Ra the Sun God It was Ra, “The King of Gods”, floating down from the sun. While there are many ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses, Ra was “The King of Gods”. Ra was the Sun God that was the most important God of ancient Egyptians. He was a man that wore a hawk head and headdress with a sun disk. People believed that he created heaven, earth, and all the Gods. Basically, people believed that Ra created everything. Ra also had special powers such as, that he could appear in many forms, pass through the underworld, and travel across the sky. He was also worshipped and honored in a way that ancient Egyptians thought that every god should represent some phase of Ra. The Egyptians related animals with their gods because they respected certain traits the animals had, and attributed the same traits to their gods. The pharaoh, their ruler, was the representative of the sun god on earth, and received homage and worship. Statues of the gods were treated as the gods themselves and were given offerings and homage as well.

They also believed that Ra could also easily take away everything away without a warning. Ra was also a major God in Egyptian beliefs and seemed to have much power over other Gods. These two sun Gods could have had a lot of power because we as humans thrive best under sunlit hours.
