Azacitidine is a pyrimidine nucleoside analogue of cytidine (Figure 1). Chemotherapy drug used to treat a group of disorders that affect the bone marrow and blood, known as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).It is a pro drug. Once inside the cell it is uptaken by human concentrative nucleoside transporters. It is phosphorylated into monophosphate, di and tri phosphate forms. Azacytidine triphosphate is the active form which is incorporated into RNA. Azacytidine is approved for the treatment of adult patients who are not eligible for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation with intermediate-2 and high-risk MDS, chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) with 10%–29% marrow blasts and without myeloproliferative disorder and AML with 20%–30% blasts and

One in five people in the United States suffered from allergies or asthma symptoms (Allergy Statistics and Facts, webmd.com) . Most people at some point have taken or bought Benadryl to relieve an allergic reaction, itchiness, or for the common cold. In 1943, George Rieveschl discovered diphenhydramine while researching muscle relaxers. Eventually, Rieveschl changed the name of the antihistamine relief drug from diphenhydramine into Benadryl. Benadryl is now a common household name, that has various uses, ways to be taken, and side effects.
Acetaminophen has been used for decades. In 1947 it was able to be bought by prescription only. Then in the 1960s it was then changed to be bought over the counter. When an expecting mother is exposed to codeine, it can cause her unborn child to experience a life threating withdrawal process after birth (7). Codeine is an opiate that is used as an analgesic and cough suppressant (1). It is a depressant, meaning it lowers neurotransmission levels causing messages between the brain and body to be slowed down. It can be used on its own or it can be combined with other drugs (1). It is found in opium but can be synthesized from morphine (3,5). When it is metabolized in the body, it becomes morphine once again (5). Jean-Pierre Robiquet first isolated codeine from opiate poppies in 1832 in France (3). He synthesized the codeine from opiate poppies for medical use (3). It is used in the medical field to provide relief of pain, dry cough, diarrhea, cold, and flu for patients (2).
Seventy percent of the earth’s surface is unknown to its inhabitants; if there is a 70% chance of winning the lottery, would you buy a ticket? I bet you would. Understanding Mars surface came easy compared to our knowledge of the ocean, The Mariana’s Trench is almost seven miles deep, the moon almost a quarter million miles from earth where more men have explored.

Chlorhexidine has been used for over 60 years for multiple purposes, first being used as a disinfectant in the 1950’s to being introduced in 1988 for the first skin preparation combination launched in the United States and then finally approved by the FDA in 2005 for peri-operative preparation. In 2010 the first chlorhexidine needless connectors were introduced, as well as the first impregnated peripheral inserted central catheter was cleared as an antimicrobial catheter. Over that period it has proven its broad-spectrum efficacy and safety. It has been used in preoperative patient for prevention of nosocomial infections during
There are some positives associated with the THC compound. The positives are far-reaching and long-term. This is due to the way Marijuana effects the Autonomic Nervous System. It expands the breathing and calms the body. It has a huge potential for medical and healing purposes worldwide. There were a lot of speculations about developing Lung Cancer if you were a Marijuana smoker. A study performed by Dr. Tashkin proved the people that believed this wrong. The study consisted of rats being injected with Cannabinoids. The Cannabinoids were injected into rats that had deadly tumors on them. When injected with the Cannabinoids, it was seen that the chemical had inhibited the growth of the tumor on the rats. The cannabinoids were showing to be able
Zolpidem is a short-term medicinal treatment for insomnia that can be prescribed and is effective in initiating sleep in the consumer (Verster et al., 2002). It also appears to offer a temporary but effective relief of symptoms of aphasia, a collective term for a range of language disorders present in some survivors of strokes, and current research is implying that its presence in the body may bring consciousness to people in vegetative states (Interlandi, 2011). However, there are several negative effects such as uncomfortable side effects, withdrawal symptoms if dependency on the drug occurs, dangerously impaired driving ability the day after dosage and it is an effective, legal and easily obtainable “date rape” drug (Monti et al., 1994).
Histamines are produced not only when nutritional problems result in acidosis but also any time when cow is stressed. Cows can be stressed by their environment, by poor handling by people, and by overcrowding. Heifers also can get stressed when they are put on concrete floor after being on pasture. Mastitis, foot rot and metritis can also lead to release of histamine (M. Ondarza 2001, August 9).
In the world today, Ernest Hemingway is known as one of the great classic writers, but this wasn’t always true. Hemingway had already published two books before he finally became well liked with the publish of his book The Sun Also Rises, a novel detailing a group of Americans as they travel to Spain and the struggles they face inwardly. It is a book that is rife with different themes and symbolism, as well as significant to Hemingway’s life and one that speaks of life in the 20’s and what was or was not morally acceptable at the time, particularly concerning gender roles.
Growing up, I was just like the average child, one week I would say I wanted to be a doctor and the next I would say I wanted to be lawyer and then two days later, I would say I wanted to be an astronaut. All of this changed when I was in the sixth grade. I watched the movie "Harriet The Spy" for the first time and I was so intrigued. I remember saying,"This girl is pretending and she looks like she's having so much fun." From then on, I wanted to be an actress, but I didn't tell anyone. I thought people would make fun of me or say I wasn't good enough. This was a constant trepidation, so when people asked me what I wanted to be when I "grow up", I would say,"I don't know", and quickly change the subject. This went on for years, I would lie and say I didn't know what I wanted to be, when that was the farthest from the truth. I knew I wanted to be an actress. I stopped watching tv for entertainment and started watching so I could observe the actors. I would watch their movements and facial expressions, and I would even write down what they were saying and redo the scene how I thought it should be done.
