“Not again Davin!” I heard that phrase, from my Dad, so many times when I was a child. When I was younger I loved taking things apart to see how they worked, I loved making things with my hands and exploring every toy I got for my birthday. I would get lego sets for Christmas and be done building them in half an hour, without the instructions. In middle and elementary school, I would do origami in class to help me concentrate, and in high school I started taking autos because I love learning hands on. Taking automotive tech led me to realize my love for cars. I want to do anything with cars, but after doing a little research I realized just becoming an automotive tech wouldn’t be the best career path. I learned about University of Illinois’ world-renowned engineering programs and realized if I got a degree in mechanical engineering I …show more content…
Which included my passion for cars. With a degree in mechanical engineering I could become part of an automotive company like Porsche; fine tuning beautiful exhaust notes, or building an engine that maximizes fuel economy and horsepower. I could build drive trains, chassis, and find the right springs to put in the suspension to maximize speed
When I decided to become an engineer, I thought hard on what that entailed. I saw myself working on hands on projects with a skill and proficiency that I could truly be proud of. That's why after listening to the presentation for Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology in my freshman year here at Texas A&M I knew that this major was the best fit for me. The mentioning of learning how to manufacture and produce things from conception to finished product was very exciting to me. I also appreciate that the education is very application oriented rather than just teaching theoretical content. I feel that this directly prepares one for a future career in industry and this sense of job security is what really attracted me to this engineering
I currently working as a Level 3 Military Vehicle Mechanic in the Royal Marines, and have experience performing general maintenance to keep the machines functioning properly. Also, I currently hold a RED CPCS card and possess some experience handling mobile cranes, overhead cranes, and recovery vehicles in the Royal Marines, thus I am seeking to join your organization on a reduced salary until I meet the required standards. I can assure you that I will be an asset to this organization since I also hold a C1E driving license and fully LGV trained. I am an extremely quick and dedicated learner, who follows and carries out instructions very effectively. I possess several skills and experience in order to do justice to any position and have a
From a young age, I have been fascinated by making things and learning how they work. My educational experience and community service projects have given me an appreciation for engineering from project managing and constructing my Eagle Scout project to enjoying my chemistry and physic classes. I plan on obtaining a degree in Engineering because I enjoy taking something from conception to production and I am interested in the science and math behind
I established my stance by stating that a mechanical engineering degree is one of the best majors to study. I then laid forth the points of my argument including the basis of my refutatio. This layout gives way to the topical organization of the essay. In my refutation, I refute the largest objection of becoming a mechanical engineer. I address the aspect of large workloads and rigorous coursework throughout college, but then I show how these negative aspects can be overcome and give way to many
Cars are everywhere these days and most people wouldn’t be able to live their daily lives without one. Well, unfortunately nothing lasts forever, so these cars must be worked on and repaired. Do you ever wonder why it takes so long to get your car fixed at a dealership? It takes a lot of skill to properly diagnose and perform repairs on a vehicle, so it can take some time to get it back into your driveway. Therefore, automotive technicians need to be extensively trained to make these kinds of diagnostics and repairs quickly.
One of my anticipated goals would be to increase overall safety of the transportation sector. I believe that an education in mechanical engineering would furnish me with the ability to lead a productive life as well as usher in changes in the commercial automotive industry.
Many people say you should pick something you could see yourself doing for the rest of your life, I think for me becoming an automotive technician would suit me pretty well. There are many different things you can work on other than just cars like dirt bikes and diesel trucks this trade can help you later down the road because if you can be successful doing this then you can do anything because once you can fix a car you can fix basically about everything. First of all, you can expect a pay rate of about $38,470 annually, which translates to between $18 and $19 per hour for being an experienced technician the top 10 can make up to $64,070 or more. They also offer good benefits because while working in the field some technicians may suffer
In automotive we work on teachers cars or anyone that needs to get their car fixed. It is really fun fixing cars and hanging out in the shop. It can be very dangerous as well because there is many ways that you can get injured. Before we were allowed to go inside the shop we had to pass a safety test so that we knew all of the safety and what to do incase of an emergency. We had 2 weeks to finish the test. As of now we are still learning a lot of things about cars. I want to be a mechanic when i grow up. They make a lot of money and it's really fun. Right now we are practicing for a competition where we have to take off an engine apart and build it back together. The competition is on april 1st at rancho cuca gamba. If we take it apart and
your family, you can get through with it. Thinking what you wanted to be when you got older was the hard step. Things started to go smooth when I knew what I was interested on and what I wanted to become.
Becoming a mechanic is something that I have always wanted to do, and something that I plan on becoming. I am going to Grant Career Center to get my ASE certification in automotive mechanics so I can pursue a future in mechanics. The availability of jobs is great with over 39,000 jobs are expected to open up in the next 10 years. It is also a well paying job with the top educated employees taking home over $70,000. There is no schooling required to become a mechanic, however, if you complete more schooling there is a much better chance of landing a job with a higher salary and better benefits. Becoming an automotive mechanic is something that I foresee as being my future career.
Automotive Technicians are the people that repair your cars and keep them running properly for you with no problem. When working in this job you need proper schooling as well you cannot just jump in and work on a car you need proper training. Mechanics have lots of duties on the job in which involves a lot with computers and repairing parts for the client’s car. Mechanics earn a very good salary that continues to grow with the more experience you get in the job. Automotive Technicians is a great career to have because you work with many tools to figure out the problem, you get a good paying job, and you will never have to worry about getting a job because mechanics are needed everywhere.
My father was a mechanical engineer who loved what he did. He would come home with hard drives in his hand and tinker with them as he tried to find ways to make them more efficient. He would show me the miniscule parts that he designed and how they worked. These experiences were not lost on me, as they led me to grow an interest in the sciences and in engineering. Although the interest was there, the motivation was usually absent. His passing lit a fire in me. Rather than giving up, I used his love, and my interest, to pursue my own career in engineering. My renewed love for the sciences and math gave me a new purpose. I focused more on school, especially in Chemistry, Physics, and Math, and worked harder to improve my grades. My goal of acquiring a chemical engineering degree allowed me to shift my focus from my father to my future. Looking back, I realize now that had it not been for my love of engineering, I never would have been able to overcome the obstacle of my father’s death, and I never would have found my true
Did I want to go into the automotive industry? Did I want to go into aerospace? I never really sat down and thought about it. I just kept on going with my plan to do better in my classes. At the least, I achieved that. I started to get better study habits and all that good jazz, but it still wasn't enough for me. I wanted to have an objective for my education; I wanted to have an end goal. It took some time, but I remembered that as a kid, I was always interested in flight. As a matter of fact, I was interested in everything about flight (especially aerodynamics and propulsion). But I didn't want to drop my Mechanical Engineering major. So I decided that I was going to continue it and specialize in propulsion. Now that I had an end goal in mind, I decided to create a game plan to reach

Mechanical engineering is not too different from electrical engineering in the sense that they both have to do with creating tools and many other things; however mechanical engineering has more to do with building things like cars and elevators than phones, or light bulbs. Being able to find a job after graduating from college is always something that should be worried about; however, the employment rate for mechanical engineers are increasing and is expected to increase by 5% in the next few years (summary). The median annual play for a mechanical engineer in 2016 was $84,190. A person only needs a bachelor's degree to start their work as a mechanical engineer (Summary). For mechanical engineering I would need classes like mathematics, physics, life, design and engineering (Summary). These things are also very convenient for me since I enjoy math and physic, but like I stated earlier everything has its own pros and cons.
