Anesthesiology Personal Statement

Currently, I am working for Home Life, which is a non-profit organization that assists people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am also conducting research at OSU on cartilage cryopreservation. After an arduous, yet enjoyable journey, I hope to travel to developing nations and assist those that are unfortunate, by providing knowledge regarding health and medical practices. Working hard in school and excelling in everything I pursue ties in with my long-term goal of becoming a doctor. This is due to the fact that attaining such a career requires self-determination, strength during times of agony, and resilience as well as reflection from every failure. Personally, preventing diseases and spreading awareness medically would be profoundly illuminating.

When I grow up I think I want to be an Anesthesiologist. An Anesthesiologist is a person who specializes in perioperative care, development of an anesthetic plan, and the administration in of anesthetic. Also, an anesthesiologist is a physician trained in anesthesia and perioperative medicine. They give patients medical attention.

Initially, in the future I would like to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. I want to become an Occupational Therapist because I would love to help people recover from injury to regain skills. I am very focused on my career and the path I want to take in pursuing my career. The medical field has always been a passion of mine.

I would like to become a physician because it is a career that is constantly evolving. As a physician, I would be expected to constantly learn new techniques and information to better care for future patients. I would also enjoy interacting with patients and affecting their lives

The journey to embrace the speciality of anesthesiology has been ecstatic and full of fond memories. It was not until the end of my internship that I finally developed a passion in anesthesiology and the field of critical care. I soon realized that with my zeal for clinical anatomy, command over concepts of physiology, dexterity in medical procedures and empathetic connection to my patients, this speciality would be an ideal match. In my opinion, anesthesiology demands a physicians ability to consolidate the core principles of clinical medicine with the knowledge of basic science principles delicately balanced with high standards of ethical code and conduct. I am confident that with my depth of knowledge, passion for clinical research as well

I feel that the world will always need people in the medical field. I want to discover cures, medicine, and ways to improve the quality of life. I want to be apart of a major breakthrough and reveal new things no one thought would be possible for a long time. I would love to see several changes in medicine and the field such as the prevention of diseases, making the public more aware of fatalities that can occur, and most of all to give people and animals a life that is enjoyable which people in the medical profession are entitled to do everything possible to make that

Going off to college, I hope to pursue a major in biology and gain more experience in research labs. I want to explore different genes within various organisms and learn about their intersectional functions. I hope to understand how to enhance or reduce a gene’s expression in order to repress diseases within the human body. After college I will go to medical school and obtain my Doctor of Medicine degree and later pursue a PhD. In the future, I hope to open a research clinic that allows scientists from diverse fields to work together and develop cures for different diseases.

The career of an Anesthesiologist is a difficult one with an amazing reward. I choose the career of an Anesthesiologist because I like chemistry and biology and would like to go into a career where I can combine the two. I also like being the person who knows that they’ve done the saving but still doesn 't need to deal with all of the fame. This career is one that I feel I would excel in because of the flexibility of the working environment and the hours too.

I envision the next ten years to be a time of intense personal growth. I will be building upon my strengths and improving my weaknesses. I hope to be fulfilling my goals and crossing things off of my bucket list. I hope to have the financial security to be able to help my mother retire, and help my younger brother to finish graduate school. I hope to be involved within my community, whether through volunteer work or a community-based organization. As for my career, I see myself working as a primary care physician. I am drawn to the long-term comprehensive care aspect of Internal Medicine and the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population in a variety of settings. This role aligns with my personal values in regards to health maintenance.

“If you want to get out of medicine the fullest enjoyment, be students all your lives.” –David Riesman I developed a love for anesthesiology during my clinical elective as a medical student. Anesthesiologists handle a large scope of medicine that encompasses both physiology and pharmacology. I was fascinated by the fact that one is driven to not only use basic knowledge but is also able to exercise one’s clinical judgment and use of technical skills. I remember admiring the way anesthesiologists provide patient care in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative course of a patient’s procedure.

I hope to possibly work for a sports team and or be employed at Kaiser as a sports or shoulder and ankle specialist. I have seen so many sports specialist, but every time I pay a visit I am fascinated with all the certain types of specialty doctors have. I want to be different from some doctors though. Instead of calling me Dr. Thai I would want people to address me as just Jason, for the reason I believe that titles create barriers. Ultimately, my biggest goal would to one day travel the world to third world countries to provide help to those in need. With the knowledge obtained from college, I could work with others to make the lives of other abroad a life worth living. I am not pursuing this career for the money, but for the reason that I may help those who may not even be able to afford doctors. My aspirations now were shaped by my favorite aunt. My aunt was a dentist who sacrificed time with her family to take care of mine. She would give everything to see my family happy. I remember she sang the song "My Heart Will Go On" as I played the song on my trumpet. She passed away a couple years ago, and I was unable to thank her for all she has done. When it is finally my turn to join her, I can finally tell her thank you. Her heart truly did go on, and I am ready to work hard to achieve my goals. For now I make progress day by

Flying into Toronto Pearson International Airport, I reflected on my extraordinary adventure overseas. I had been on a volunteer international medical mission across Vietnam, Nepal, and India over the last four months, immersed in the local culture while shadowing surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency doctors, and pediatricians. Working closely with physicians, I took patient vitals and history, cleaned and bandaged wounds, observed surgeries, discussed anatomy and physiology, and recalled the hundreds of stories that patients have shared with me at the bedside--I relished every moment of it. My experiences taught me the immense level of responsibility, the importance of communication and collaboration, and even an appreciation for the limits of medicine. My time abroad helped reaffirm my desire to pursue medicine.

Everyone has their dreams and aspirations of what they want to be. The profession I plan to go into is the medical field. I am passionate about this because it feels great to help someone. Whenever a person is in need, it should be an instinct to help them and this is the main reason I am wanting to become a doctor. Every time I am sick I go to the doctor and they are able to help me get better. In a couple of days my sickness would be gone and I would be so happy and thankful that the doctor was able to assist me. This inspired me to become a doctor because once they finished their prognosis it makes the person feel so much better. Since I volunteer in a hospital over the weekends, usually discharging patients or delivering flowers it helps me see an aspect of what it would be like to work as a doctor. Communicating with patients and nurses has shown me it is a pleasure to help others.
