RCG Rose Campos reports no health problems. Ms. Campos also reported that she has had no problems with Elijah at home. However, I am concerned that Elija is not safe in his present home with, the maternal grandmother due to Austin’s behavior. Ms. Campos reports no physical harm to Elijah by Austin, but Elijah has witnessed Austin’s violent and abusive behavior to Ms. Campos. I am concerned about Austin’s exposure to this violent and abusive behavior to his grandmother.

Mamie is an 87-year-old women whose degenerative arthritis causing her to me almost completely incapacitated and is losing her memory to senility. Moira Mamies daughter is concerned her mother is being abused by her brother Meldrick who was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia after an honorable discharge. Meldrick is the sole caretaker of his mother, he relies on support from Moira as well as his mother’s Social Security and Medicare assistance. Moira has seen bruises on her mother and has heard reports of her mother being left outside in a car for hours at night while her brother went in to various places (bar, OTB, church). Mamie might not be in her right mind to remember if she’s being abused or might not know what to nor can she really stand up for herself if she is being abused. I believe that Mamie may be being neglected but I’m not certain she is being physically abused.
The Case of Dr. Breeze and the San Marcos Community Mental Health Center started when Dr. Breeze, a psychoanalyst and a previous director of Manford University’s Outreach Mental Health Services Department was hired to direct the new established San Marcos Community Mental Health Center. Upon his arrival to the newly established mental health center, Dr. Breeze found many things invalid. He decided to make changes to improved San Marcos Community Mental Health Center. For an example, as it stated “They have to build and maintain a staff, design programs, mediate internal disputes and conflicts, develop decision-making process, produced budgets, attend to logistical tasks, and maintain their facilities” (Jansson, 2014). After six months of changes, many of the staffs were divided into different groups and departments to service the different area of needs in the mental health center. However, due to Dr. Breeze major changes, a few primary staff members objected to Dr. Breeze changes. They took an offense of not having the ability to voice their ideas on the new mental health center changes. Therefore, those staff members went forward with action to make a complaint regarding Dr. Breeze changes.

The United States has had tremendous growth in population over the past two decades, and the demographic landscape has completely shifted because of this. Latinos account for the largest ethnic minority group in the country today, and this has caused tremendous negative backlash against them including increased discrimination and an overall negative impact on their mental health. A previous meta-analysis reported that Latinos experience high levels of depressive symptoms when compared with non-Latino whites (Torres, 2015). Depression is a terrible condition which takes over your ability to control your emotions and ultimately brings you down to the point where the daily activities that you take part in are no longer of interest to you. Many people suffer from mental health challenges. Often times individuals need a place to go to obtain help both mentally and physically. Mental health problems can affect a significant amount of people. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood (“What is mental health?”, 2013 ). Mental health problems can become prevalent at any stage of life. It is important that those mental health problems be addressed and what better way to address those issues is to reach out to the local community to find those resources that can help assist in emergent and non-emergent mental health care.

Mental health is an issue that, in some cases, is a topic that is swept under the carpet as if it has some kind of insignificance, especially within the Latin American community. According to the 2010 census, “17.8% of the U.S population is estimated to be Latino or Hispanic of those, over 15% had a diagnosable mental illness in the past year. That is over 8.9 million people” (“Latino/Hispanic Communities...” , 2016). The Latino American community has been known to suffer from various mental health conditions such as “general anxiety disorder, major depression, PTSD, alcoholism, and high rates of suicide attempts in Latina high school girls” (“Latino Mental Health”, 2011). Now, if mental illness and health issues are so prevalent within this community why is it being ignored?
