My definition of Leadership has changed so much over the years...I once believed that being a leader is JUST being in charge of people and that you are able to get whatever you want. But as I grew older, I know that leadership is caring for your peers, being able to handle responsibility, and guiding others the right way. When you are leading a project and everyone is looking at you...You need to be the person that is honest with others and is able to own up to their mistakes by fixing them. Guide them to do the right thing with you as their role model. If I am chosen to represent West campus as an ASB member...I would always try to come up with ways to enhance spirit for the school, promoting pep rallies, games, and always showing others what is to be a class representative for the school. We could make weekly flyers of the Motivational quote of the week. I believe that the quote ”trying to make a school a better place" is so cliche, but the one that I really believe to make happen for others is we should make it better by being ourselves and making it a unique school that promotes to be our own person for the best future. …show more content…
To help guide others to do our best by trying to reduce bullies, stress, and etc... Help people that I don't know by running fundraisers for the homeless people and help people get their life started. For as long as I've remembered I've always wanted to help people and protect the men and women that need it by standing up to the bullies that think they are better than others. I believe that with this program I could get started with that and actually make a difference in peoples
Leadership can mean something different to everyone. To me leadership encompasses many things. Leadership is being able to motivate others to achieve. Leadership is listening to what others have to say and acting on it. Leadership is using interpersonal skills to communicate with others. Leadership is being a good example to others.
Leadership can be hard to define and it means different things to different people. To me it means being able to create an inspiring vision of the future and help people achieve that vision. It also means being able to help people acquire that vision either directly or indirectly and help them grow.
I’m proud to be a Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, SCCA, bear. When I first enrolled at SCCA as a freshman, the school was nothing but a small, dull institution that focused on academics and nothing else. There were no sports teams, clubs, or school activities. The public viewed the school as a failure and assumed that it was no place for students to grow and experience what high school is like, but SCCA is nothing like the things people say it is. It may be different from the rest of the high schools in Porterville, California, but SCCA is very unique and is genuinely determined to prepare students for the real world. I aspired to do all that I could to make SCCA a better high school, so I joined my school's leadership team, also known as ASB, during my freshman year. Since the moment I joined ASB, I fell in love with the purpose of the organization. I loved to help out the school, and I loved planning events and activities that helped create a better high school experience for all of the students.
Leadership, to me, is not necessarily always equated with a formal title, but rather it is characterized by the attitude, behavior, mindset, and actions of a person. Not everyone has leadership abilities, and those who do, are gifted with an amazing capability: to lead. In the past year I have demonstrated leadership on and off the playing field, whether that be on the track, the baseball field, or the hockey rink.
There is no one-size-fits all definition when it comes to leadership. Some individuals define leadership as solely guiding others to complete a task. But after I realized how involved we got to be in all of our school’s major decisions, I was hooked. I was overjoyed when I was presented with this amazing opportunity to not only better my campus for me, but for all of my peers. I believe this relates to the person I am because I love being able to solve complex social problems not only to satisfy my needs and wants, but others as well. Which is exactly what ASB is about. It’s not only something that is useful to me, but I love doing it. I love interacting with other people and helping them out. For example, last year I was elected Senior Class President. In the past, the seniors have usually waited until senior year actually starts in order to start organizing events. This year, directly after I was elected, I created and ordered all of our senior shirts with my fellow officers to have for the last day of school. And over the summer I made sure that our senior class was going to be able to have a perfect senior sunrise the first day of school complete with music and the ever popular Teddy’s Donuts. By going to class everyday, I get to help my peers everyday. ASB has been an important experience for me, because I’ve been able to grow as a person, and learn new leadership skills.
Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leadership is so much deeper than having power and bossing people around.
I show this by having a 4.0 GPA. By being a member it will help me to stay on top of things and to always reach for good grades. This shows my determination to take part in this organization and do well in school by striving to get good grades. According to Webster’s Dictionary, leadership is the power or ability to lead other people, the act or instance of leading. I believe that Leadership is an art, the art to get others to follow and accomplish a common goal or task in a harmonic manner. A leader can be shown in all kinds of shapes and forms. To be a great leader many people believe it consists of modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart. Over the course of me learning how to become a better leader and being in leadership roles, I’ve learned that all these are very necessary to be a great leader.
To me, leadership is more than a title. It is more than just being in charge. Leadership is honestly, learning, listening, and most importantly application. Leadership means going the extra mile or two, doing the right thing no matter who’s looking, staying encouraged and encouraging other even when times are hard and you have every reason to quit. Leadership doesn’t mean you’re rich, well known, liked, or respected but it does mean you are a passionate, caring, and authentic. Leadership means you care about something so much you are willing to risk everything you have for this belief or idea. Leadership is doing whatever you can in your power to make things better for those around you.
Understanding what leadership is, it is leading, influencing, commanding and guiding people. A good leader leads the pack, influence them as a role model, command them and sticks them together in crisis and guide them to be the best in professional as well as personal life. Thinking about who are leaders or are they made, in my personal view, I would say that, everyone is a born leader, where some stands up and fly, and some others sit back and watch.

My definition of leadership is categorized in four different methods; identifying strengths and weakness of the team, having the right tools to succeed, having a common goal, and creating solutions to problems.
