Technology is an amazing tool whether it be by texting a friend, e-mailing a relative or writing an essay almost everyone has access to technology. Technology is great in many ways, especially by bringing people closer together. Two topics will be focused on the first one how technology helps us communicate with friends and family even more rapid than before. The second is about technology and how it can help us do or find stuff wherever and whenever we need it. It also helps teens improve social skills that are ordinarily neglected. Furthermore, technology enhances our lives in so many ways without it would be a lot harder to do the many things we can do.
The first reason technology is superior is because it helps us communicate with people faster everyday. Teens going about their everyday life can with a few strokes of a thumb or clicks of a mouse can access and communicate within seconds. This is an amazing prospect! In an article about technology it says, "Media technology has many potential benefits for youth. It allows young people to communicate with family and friends on a regular basis"(1). This is saying that we have chances every day to speak to family or friends thousands of miles away! In any type of condition it is incredible. In another article on technology it says, "This technology also provides opportunities to make rewarding social connections for those teens and those barely younger who have difficulty developing friendships in traditional social settings or because of limited contact with same-aged peers"(2). Accordingly this shows, that teens are more likely to communicate with a digital device than by any other

Our topic is the societal impacts of technology, but because technology has drastically changed the way the entire world functions, the three authors have decided to narrow focus on two aspects of life: economics and mental health. While the two areas may seem incompatible, the economic state of a country directly affects the mental health of its citizens, and the economic estate relies on individuals. In order to accurately depict the two areas of effect, the author's focus is the United States, but compare technology use and mental health rates in the United States to the technology use and mental health rates of both China and Russia in order to generate a better understanding of American society. By understanding the impact of technology on economics and mental health, individuals are capable of making informed decisions about technology use, in doing so they directly impact their surrounding society.
Within the pro-choice world there are many issues that are discussed like abortion, the instant where life begins and the use of contraceptives. To consider both the man before the war and after the war a patriot, we have to look at what a patriot is. The dictionary defines a patriot as, “a person who loves and strongly supports or fights for his or her country”. (Merriam-webster.com, 2014) Being a man who continues to serve the military, we are all patriots at some point. Ron Kovic raised his right hand as the process of enlistment goes, swore allegiance and service to the United States, knowing he might have to give his life in order to defend it. At the time of enlistment and up to his accident he followed what he swore to do. He was fighting for his country as those who were appointed over him ordered him to do. No one can argue that Kovic was serving his country, supporting his country, being a patriot.
The AM dial in the Bay Area is as diverse as the people that make up the population. It includes stations that play a diverse mix of language specific content as well as sports and talk radio that presents a tossed salad of ideas, viewpoints, philosophies, opinions, information, and rants. San Francisco, even though consistently run by democratic city and local leaders, is actually more "green" than blue. Along with Berkeley, San Francisco is traditionally anti-war, pro-civil rights, extremely eco/environmental conscious, and would be considered extremely fiscally liberal because of some of their support and assistance programs. These cities are also anti-big business, doing whatever they can to make sure that WalMart stays out and Mom 'N Pop
Advocates play an important part of the encounter stage of conversion. Rambo defines an advocate as someone who “assesses the potential target audience and formulates persuasive tactics to bring converts into the religious community” (Rambo 66-67). Islam is one of the few religions that have clear and particular missionary enterprises. It is also important to examine the nature of the advocate. For example Rambo states that the following are important considerations: “Is conversion central to their mission? What is their personal experience of conversion? What do they understand conversion to be? What are their motivations for missionary work? What are the goals of the missionary enterprise as a whole? What does the advocate deem to be the
As normal humans we see the world trough as an array of color. It would be difficult to live in the 21st century without being able to see color. Living in the modern world we associate colors with meanings; such as a red light at a stoplight means stop, and green means go. But how are we able to see color? ColoRotate states in their article titled How do we perceive color?, that “[w]e perceive color when the different wavelengths composing white light are selectively interfered with by matter … on their way to our eyes, or when a non-white distribution of light has been emitted” (ColoRate). This shows that when light is absorbed by the human eye it gets absorbed and we perceive it as color. The human eye follows a specific structure, whereby the different components of the eye make it possible to see and process color.
Castaldy and Collins state that due to technology children are going outside less and are staying indoors more often due to their extensive use of technology, children are remaining seated in one position for a long period of time resulting in poor health . In the time children would normally be out with friends has significantly been replaced with technology as it is no longer needed for children to go out side to connect with friends as they can do so from home and receive a form of socialization through social media, the fact the children no longer need to go outside to interact with friends and play is highly affecting health and resulting in obesity in kids (Castaldy and Collins 1).
In recent debates about online schooling, I have found that the state department of education is currently experimenting with an online schooling system. Although I agree that this could be beneficial to some students who are located in more rural areas of the country, I don't believe it is the absolute best way to solve this educational issue. Over the past few years, people in the educational field have been figuring out ways to incorporate technology into school, but with online schooling I fear we would have to find a way to incorporate personal interaction into technology.
The People History stated, “Automobiles have come a long way since their beginning in the late 19th century. One of the major things that has helped automobiles to provide more safety and convenience, though, is electronics. With the advances in technology and electronics, car manufacturers have been able to offer a wide variety of services and conveniences that many new automobile owners appreciate” (ThePeoplehistory.com). With the help of our technology that continuously grows, our cars have become more safe for everyone inside, and outside, the vehicle. They now are able to get us where we need to be much quicker than before, and in a more efficient way. Furthermore, cars from the past have changed into what they are now, and continue to

College students call home twice a day on average (Hofer 2).psychology professor Barbara Hofer claims in her article. “A parent’s role in the path to adulthood, “that this statistic is not as heartwarming as it may seem. Rather, she says, It demonstrates that teens are increasingly more dependent on their parents. This thought is shared by university president John McCardell jr, who states in his new york times article, “let them drink at 18 with a learner’s permit” that, “if you infantilize someone do not be surprised when infantile behavior results” (1) on the other hand, neuroscientist sarah for this independence because their prefrontal cortex is still developing, causing them to be moody and take dangerous risk. Therefore, parents should let their teens be independent because it builds character. Parents
In 2008, around 40 million children participated in an organized sport (Mango, 2012). However, this topic is up for debate. While many think that competitive sports should not be played by children, others believe there are positive benefits when it comes to competitive sports. The positives outweigh the negatives in this situation. It is clear that competitive sports have tons of positive benefits. Competitive sports have been proven to improve mental health, along with teaching life lessons and gaining positive influences.
Waite and Gallagher also discuss the benefits that marriage gives to couples. Including the financial benefits, in that through specialization and by sharing incomes getting married boosts standard of living by thirty percent and this benefit is not incurred by cohabitating, as those who cohabitate do not share as much and are less committed to the wellbeing of their partner. In addition to the financial benefits, they also discuss the emotional benefits of knowing you have someone who loves you and who would take care of you. Children similarly benefit from having married parents as there are more financial resources available to help take care of them and they get to spend more time with at least one parent.
