The first photograph I am going to discuss is photo of Ellery Shufelt with his children in Albany County, New York. Arthur Rothstein took this photograph in 1937, which was when the Great Depression was taking place in the United States. This photograph depicts many of these formal elements and techniques such as, framing, lighting, composition, and space to help portray the true meaning of the image. Arthur Rothstein uses the technique known as composition, which can be defined as the organization of the photograph by inserting elements in particular places and sizes. This assumption can be made because Rothstein places the Ellery Shufelt and his children in specific areas of the photograph to help capture an emotion or option about how people live and work American society at this time. Also, the framing and position of the door and chair outlines the photograph asymmetrically for the viewer. The door offsets the image by dividing the image with a vertical line. This basically crops the photograph making the viewer focus on the father and his children rather than the background itself. In addition, the level the camera intensifies the feeling and framing by making you feel eye level with the subjects. The use of framing allowed the photograph to make you focus and control how you perceive the image.

During our visit to the El Paso Museum of Art, our docent (insert name) took us on a tour of their current exhibitions: Robert Delaunay and Albert Gleizes: The School of Paris from Modern Master Series: Highlights from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Immaculate Conception, Amplified Abstraction, and Modern Stone Totems. In addition to our expedition we observed art of Mexico and New Spain that showcased 17th and 19th century paintings and sculptures. European art with includes paintings and sculptures from the Samuel H. Kress Collection. As well as, early American art from the 19th century to the mid 20th century.

Three weeks ago I visited the Art Institute of Chicago. It was established in 1879 and has since expanded its collection to approximately three hundred thousand works. Attracting over one and a half million visitors annually, it is one of the largest art museums in the United States. The reason I chose this site is that I read that it displayed Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and I wanted to see it in person because it is so iconic.

It must have been 13 years or so since I have been to the art museum, back in elementary school, on a one of a kind field trip. 13 years is way too long to have been away from the art museum, as my experience this year reminded me that. It was a beautiful, sunny October day, although it felt like July, and it was an even better day to talk a walk through the vast, mesmerizing pieces of art that the museum has to offer. Cleveland has been fortunate enough to have become home several popular museums, including The Cleveland Museum of Art. The museum is filled with impressive masterpieces from the beginning of human documented time to today’s world. This free exhibit offers an exciting, enjoyable experience to those of all ages and those of all backgrounds. From the interactive futuristic portions of the building, to the delicate works of the past, there is something at this museum to please each person’s artistic mindset.

When I attend the Oklahoma Art Museum this morning, I was completely blown away by the different styles, technique, and artistic abilities that artist have. Art can come in many forms and can involve many different things. From paintings, sculptures, and abstract pieces of the modern world. Along with my visit, I got to experience a new collection of blown glass that was absolute remarkable. As I walked though the museum, it was as I walked though time and got to see how each period’s art changed throughout time. From the different shades of color to the different types of technique that filled the halls of the Oklahoma City Art Museum, each piece was genuine in its own way. I was starstruck as I witnessed Lowell Nesbitt’s Parrot Tulip, Richard Diebenkorn’s Albuquerque, and Dale Chihuly’s blown glass.

The exhibit is located at Texas State University, San Marcos and I visited on December 1st. The titles of the work I chose was The Photographer, Getting Even, Carousel Bartender, Chandelier and Alex’s Music Room. The year this work was published was in 2003. The art shown is photographs in black and white and is hand tinted with color oils. The subject of this art is to showcase events in everyday life. By expressing it emotional and creativity by capturing the things many people wouldn't think that are a realty Paint of the artwork is really has a lot of going on outside of the main attraction. In Alex’s music’s room the first thing that captures your eyes is all the red in the painting and the violins, harper and the cymbal on the floor. When you look closer into the painting you can see crazy details. Like the lions laying around in the music room and the candles in the pieced looks as if it's a person not really a candle. The decoration on the chandelier looks like there is really gems hanging in the art. In the art piece Getting Even its isn’t as detailed but it makes you wonder how did Schenck catch this moment on his camera. The painting its taking place in some field of flowers. It’s late at night and it looks like a man is about to kill another person but the other human being is just standing there. I guess the person is getting even by homicide since that’s the name of the painting. The painting doesn’t really focus on the people in it. It focusses more on the scenery because its more emphasized in the painting. The people are more a shadow and in the background I would say. My favorite painting out of the five would have to the be the Carousel Bartender you can see it in my expression. When I was looking at the art this was the first painting that caught my attention. My experience to the Dallas Museum of Art was a bit different from the last time I had attended the museum. I was curious to see what pieces of art there would be and if it would be the same as the previous visit which was long ago, but to me all the pieces of art were so different and very interesting. It may have been because I saw all the pieces in a new perspective since learning about the different types of paintings there can be and knowing how and where sculptures come from. Even though I do not know much of art I really gave it a try into seeing what the artist may have wanted us to get out of his work. The two works of art that I have chosen to analyze are 1) Jordan Casteel. Miles and JoJo. 2014. Oil on canvas, 54” x 72” and 2) Aaron Fowler. He Was. 2015. Mixed media, 134” x 165” x 108”. The themes that these works of art represent in regards to the exhibit are love, family, and pain. However, they also fall into other thematic categories. The main theme that seems to apply to both “Miles and JoJo” and “He Was” is Human Experience. Additionally, these arts differ in some ways.

My best friend, Chelsea and I went to the Dallas Museum of Art today. It was a long drive but we had finally got there. When we arrived at the entrance I was immediately entranced with the artwork that was on the concrete wall. It had a blue background with this robot lady shooting out a rainbow with the top half of her body, and a giant red hand that is bringing life to the plants that is in the ground. When we got in to the museum the first thing that I saw was the café. I was curious to what kind of food they sell but we did not go inside because we were on a mission. So, we immediately went over to the information desk to see which art galleries were free and if flash photography was allowed. We left there to take a picture by this marble sculpture of this woman sitting in a dress with her legs crossed. Then we wondered around until we got to the creative gallery. One pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin on our museum assignment in world literature class. According to Houston Museum of Fine Art’s staff, MFAH considers as one of the largest museums in the nation and it contains many variety forms of art with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I have never been in a museum in a very long time especially as big as MFAH, and my experience about the museum was unique and pleasant. Although I have observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me the most.

Back in my school years I used to visit many historical museums, where I learned a lot about the culture and society of the past. As I have always been interested in history and arts, all that was a breathtaking experience for me. I believe that these museums is the best way to get closer to lives of our ancestries and it can help us to see the world in a different way. However, to be more knowledgeable about the world we live in, it’s also extremely important to be familiar with modern art. So this time I decided to experience something new and started searching for a museum which would contain works of contemporary artists. Tampa Museum of Art was a great option. In art, there are qualities that speak louder than words. It expresses many different messages and emotions and each person has an experience different from the next. In this paper, I will be discussing two artworks I encountered. The piece is a good example of how people can encounter different experiences in one piece. I attended the Orlando Museum of Art a while back with family and overall enjoyed my experience. On my visit, I found the museum quite impressive and felt a deep connection with specific pieces.
