Critical thinking. Able to work as part of a team. Ability to promote change. I also have a strong sense of responsibility and this confirms that I am always organized, tidy and punctual in my timekeeping. I 'm cooperative and pleasant to others and have possessed sensitivity to all people. As an individual, I'm adaptable in all situations as a result of my caring history. My experience in life has led to an admiration for nurses as a result of the personal interactions I have had with the nurses who cared for me when I was seriously injured. The care and attention I had from the nurses and the team involved was phenomenal the dedication and passion they showed in caring for me, made me reflect and cogitate caring and
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner Student (FNP) at Frontier Nursing University (FNU). My passion to care for people was evident when I was growing up and I knew I wanted to become a nurse and care for the sick when I cared for my grandmother who was not feeling well. After high school, I started my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) and worked with the elderly population which I really enjoyed. I worked as a CNA as I enrolled to school and earned my Associate degree in nursing in 2011. As an RN, I continued to work in a nursing home and rehab facility with the elderly as I decided to pursue my BSN. Upon completion of my BSN I found a job at a hospital in cardiac telemetry heart failure unit where I enjoy working as I care for people.
My ambition is to graduate St. Francis College as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in the upcoming years. Although majoring in nursing will not be easy, I feel I am prepared for the challenge. At this time in my life I cannot see myself majoring in anything else. As a young girl, with a mother working in the medical field, I was always fascinated going to work with her. Working in a doctor’s office these past two and a half years myself has given me much experience with patients and has made it more to clear to me that this is what I want to pursue as a career. I wish to be a nurse because I seem to get a feeling of warmth and internal satisfaction when helping those in need. I have begun to learn that medicine is not the only cure for people’s ailments. It is the care they receive by those around them whether it is in a hospital, nursing home, or even their own home. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people 's lives by helping them recover.
My career commitment as a nurse has grown tremendously over the past three years; through my daily experiences as a Medical Assistant. I have devoted my time as a full time student and employee of the health care profession. Both of these occupations have helped shape me into the person I want to be for as long as time allows. Daily I witness these community role models that posses abilities such as problem solving skills, promotion and protection of an individual’s advocacy all tied in with compassion to meet the health care needs of an individual.
A personal attribute that will set me apart from other nurse practitioners is the health care experience that I have. Since I have worked continuously as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and a nurse intern since 2012, I have had the opportunity to work with patients on an extremely personal level. Working as a CNA has allowed me to work my way up through the field of nursing and it has given me countless learning
“Final call girl’s four by eight-hundred-meter relay” called the official. The Ontario Track girl’s four by eight-meter team trooped up to lane one, in unison. I would not have wanted to be racing with anyone else but my relay family. We had trained all season for this one race. Every workout, asthma attack, tear, and shin splint has lead up to this one race to break a twenty year old school record. As we jogged with the official from the bullpen to the starting line, the crowd had uproars of excitement for the athletes. An immense smile grew across my face, not only from the ecstatic crowd, but from the anticipation to race. I approached the starting line, in the first lane, while my teammates arrayed along the fence with the other second,
Many years ago I chose my studies to begin a career in the medical field. My original goal was to become a Pediatrician. However, at the end of my bachelor’s degree and after many hours spent volunteering at Miami Children’s Hospital, I decided that I wanted a career that would give me more patient provider interaction. I spoke with several doctors, nurses, and other health care providers and decided the best career for me was a Nurse Practitioner. I still have not decided on a specialty but I feel that path will come naturally with
In five years time, I would like to be acting as a Registered Nurse, utilizing the nursing skills and knowledge acquired during my post-baccalaureate program to improve the lives of the patients I will be caring for. As I sustain my career in the healthcare system, I will be constantly improving and building upon my skills, education and professional development. I originate from a long line of nurses and other healthcare professionals, and this makes me believe that my personal background will help me achieve my goal of becoming a nurse. Caring for people seems to be embedded in my personality. Just being able to initiate a smile on the faces of those I help, makes it all worthwhile. I am the kind of person who likes to ensure that everyone is happy and who is very open to people
Although it may sound cliché, ever since I was a little girl I had the desire to work in the medical field, whether it be a doctor or a nurse. The desire stemmed from listening to my aunt tell stories about operations that she had assisted in, or patients that she had seen and their perplexing ailments. I was never phased by blood, and watching how the human body worked was something that made me excited and eager to learn more. When I was first asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I proudly said, an anesthesiologist. Since that day, I’ve worked hard to reach each milestone that will help me get closer to my goal. My intended future goal is to become a CRNA, which requires the successful completion of my nursing degree.

The profession is loaded with numerous employment and personal advancement opportunities, and I am motivated to study pre-pharmacy since it will spark of my innovativeness and optimistic that my future days would be worth the trouble.
I've very adaptive to new technology such as programs used for online documentation and electronic MARS. Other registered staff in my unit often comes to me for problem solving and troubleshooting with our online documentation program. I always put my patients first and I take the time to listen to my patients & families, no matter how busy my schedule may be. I work well under pressure and in a solo or team environment. I strive to become more knowledgeable in nursing in order to provide the best care I can to my clients In order to excel at my profession and passion I need to do everything I can to make myself better. As part of that, I did not stop with Bachelors, I did my masters, then I did Medical-surgical certification & I am also certified preceptor, have certification from UCF. My upbringing developed my core beliefs of community, family, loyalty, compassion and honesty. It also taught me that all things worthwhile require hard work. I love being a nurse, but recognize my yearning for more. I love nursing and have enjoyed my time as a floor nurse although my work experiences are acutely based, I have observed the direct relation between primary and acute care. As a nurse primarily working with patients, I have observed how patient miseducation, miscommunication, and
I have always had a faciniation with the inner workings of the human body, even more so a passion to care for people while in their most vulnerable state. I strive for excellence and will make it my mission to make a positive difference with every patient I encounter. While I fully understand that the nursing profession is about providing patient care, I often do not look at people merely as patients, but as people struggling with difficult circumstances and relying on me to help figure out what is wrong and aid them in the healing process. I have also always known what I have wanted to be. While it has taken me some time to get
Ever since I was a little girl I had imagined myself working in the medical field. However, back then I did not have any personal drive towards this type of career path. In 2014, that all changed. On March 27, 2014, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. After five months of rigorous chemotherapy, falling behind in classes, and struggling to keep myself mentally stable, I was finally cancer-free. Those five months proved to be the most brutal, but also the most memorable. Having to be in the hospital for long periods of time had a great influence on the way I thought about nurses, and the work they do to ensure their patients’ needs were being met. This is how I found myself drawn towards a career in nursing. My personal fundamental values as an individual are kindheartedness, sincerity, family, and continuous learning. I plan on integrating these personal core values with what I believe to be the core values of nursing which are compassion, knowledge, and honesty. Patients who are shown compassion by nurses are seen to be much more relaxed in times of sickness and pain. Knowledge is important because improving knowledge is an essential to avoid mistakes and errors, delivering higher quality care for patients. Lastly, it is extremely important to comprehend the necessity of maintaining honesty and integrity in one’s practice so that the patient’s sense of self is not compromised. While I believe these to be the core values of nursing, I believe that the focus of nursing is on the
Caring for others has always been a passion of mine, and becoming a nurse has always been my dream. While my dream has turned reality, I can say that nursing has blessed me with the opportunity to not only be a servant to those in my community, but it has also allowed me to be of some comfort to patients and their loved ones during their darkest and most vulnerable moments. Nursing offers a variety of opportunities, where the only restrictions are the ones we set for ourselves. As for myself, all things are possible, for if I want it, I strongly believe it’s already mine. The depths that I will go to reach the latitude of success that I so desire is boundless.
“Helping people on their path to better health” is a quote used by CVSHealth, I first heard it during the orientation for my pharmacy technician job. I love this quote because it really defines my purpose for wanting to be a pharmacist in the simplest way. My journey to becoming a pharmacists consist of why I selected pharmacy as a career, future goals, and my backgrounds that will help me achieve the goals that I set for myself.
