I think I deserve The Wright Health Partners Health Careers Academy Scholarship because all my life I have always wanted to be a certified nurse assistant. I dropped out of high school and never got the opportunity to finish high school or even get to go to post secondary school education, because I got pregnant with my first child. I never really got the chance to further my education like I wanted. I have worked as a housekeeper to support my family. My professional goals that I want to achieve in these two years are: I would like to get my Certified Nurse Assistant certification. After completing the course and getting experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant, I would like to go back to school to study in the medical field as a Registered Nurse. Finishing nursing school would have to be one of my main goals being accomplished. I hope that my …show more content…
Having four kids to be able to provide for and financially support has me living paycheck to paycheck. Jose is my oldest son. He is a Belmond-Klemme graduate from the class of 2016. He is currently attending NIACC to become a Physical Therapist. Alexis is my oldest daughter. She is currently a junior in high school. She plans on becoming a missionary and maybe later in the future also going into the medical field. Juan and Jazmyn are both in eighth grade. They are very involved with the school and all of their school clubs. Seeing my kids accomplishing what I couldn’t accomplish is a really amazing.
My greatest accomplishment is being able to raise my kids and teach them the value of what it is to go to school. Seeing them follow their dreams make me happy but also inspires me to go back to school so I can follow my dreams as well. Another accomplishment I have is being able to work at the hospital, even though it’s being a EVS at the hospital, I have always wanted to work at the hospital and in the near future actually be able to help people get
It is no secret that communication is key when providing direct patient care in a skilled nursing facility. However, there is a noticeable lapse in the communication between the care team when providing care to the individual or groups of individuals. Two main parts of any care team are the registered nurse and the certified nursing assistant, as these are the two people whom have the most direct and impactful roles with residents in a skilled facility. The Registered Nurse and the Certified Nursing Assistant play similar roles in providing patient care, but have different roles in its entirety. The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) is defined as having the competency and skill to provide direct and indirect health care to individuals, their families, and communities around them. Services are also provided designed to give out medications, to promote comfort or healing, promote healing, and to also provide the dignity of their patients and patient’s families (American College of Rheumatology, 2015).
My single biggest accomplishments that i have achieved, is graduating from middle school and starting a new phase in my life, this is inportant to me because i have turned from a boy to a man. I have also learned priceless lessons and values from the people around me that helped me become who i am. It helped me be defined as someone else and not just a shell of a person going through school, what i do now defines the life i have, and will forever be me. I said goodbye to me elementary and middle school teachers that inpacted my life
A Registered Nurse is a person who enjoys helping other people. They practically have the responsibility for many peoples lives. What’s interesting about a Registered Nurse is that they get to learn about all the parts of the human body. A Registered Nurse works in the medical field and needs to be ready with anything that comes their way. There could be a sudden death, some kind of medical issue that pops up, and even a patient just falls over and hurt themselves. As a Registered Nurse they need to be able to deal with blood, snot, vomit etc. The main thing a Registered Nurse has to be good at is being able, and wanting to help people in need.
The greatest accomplishment in my life thus far has been graduating high school. Academics has always been very significant to me. Neither my Mother or my Father graduated from high school and they have always encouraged me to receive my diploma. with the diploma came pride, being the first person in my family to get a higher education and knowing I'm one step closer to my career.

Shacondra Burnette is the spark that ignited my fire to pursue the nursing field. A close family relative and hard-working passionate woman, she had gotten me my first job as a personal care assistant. Even without certification I was making great money and gaining a new experience in the nursing field. After being at it for a year straight, I decided to take it further and get my certification as a nursing assistant.
During my life I was taught education is important to make it in today’s society. So because of that I went to school for C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) straight out of high school in 1992. After working in this field for a couple years I decided that this field wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I then decided to work in the Customer Service field with varies companies like BellSouth in the repair department and Carnival Cruise Line in the reservation department. In June of 2003, I took a break to have my third daughter that was premature. After being out of work for about two years I decided to go back to school. I enrolled in University of Phoenix to study Healthcare Administration. After completing the degree in Healthcare
Last weekend was the most exasperating weekend I have worked in a long time. This weekend is my first anniversary, I did not want to work. I wanted to be home with my family to prepare for the celebration. I have an exam on Monday, needed to read about five books, the nurse told me I needed to read up on pleasantry tactics. My priorities are to make sure that I accomplish all of my motherly, wifely duties and fulfilling my duties as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I have been at the job for 12 hours now, due someone had called off I am ready to go I have a lot of planning to do and not enough time to accomplish what needs to be done before the weekend.
Hi to whom it may concern, I Arword Resima a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) student currently waiting to take my state boards test so I may begin to work in my assigned field. I am writing this letter to get an approval or a waiver from The Department of Health Board of Nursing. So, I may be able to take my exam. In the year of 2013 I went into great depression to the point I became suicidal, this is what lead me to commit the crime I was charged with. I was charged with a third degree felony. I only had to serve six months I received time served and the judge withheld adjudication. During my time in jail I realized what great mistake I have made and how I was willing to end my life because of the pressures of life. Since then I have become
Leadership; a trait that's been practiced for generations, creating a foundation where anyone can take action and create a plan or idea that can help our society's wellbeing, even if nothing is given in return. However leadership is not a skill that is perfected within a single night, on the other hand it's a trait that is gained throughout time. Being that, when I first began high school I never thought that I would be able to exhibit this vigorous position. I am usually the quite kid in the corner who never speaks and someone who is always shy to be in front of a big crowd. But it all took a turn when I was given the opportunity to become part of the certified nursing assistant (CNA) program at school, Secretary of Flag club, and take part
In my fifteen years of existence, I’ve learned the essence of giving forward and that rewards don’t consistently play a factor when experiencing a good deed. If I am chosen as a candidate to represent this position, I have the ambition to increase my knowledge about what a hospital honestly is to patients. I ardor the chances of acquiring time to perceive what it’s like not behind the hospital bed, instead I aspire to make an immense impact of an individual’s perspective. I urge to improve my background about the health service, but not only do I want to up my intelligence, I wish to gain academic skills so I can incorporate the skills in life binding situations. I desire to expand my wisdom by volunteering for this tremendous opportunity.
Attempting to translate obscure medical terms to non-English-speaking parents can be quite the challenge. In spite of that, I felt a profound fulfillment in doing so when my brother had to undergo procedures due to intracranial hemorrhaging and when my baby sister suffered life-threatening gastrointestinal complications. Amidst the frequent visits and the awkward translating, I grew enthralled with the various facilities and the healthcare members working within them. This early exposure piqued my interest in medicine and patient care. To gain firsthand experience in a healthcare setting, I became a certified nursing assistant (CNA), serving as a caregiver, physical trainer, and the occasional emotional crutch to numerous patients. While I
Ive always wanted a rewarding career that revolved around helping people. I want to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner. I am not sure on what specialty I want. So given a assignment in my Introduction Health Sciences class where I have to shadow a nurse practitioner, it gives me the opportunity to explore a specialty and see what it really is like in their typical work day. An advanced practice registered nurse, by the name of Mary Carlson at Parkland Medical Center was willing to let me shadow her for a day. Carlson graduated with her BSN from Boston College. She then pursued a graduate degree from Boston University. Her official title is, Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Medicine.
Part 2----My biggest accomplishment is that I quit smoking almost a year ago. It was very challenging, but it showed me I can accomplish anything if I put my mine to it. Completing one goal has led me create other goals in my life and I always fight to achieve them cause I know I am capable of it.
Why do I want to be a nurse? If you were to ask me that same question years ago, I would’ve given you a funny look and tried to persuade you that all nurses are girls, and if a guy is a nurse he’s potentially gay. However as a kid, I was always caring and compassionate, people would tell me that I should be a nurse because not just because I was always very caring and compassionate but also because, I’m patient, kindhearted, I’m dependable, and I know how to work as a team. For so long I would continually renounce any suggestion of becoming a nurse.
