Ball is life say the basketball fanatics. I think that statement is utterly false. I think music is life. Actually, piano is life.
Playing since I was six years old, piano was my equivalent to the pop warner football, tee ball, or soccer clubs that my friends joined. It was vital part of my life. The special part of playing to me was that unlike the sports, I am able to express my ideas and feeling through the notes and pieces that I play. When I was in second grade, my school started holding an annual talent show. When it was my time to perform, I shocked the whole school. For a second grader playing piano, I did not sound like a little second grader banging random keys on the piano. From that day, people that did not know me recognized
I’ve always looked at different objects and never connected to them. It wasn’t until I had received a keyboard that I realized that an object could become something more valuable then just inanimate. A piano has become this sentimental thing to me. Playing the piano with my mother has formed a strong bond between us. Every time I play the piano, it makes the bond between my mother and I stronger. Playing and listening to the piano is a comforting outlet. The music is relaxing. It also has taught me something new. Learning to play the piano takes time and practice. You have to learn about its functions to understand how it works. A piano is considered a musical instrument. Nothing special to it besides that fact that it
On a whim in fifth grade, I decided that I wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I had never thought about how important it would become, but it has become a primary part of my life. I think this reason starts with you. You made learning music more entertaining for 10 year olds who don't have the first clue as to what they're doing. Not only did you teach me the fundamentals of it, but you created a love for it through opportunities and encouragement.
Growing up, music has always been a passion of mine. I listened to everything and anything. I would go to jazz concerts, operas, orchestra performances, or to a rock and roll music festival. But that passion bloomed into something more as I grew older. It blossomed into wanting to learn an instrument. I got to seize that opportunity when it came time to attend middle school.
First of all, I have always had a passion for the piano ever since I was around three years old and currently I have started playing the clarinet over the past three years. Music has always been a big factor in my life. I really like playing the piano and the clarinet because there is always a new piece of music and a new challenge in each one.
Through recent and past years, gun laws have been a large area of discussion. Similar to most large areas of discussions, there are multiple opinions concerning gun laws. The United States Constitution’s Second Amendment grants the right for a United States citizen to keep and bear arms. However, many believe that the Second Amendment should be repealed. The varying opinions on both sides of this argument are very challenging to understand in depth. Although, through research, it is possible to explore the reasons on why different members
pt 1: Some students have a background that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you then please share it!
Music has been a part of my life since the beginning. My Grandma Hammond, a music teacher, had me start right off into piano when I turned 7 years old. She has been my music teacher since then. I was taught all genres of music starting from classical to what is popular now. My favorite genres to learn were Jazz and Rock music pieces. I remember when I was the age of 12, I begged her to let me learn and play the song Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen for one of my music festivals. My Grandma disagreed at once about my idea because it was required of the piano students to play a classical piano piece. I was a good student and learned that festival piece, but little did she know I would also teach myself Bohemian Rhapsody and play it after my classical
In the beginning of the second semester in 8th grade, I decided to play the trombone in the jazz band, in addition to playing bass clarinet in the concert band. At one of our band festival competitions with the Association of Christian Schools International, our jazz band won first place and we performed once again at the closing ceremony for the all the schools that attended the festival to hear. But, I decided to stop playing the trombone following that second semester and focus on the bass clarinet. Still to this day, I am one of the two bass clarinet players in my band and I am continuing to enjoy doing it. Playing music has taught me that having a strong work ethic can help you accomplish anything. In addition to that, music has given me a newfound appreciation of many genres of music and to truly admire the work of many
“Teenagers are the most misunderstood people on earth. Treated like children but expected to act like adults”. As a teenager myself, I agree with this saying that adults have been continuously stereotyping us teenagers. Due to this stereotype teens are considered irresponsible, immature, and unreliable.
My life has always been tied to the piano in some shape or form. I can remember the first notes I ever produced. They came from a large Cable upright piano that had sat unused and out of tune for decades. From my early childhood and on my relationship with the piano consisted of nothing more than fleeting encounters. Some days I would sit down and simply play notes I thought sounded nice, but mostly the piano acted as a decoration in my home. It wasn 't until moving to Oklahoma to be with my mother 's family that anything serious developed concerning the piano. I had always been far away from my family, so when I met up with my grandmother we took the time to catch up. She mentioned that my mother used to play the piano quite well. Up until that point I had never given the piano much thought, but I began to think about my mother and all the old piano books she had accumulated from her adolescence. That set in motion my desire to learn how to play and an eventual reappraisal of the way I looked at music and the world around me.
Commonly throughout my everyday life, I find myself to become overwhelmed with schoolwork and responsibilities. However, I use my piano lessons as an escape from this. Music allows me to have an artistic and creative release from these pressures. Like so, I often sit down to play the piano and find that just simply practicing distracts my mind and brings me at ease. The concept of creating beautiful music for others as well as relaxing my own thoughts has a deep impact on my life that no other activity has shown itself to provide.
I started looking forward to Concerts unlike when I played piano in middle school, I didn't feel the stage fright. When I had piano recitals, I would get on stage and see countless eyes studying me with anticipation. I would look from the crowd to the Shiny black and white keyboard with sweaty palms and my heart pounding in my chest. Playing in a band with others does something to for me that playing the piano did not, it gave my voice
The question of whether or not Confucianism is a religion has been explored by many writers. Its religious status has been controversial in intellectual circles since the controversy of the Chinese rites of 17th century. There have been several attempts to define the religious character of Confucianism. The arguments by Matteo Ricci that the church should accommodate ancestor worship by Christians of Chinese origin because he considered it veneration and not a true worship was the beginning of Confucianism as a religious model (Tucker, 1998).
