Starry Night was painted in June of 1889 and was inspired by an image of the French city of Arles at night; van Gogh completed this work outdoors with the help of a gas lamplight. Van Gogh portrayed the windows of the houses in the village so that their warming glow could still be seen even with the dark of night. The twinkling stars fill the sky, showing that there will always be light to guide your way. There is a sense of peace and freedom within this painting. The sky’s wind and force swirled together with a calm look, and the village on land, blending and flowing together, forming a peaceful, yet powerful night scene. Starry Night’s texture is remarkable. Enders Game novel by Orson Scott Card and the film by Gavin Hood had too many differences. The film compared to the book, is practically totally different and had significant changes in the plot line and the setting. The movie was simplified to fit the normal movie length. The age of almost all the characters were changed along with some of their background. Among all the things that were different was also most of the characters development especially, Enders emotional development trough out the movie. There was also differences inside battle and command school. The mistake the director made was probably the ending which was completely changed from the book besides Ender finding the egg. Sadly the film was almost completely different form the book.

The expression of these colors is seen in the night sky. Yellows are seeming in a spiral effect depicting the stars and the crescent moon, giving the feeling of a glimmer of hope. In Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night there are many aspects of the artwork that are symbolic of Van Gogh’s life struggles. It is easy for the viewer to assume that the aspects of Starry Night represent van Gogh’s time in the asylum, however, not all aspects represent his insanity and isolation. Starry Night is van Gogh’s representation of his biography inspired by his loss of faith, which can be seen and supported by the symbols of the church and the stars.
During Vincent’s time at the Saint-Rémy sanatorium, he painted one of his renowned landscape paintings, Starry Night in 1889. The choice of medium used was oil paint where Vincent famously displayed his impasto technique on the hemp material canvas. He wrote to his brother about his inspiration stating, “This morning I saw the country from my window a long time before sunrise, with nothing but the morning star, which looked very big” . Hence, you can infer that Starry Night was painted from the view of Vincent’s room where the background of the composition depicts the night scenery of a small and peaceful village, which juxtaposes the movements of the brightly lit sky. However, Vincent did not exactly follow what he saw from his window but painted from what he saw in his imagination, following the likes of Gauguin.
