Abortion: Stand with God or The World?
Once a former abortionist stated,“ And as I brought out the rib cage, I looked and saw a tiny, beating heart.”(Bennett) In Jeremiah 1:5 the Bible states “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”i do (The Holy Bible) If God considers us human before we are even conceived then we should, also. Should we listen to God or should we follow the world? Science has proven that babies in the womb are alive and can feel pain. The Pro-Choice Argument has some good points, I agree. They say that it is the Mother’s choice to have the baby or not, but wasn’t it most likely the Mother’s Choice to do what it takes to get pregnant in the first place? Even if it wasn’t her choice, it is still a part of the Mother, it is growing inside her womb. Unborn babies have the right to life because they are alive beginning at the moment of conception, the unborn baby also is human just like us and it has rights, the unborn baby or “fetus” also feels all

All humans have the right to life and unborn babies shouldn’t be an exception to that same right to life. Many people try to say that it isn’t a baby, it is a fetus. Yes, Fetus is the correct term but a fetus is a baby. If you don’t have a baby/ human growing inside of you then you aren’t pregnant, therefore you don’t need an abortion. If the baby is outside of the womb and is killed by someone it is considered to be murder. Murder violates a person’s right to life. So if babies who have been born have the right to life, then shouldn’t the unborn baby have the same right; because before the baby can be born it has to grow inside the mother’s womb. Therefore if we abort babies, we are killing a human being which violates the given human rights stated in our Great Country’s
Imagine if you were placed in a life or death situation and you had no way to fight for life. This is the circumstance that unborn children encounter when they are forced to experience an abortion, which terminates them and tortures them during their mother’s pregnancy. Abortion is wrong and should be illegal, because it violates the rights of an unborn human being who doesn’t have control over what happens to them. I believe everyone should be against abortion due to my personal opinion as well as genuine facts of the negative effects this procedure has. Abortion is a touchy subject that people feel very strongly about, whether they are “pro life” or “pro choice”.
Thomson brings up the standard anti-abortion argument. Every person has a right to life. A fetus is a person. Which means a fetus has a right to life. Therefore abortion is wrong. Thomson does not understand the jump from a fetus having a right to life to abortion being wrong. She believes that the fetus being a person or not is irrelevant to the argument. And abortion is based more on the rights of the woman, fetus, and who has more of the right of ownership of the woman’s body (Thomson 47-48).
Abortion is one the most controversial topics in the United States. The issue at hand is should abortion be legal or not. It is highly debated with in both media and politics. According to History Channel, “Supreme Court legalizes abortion”, in 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court Case Roe V. Wade ruled that women have the constitutional right to privacy, thus legalizing abortion. This law gave women the right to terminate a pregnancy during the first two trimesters. This sparked huge controversy between pro-life and pro-choice believers. Both pro-life and pro-choice have numerous arguments to justify their opinions. In a report done by WebMD, “Abortion-Reasons Women Choose Abortion,” nine out of ten abortions are performed within the first twelve weeks. Abortion should be legal because it is a women’s constitutional right, mental and physical health, and other.
When agreeing to the ideology that all lives matter, an individual at one point in their life must come to terms with a concept of a living being inside a womb. As to restate, many reflect and use propaganda towards the saying ‘all lives matter’ as race, culture, and even religion. Despite that fact, many do not strongly oppose to the idea of diminishing a life that has not even begun yet. Furthermore, the question on if a person truly believes that everyone must have the right for a chance to live has come to standard when debating on rather not they are pro-life or pro-choice. In other words, if one may agree or disagree with abortion that conflicts with how one may interpret how humans are free, this case being towards women and a fetus
Societies frequently regard the term “good” as whatever is pleasurable or moral and “bad” as whatever causes unpleasant outcomes. Therefore it makes sense that we should seek out the good in life and avoid the bad. In cases of abortion, though, where a potential life is considered “bad”, is it justified to remove it? Life is viewed as the highest intrinsic good, thus any act of deliberately taking it away becomes a serious moral issue. Pro-life arguments, or arguments opposing abortion, claim that each human has a right to life, a person is a human at the moment of conception, and each human possesses the obligation to protect human lives. Pro-choice arguments, or arguments supporting abortion, argue that a child’s life begins at birth, a woman has the leading right over her body, and abortion promotes autonomy. I will attempt to refute the leading pro-choice arguments while holding my claim that abortion to end a life is always immoral because it is an act of murder.
It is a woman’s right to make decisions about her body. If she is the one that undergoes the stress that comes with childbirth, then it should be her right to ,and her right alone to decide whether or not she wants to go through it or not. Not doing so would violate her right to freedom of choice, as well as lead to unsafe abortions that could harm the mother (Nair, 2010). Another question is how could you kill a fetus or embryo when it is the same as a human being? Which begs the question, if the fetus is alive, then so are the eggs and sperm? How do you make the distinction?
Once we grant that the unborn are human beings, it should settle the question of their right to live. The one-time choice of abortions robs someone else of a lifetime of choices and prevents him or her from ever exercising his or her rights . (Alcorn, Randy) There are seven characteristics that define life. Responsiveness to the environment, growth and change, the ability to reproduce, a regulated metabolism and oxygen flow, maintaining homeostasis (the ability to regulate internal bodily functions in response to external changes), composed of cells, and the capacity to pass traits onto offspring. Pre born babies possess all seven characteristics that define life. (Human Coalition) "The science is clear, human babies are conceived in the wombs of human mothers, and those pre-born human beings are alive at the moment of conception." -Dr.
Yet women are walking free and not sitting behind bars for murdering their unwanted or unplanned children. The fetus lacks the ability to speak on its own behalf, but that still should not give the mother the right to make the final decision to take away the unborn fetus’s life. There are people in this world that cannot have babies, and if the baby is not wanted, then it should be given up for adoption for someone who would love to have children. An innocent child should not be allowed to be sentenced to death because it is not planned or wanted. Pro-Life should be the only choice because everyone has a right to live, no matter if the fetus has the ability to speak on its own
Imagine not having choice to decide whether or not you want to live. How you would feel one day if someone decided that it was “ok” to take away your life without you having any say in it? Unborn fetuses do not have a choice to decide whether or not they want live if their mother decides to have an abortion.
Many feel, such as elected officials, clergy, and radical anti-abortion fanatics that the unborn have rights as well. They feel that since it could become a living person, society doesn't have a right to kill it. In fact, pro life advocates believe the fetus can feel pain.
No sane person on the “pro-choice” side would argue that killing babies is acceptable and should be legal. The issue here is also not whether a fetus is a “human.” The question is when the fetus becomes a human person (baby). This is a simple, classic case of begging the question, a case in which an argument is presented with a conclusion that “is based on an unstated or unproven assumption” (Gass). The unproven assumption here is premise three, that “abortion is killing a baby.” Although much research has been done to try and determine how and when a fetus should be classified (as a human baby or tissue blob), science cannot determine exactly where life begins. However, most “pro-lifers” would say they believe that life begins at conception. Roe v. Wade dictated that a woman has a right to an abortion until the point the fetus becomes “viable,” meaning that it is likely the fetus could survive outside the mother’s womb as a premature baby—generally around 20-24 weeks into the gestation period (Lawnix.com). Is this not the Supreme Court decreeing that “life” begins at viability, and
The right to life is the most basic and important right that we have. In the past two hundred years, over one million Americans have died for their country. Monuments have been built and speeches have been delivered, honoring these American heroes. America is now engaged in a war where there are no heroes, no monuments or tributes - only victims. Our society has declared war on its most helpless members - our unborn children. Since that war was declared on January 22, 1973, there have been over 35 million deaths.
Does a women’s right to choose to have an abortion outweigh a baby’s right to be born? The controversy at hand is whether the rights of a women outweigh the rights of a baby, and whether a mother should be given the rights to pursue a procedure like an abortion. To clarify an abortion is a medical procedure that ends a pregnancy in which a doctor uses a vacuum and suction to suck out a fetus from the uterus. The issue is whether the fetus who has the potential to be a rational, productive human being has the unequivocal rights of any other human being and whether he or she should be protected from, in every sense of the word, murder. The argument made by abortionfacts.com a nonprofit Christian pro-life education organization, is that
I believe that it is a woman’s choice whether to keep her child or not. I don’t think that anyone should interfere with the choice of the provider of the baby. Abortion is a popular topic in the debate world, but I strongly believe it shouldn’t since at the end of the day the woman is liable for her child. In this article, an unknown writer wrote, “The fact that a fetus may or may not have a beating heart, developing neurological structures, identifiable digits, or any other human quality does not equate abortion to murder. All embryonic organisms resemble a developed version of said organism. Additionally, a fetus does not have the mature, necessary neuroanatomical system required to feel pain until 26 weeks gestation. Not to mention,
The most important thing is that the fetus is a person and every person has a right to life. Even though the majority of people disagree with this point, and say fetus is not a person yet but rather it’s a bunch of tissues or cells. The counter argument to this that she says a fetus is a already become a person before birth, by tenth week for an example the fetus has human characteristics already such as a face, arms and legs, fingers and toes along with detectable brain activity. Upon this statement since every person has the right to life, so does the fetus since it’s a developing human. But what about the mother doesn’t she have right to decide what happens to the fetus, since it’s her body. Everyone would agree, but surely a person’s right
