Native Americans have had a long important part of American history. Many of them started out from different descendants and eventually joined up for protection. One of these tribes became massive and ended up getting the name seminoles. The seminoles started out in Florida and had small groups form in Georgia and Alabama. But some were forced to move to Oklahoma in the 1800s. The seminoles lived by the river valleys, mountains, and the swamp mostly for food, water, and shelter (Seminole Tribe). They had many natural resources including fruit, seeds, nuts, and pumpkins (Seminole Tribe). Overall the seminoles had a great location and plentiful resources.
For example, the traditions of different ceremonies between the two tribes are exceedingly valued by the members of the tribes. The ceremonies of the Oneida Indian Nation and the Forest County Potawatomi tribe correspond with the cycle of the seasons and/or the cycle of life and nature. (Studios, W. B.; Native Wisconsin) Another example would be that both tribes have a deep relationship with the environment they are submerged in. The Oneida Indian Nation used natural materials, such as deer and other hides, for their clothing. (Studios, W. B) The Forest County Potawatomi tribe has a spiritual connection with the environment and land they live on. (Potawatomi Hotel & Casino) Lastly, a custom that is important to the Oneida Indian Nation is the tradition of oral language storytelling. The storytelling reflected etiquettes of behavior, tribal history, and events. (Studios, W. B) On the other hand, a tradition and way of life for the Forest County Potawatomi tribe is casinos. The casinos built by the tribe have greatly impacted the life of tribe along with the people, families, and businesses. (Native Wisconsin) In conclusion, the culture and tradition of the Oneida Indian Nation and the Forest County Potawatomi truly reflect the sense of character and moralities of the members of each
The Blackfoot Indians were a very remarkable tribe. They have unique and interesting way to live, which I find fascinating. They live in the Northwestern United States and Canada. The Blackfoot Tribe consists of four Blackfoot nations who have the same cultural background but different leaderships. Those nations are the Siksika Nation, the Kainai or Blood Nation, the Pikanii or Peigan Nation, and the Blackfeet Nation. The Blackfoot Indians are a nomadic American Indian tribe that migrated to the to Northwestern United States. The first three nations are in Alberta, Canada and the fourth nation is in Montana. Most Blackfoot people still live in this region today.
The combined tribe known as the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma that is currently located near the four-state area, consists of members who survived throughout the rough journeys, such as the Trail of Tears, which the majority of Indians went through. These Indians were once a part of the Iroquois Confederacy, which originated from New York State. Later, these tribes united in Oklahoma, also known as “Indian Territory”, after the nineteenth century war, between the States.

It’s believed that he Ojibwe made first contact with Europeans in 1615 when the French explorer Samuel de Champlain arrived at Lake Huron, as some Ojibwe lived in the area. In 1622, one of Champlain's men, Etienne Brule, was exploring Lake Superior where he made contact with Ojibwe groups farther west (Ojibwe History 2014). Many Ojibwe seemed to live near the rapids of the St. Mary's River, and the French began to refer to the Ojibwe there as "Saulteaux," derived from the French word sault, or rapids. In 1641, French Jesuits first visited the area of Sault Ste. Marie (as they called the rapids of the St. Mary's River), establishing a Christian mission there by 1667. Like other Indian groups, the Ojibwe were forced westward beginning in the 1640s when the League of the Iroquois began to attack other tribes in the Great Lakes region to monopolize the fur trade. The Ojibwe did not suffer as much as other tribes, and by the 1690s they had won some impressive victories against the Iroquois, resulting in the League of the Iroquois suing for peace with the French and their Indian allies in 1701.
The Ojibwa or known as the Chippewa in European are people of northeastern North America. The term Ojibwa is said to mean the puckered moccasin people or they say the French said the word meant pictograph. The Chippewa Indians mainly lived in the Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and Michigan. There was 35,000 Ojibwa on the continent in the mid seventeenth century. They used the word Anishinabeg to describes themselves which means “original people.” The Ojibwa has its own cultural values like honesty, generosity, endurance, wisdom, and strength of character. All these values have been instilled through education and religious practice. The tribe has had ties with the French and even helped the French fight against the British in the French and Indian war. The French traders would even wed Chippewa women. The family was of great importance to the Ojibwa tribes.
The second clan of the Lenape Indians was the Unami Tribe. Unami roughly translates into “the people down the river”. They are often called the turkey tribe of the Lenape Indians. By the early seventeen-hundreds, the Unalachtigo tribe was completely dissolved into the Unami tribe. (Weslager 1987)
