Causes of the American Revolution

In 1775, the British came to new lands and created the colonies. The colonies had gone through many events that all lead up to the American Revolution. One of the events that pushed the Americans to revolt against the british; the stamp act which forced a stamp on every legal document. In a resolution, John Adams protested against the legality of the stamp act(Document 1).”...The Stamp Act...A very burdensome, and in our opinion unconstitutional tax is to be laid upon us all.” The quote explains how it is a very unneeded tax. March 5 1770, a group of colonists gathered in front of british troops and the troops let loose. In a resolution, The Sons of Liberty were a group of american colonists who favored independence from britain which occurred in boston. The document states, “In a confusion,a scuffle broke out and soldiers fired into the mob.” The british let loose into the crowd because they couldn't take a few light hits with a snowball or take words transferred to them by air! The quote proves how senseless the british are under a cloud of confusion, no danger awaited them; yet they fire anyway. In a resolution of the revolt by the colonists, the british sent several hundred british troops to Boston. The document now shows, “They labeled this unfortunate event the ‘boston massacre’...Hundreds of copies were printed. They were sent through all of the american colonies.” Without the unfortunate event being labeled “Boston massacre” and thousands of newspaper articles written about it, the colonist wouldn't have gotten to infuriated. Almost everyone in the colonies had heard the story and almost every colonist wanted to slice the troops throats for killing innocent people. The boston massacre was asad day for the colonists, but also a day to remember, a day for the colonists to think why do they still live under british rule. 1775, a new land was found and taken by storm by the british, they set up colonies, hundreds traveled from england to find jobs in the newly build colonies. All was not well, the british had gotten greedy and taxed, killed and stolen from the colonist. All these events eventually lead to the American Revolution. The stamp act forced every official document to have a stamp on it, townshend acts put tax on a number of goods to raise money for british government, and boston massacre, 5 dead and countless wounded.
