In a world where information is used and depended upon more than ever, people have begun to not only seek, but demand faster ways to access it. Potentially the most popular method of achieving this has become the internet. It is due to this fact that web designers and developers have undertaken vast amounts of research to not only speed up access to information on the web, but how to make it attract to more users. “How might they have accomplished their goal?” you may ask; to which the answer is: by appealing to the user via visual and mental attraction via design patterns and functionality intuitiveness. Color. It is what makes up the perception of our reality via light rays that we interpret through our eyes (Visible Light Waves, 2007), but why is it important? One could argue that the sole purpose of these waves is to give us vision, but color triggers so much more within our bodies. It can affect the physical processes within our bodies, our emotions, and can even communicate to us outside of the obvious visuals we perceive, based upon the culture that we reside within (Color Matters, 2012). But why is this important to web design and development? The answer is quite simple: color always affects us without us even noticing. Based upon the color scheme you use within your website, you can create a positive, or negative, reaction within your user, and this can either pull them in to your website, or make them run away from it as fast as possible (Chapman, 2010). To explore
In the year 2017, there is a high possibility that the design of websites will change from aesthetics to the usability standards. The design Trend in the year 2016 had already seen some organic design for websites and apps. In the coming year, the focus will be usability rather than beautification of the interface. As there’s a lot of apps on the market the one thing that
Also a website would be easier to access in contrary to an exhibit which required us in the same place. Conjointly, creating a website improves our dexterity for future career aspirations including technology and website building. Considering our combined skill set constructing a website seemed to be the perfect idea, and an enjoyable task. Furthermore, we felt our website should have a newspaper feeling, so we both used black text and countless black and white pictures. Together we agreed that the white background associated with newspapers made our articles, pictures, and quotes stand out whereas a colorful background would have been a distraction from the focal points of the website. The two of us concurred blue was a good color choice for our quotes and titles because blue is associated with tranquility. Our choice was not indefinite as we were certain this was the right option because of the peace compromise involved with our
Even if a website has good information architecture and content, poor design can take away from the two elements and negatively affect the usability of the site. According to Johnson, successful web design is minimalistic and easily readable with font choices and color palettes (39). The design of Sassy Fox’s website is either extremely busy and misleads users or is minimalistic to a fault. Examples of these extremes are the website’s header and user forms.
College websites serve a variety of purposes for prospective and current students, which include, but are not limited to, generating information, data collection, and facilitating online transactions. Accelerated accessibility of web presence through a variety of platforms, from desktops to smartphones, propels websites to the forefront of many colleges’ introduction to prospective students. The aesthetic composition of websites is as significant as is practicality in our modern technological age, and mastery or shortcomings in either attribute can engender positive or negative assumptions respectively from visitors. Approximately 80 percent of website visitors assume that the design of a website is reflective of the entity it represents, according to researchers (Lowry 63). Subsequently, I have decided to conduct an analysis of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School’s (AJMLS) website (Front) due to recent interactions with the site while applying for admission. During this essay, I will explore the aesthetics, practicality, and inconsistencies inherent in the site when accessed on mobile platforms as compared to desktops.
This study found that three main elements are needed: consistent font style, consistent text and background color, a fast loading time, and well-placed hyperlinks. Hite and Railsback (2010) also determined that website development teams should possess several traits, such as marketing and technical skills and knowledge of user-interfaces and effective content. Because hyperlinks were noted as one of the most frustrating components for study participants, Hite and Railsback (2010) also suggest these design rules: do not use colors other than blue or photos/bullets as links, but do have an easy way to get to the home page. Hite and Railsback’s (2010) provide an excellent list of design elements that have been tested and proved, which will act as additional foundation for my analysis. I also plan to use their methods as a foundation for my own, since they were able to analyze a large amount of websites in a relatively short

Web Design is almost like an art. It is the design of information and services over the Internet. Luckily for businesses and customers the information and services provided are in done so through the World Wide Web (WWW). As I mentioned earlier Web design is a form of art, meaning that art and organization are needed to form customized Web pages to fit a particular business’ needs. Services for Web design can be accomplished in a variety of ways: professionally through a Web designer, created through hypertext mark-up language, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, and Microsoft FrontPage as well as other “What you see is what you get” {WYSIWYG) editors or languages.
Colors can be joined to enhance specific perceptions (this is called the Chevreul effect, after the great painter)”(Color Psychology - How colors affect our moods and emotions). I will be using this technique to better please their audience. There will be a lot of reds and blacks to go along with the theme of the website. Along with those white, orange, yellow, and gold to stimulate a confident, cheerful, and wholesome environment.
Balloons Galore is a website that sells decoration balloons for special events. The website uses a Triadic colour scheme which is a colour scheme that uses three colours that are spaced out evenly across the colour wheel. This is a high contrast colour scheme. It uses yellow which is the dominant colour of the page. This colour is used in our culture represents sunshine and happiness but in many other cultures such as Russia the colour yellow would be used to represent an insane asylum, they would call it yellow house. Some parts of Mexico see the shade of yellow(marigold) as an association with death. Fortunately, this is a website for a British based company, and our perception to yellow is of happiness and sunshine.
One of the first elements that draws the viewers attention are the colors. The vibrant colors can be associated with the rainbow, that is known to bring joy and happiness to people’s lives. Vibrant colors
In any market, there is always an increase in the competition within it, however, the added value comes with the product or service inferentiality. A marketer always has an objective of grabbing consumer 's attention and to evoke their emotions using the right tools Colours can be one of those tools that can be used in a different way as in pictures to deliver a certain message (Gorn, Chattopadhyay, Yi&Dahl, 1997).

Before I did any research, I started to fiddle around with the visual aesthetic of the web page. My web page developer was Wix and they provided me with many free images that were directed towards the theme of business and digital technology. My outlook when making decisions was how do I make my audience feel that this web page will not deceive them? How do I create a professional and comfortable ambiance for my audience? I chose the color blue as my background as it symbolizes the color of the ocean. The ocean is infinite, just like the limitless opportunities social media integration has to offer to any
In this last semester, I have grown as a student in the area of knowledge. Before this semester I didn't know, that creating a web page was no joke. Now I have great knowledge of the different ways companies and bloggers create web pages to promote their companies. My evidence is my webpage, about a TV show called pretty little liars. I decided to choose a fun topic that I would be really interested in making as a web page. This project of creating a webpage took hard work because most of the things people see are just the webpage but, they don't see all the codes that are behind a web page. Through this project, it was a necessity to always keep up and make sure I didn't skip a step because that meant I had a problem and would have to go
