for you no matter what you do and things aren't really as bad as they seem. Because life's too short to waste it on worrying about the bad things that could happen. Why not think about all the good things that could come out of it. Because when things seem bad they tend to turn out ok. So try new things and don't be nervous. Cause in life sometimes things really aren't as bad as they seem. Take this time I hit a homerun an example of
I walked up to home plate nervous because my grandfather was in the stands watching for the first time, but I took a deep breath, tightened my grip on the bat, and stepped into the batter’s box. The pitcher looked at me and smiled he had to think I was going to be easy, but I wasn’t going to give in without fight. He took a quick glance at the runner on second, and boom the fast ball came in so fast I didn’t even know he threw it. Now I was shaking. The pitcher had the upper hand, but I looked at my dad who with his eyes said to me “you can do this” so once again I took a deep breath, tightened my grip, and stepped back into the batter’s box. The pitcher throws the ball hard as I load up and swing hard, but the ball curves
A real life person that feels the same as Stacey is Rosa Parks, because she stood up for what she thought is right and so does Stacey. This was my thought on who the most courageous character from the novel is and I hope you will agree with me, now i gotta get back to the field.
I was playing center field waiting for those flying balls to come straight at me so I could catch them to get the players out. The girl that was batting hit the ball so hard that it sounded like she broke the bat. The ball was about thirty feet in the air and I shuffled backwards to see if it was going behind me sure enough it was. I sped up my speed to keep in sync with the ball, I put my glove out in front of my face and with a lot of force the ball landed right in the glove. The crowds started to cheer, and so did my team mates. I threw the ball to second base and got the runner out on a double play. The crowds cheered and roared with excitement. The game passed quickly, and we were in the last inning. Our team was the last to bat. The bases were fully loaded. The crowd cheered for a beautiful hit. It was now my turn to bat. My chance to show everyone that I improved. As I was walking my team mate shouted, “You got this, Andre!”. Then all of a sudden everyone started to chant and scream my nick name. This brought tears to my eyes because they all believed in
The tigers have been playing a lot longer than we all have, we lined up, I was the first on to bat. He pitch STRIKE 1, he pitched again, I swung my hardest… and… SMACK the ball kept growing higher and longer HOMERUN!! The crowd went wild! We hit the first point of the game. Next it was Jimmy, Jimmy always hit higher and longer home runs than me. As Jimmy went up to bat, the pitcher pitch and.. SMACK! It went really high and came down right over the fence. The hooper redbirds were in the lead with two home runs and no outs. ¨man this going to be an easy game¨ I said while watching the game next up Johnpaul he was the bet batter and catcher on our team, every home run he gets he gets 5$ from his parents. As he walked up to bat I was thinking ¨we have to win this game so i can stay on the team¨ he pitch BAM! Flew into the outfield and out of the arena!
It was less than a second maybe half a second but it changed everything. I heard the ball hit against my bad with tons of power. Suddenly all I heard was the crowd cheering behind me and my team running up to me. I was dumbfounded did I really just hit a grand slam to win the World Series in the fourteenth inning? Tears rolled down my face as we all knew we just won the World Series for our team that hadn't won since 1908.
We were in the streets of the neighborhood, Ann Elizabeth to be exact. We had just began to play a game of baseball with my brothers new metal bat. Mom had already left for work and my dad was getting ready to leave as well. He was running sort of late. My brother and I were about to start the game, we check around us to make sure no one was near us to play a safe game. We saw our little sister and brother at the front doors neighbor's house playing with their daughter last time we checked. As my brother threw the baseball, I was getting ready to swing then bam! Before I knew it the bat had already crashed into my little brother's head. Let me remind you that this was a metal bat. A metal bat had ran cross my little brother's head. I was so terrified. My little brother was only 4 at that time. I did not know what to do. I held him in my arms. He was still conscious. I was holding my hand over his open wound. He bled a lot. My other brother had ran to let my dad know. My dad came rushing outside,
Then we ran out of the tunnel and I was all hyped and then we ran over to the dugout and got ready then we went on the field and started to stretch. And our pitcher was in the pitching bow warming up his arm. And finally we started to play the game we were up first to bat. And I was batting fourth on the team which means I am clean up hitter in baseball. The first batter on the team Reed walked and the second grounded out to shortstop and reed was out at second but tevon was safe at first. Our third batter Austin hit a single to move up the batter into scoring position. Then I came up and I was so nervous I had the butterflies in my stomach.
I threw the first pitch and 5 minutes later “Strike 3,” the ump said! I was 0-2 with an RBI and I pitched 4 inning shutout. The next day we played at 10:00 and 2:00. I woke up and got ready. We were late to leave.
I told myself, "come on Lina you can do it," next thing I knew it was two strikes and three balls. it's now or never Lina strike three the ball was over the fence and into the street but it was as if it turned around and headed right for me I put my glove up and felt something hard hit my hand I caught the ball but it was already too late the girl already hit a grand slam(she got four people in including herself)my eyes started burning I tried to hold them back some very strange back but I felt something sliding down my cheek I ran into the dugout and I could not stop my feet. I got to my mom I held her like there was no going back, all I felt was a warm body hugging me. I slowly looked up and cried "I don't want to play I disappointed my hole team."
I was on the softball field one day staring at the two other pitchers practicing, and thought to myself, maybe I would be good at that. So when I got home I asked my dad if he could practice pitching with me. My first pitch was fast, but it hit the ground and turned into a ground ball. My second try was slow, and way too high for any person at bat. And it was like that the whole time.
I click my cleats with my bat and dig a hole in the batter's box and stair at the pitcher. The pitch comes in slow almost in slow motion. I swing as hard as can. I hear the crack of the bat and I see the ball fly over the fence. I can't believe it. I never thought in a million years I would ever hit a homerun. I hear my teammates screaming. I round first, I'm almost at second when the shock wears off and I realize that I just won the game. A huge smile crosses my face as I round third and head for home. I get closer and closer to home. I stomp on home. Then before I know it the lights go out.
One day during a baseball game when I was 9 or 10, I remember that it was the last game of the season. It was a pretty long time ago, but I remember it better than most of my other baseball games. This game was against one of the top tier teams in the little league known as the Red Sox, as we tie the game to 4-4. I sat there, sweat running down my head as I see that I needed to bat because I see my teammate on deck. I start looking inside of my bag, as I find my only pair of my baseball gloves. Now this is when I get
I really didn’t want to bat because I was not good at battings at the time. I could hit the ball if I was having a really good day. I still didn’t want to bat but as soon as I got up to the plate I knew that I was ready to play some ball. As soon as the ball hit the bat I could hear a ding from the ball and bat. once I got done I was running my butt off to first base. But all I could hear was my grandma yelling her butt off for me to get to base. Right as I got to first base I knew that I could not get out because if I
After the victory I was still angry with myself. That one at-bat made me realize that I can do better and be a better baseball player. Every day after that game I made my dad do hitting drills with me. I hit the cages every other day until my next season came around which was high school baseball. When it came time for my high school season I led the team in hits and runs batted in. We won the GNC tournament and made it to the state championship; sadly we
It had been an unbelievable season so far, we were going into the championship game of junior league with only two losses. Of course, the only other team with a better record than us was the black team. We gave them their only loss on the second game of the regular season. Now, after defeating the better of the Mosinee teams in the semi finals, my dad, who was also the coach of our blue team, had stopped to watch the rest of the game between black and red.
