Abraham Lincoln was one of America’s finest presidents, he lead America through the civil war, the civil war in America, it was one of the bloodiest and in doing so he prevented the civil war as a president and as a leader for America, he also preserved the union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government and modernised the government's economy. Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky in 1809 February 12th, Lincoln was very educated as he was self educated, Lincoln soon had became a lawyer in Illinois, he was in a party known as the Whig Party, he was also accounted as leader of this party, he was also a member of the Illinois House of Representatives, which
General John C. Fremont was a well known Union general at the beginning of the Civil War with a previous career in politics and in the military. He had what many would say was a successful career in politics and also helped to map the upper Mississippi River. There was much speculation as to why the Union Army suffered great defeat along with the loss of their General Nathaniel Lyon at the Battle of Wilson’s Creek. It is believed that General Fremont was an inept leader, one that was out of touch with his troops and the situation in which they were in along with failing to provide the proper support General Lyon. Abraham Lincoln, guided his country through the most devastating experience during his time—the Civil War. He is considered by many historians and people to have been the greatest American president. Abraham Lincoln, was a self-taught Illinois lawyer and a legislator with a belief that every man should be free in America. Many were shock that he had overcome several prominent continents in the Republicans Party’s nomination for president in 1860. In the North many people agreed that is was fair to let the slaves be free, but for the south who need slaves for picking cotton were not so happy. People in the South, called the confederates hated the idea of freeing the slaves, and this is how the Civil War started.

Some background information is he was born on February 12,1809 and he died April 15,1865 ,he signed the emancipation proclamation. In my opinion he was the best president for the the united states. He became president on the day of November 6,1860.

He has made many difficult decisions throughout his presidency and will go down in history as the really tall 16th president, but also as the one who put the Emancipation Proclamation into action.

Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809, Hodgenville KY. He was also known as the greatest hero of the United States during the civil war era.
Across time, political leaders have often been remembered for their greatness by how they faced challenges than with what particular skills or abilities they had during their time in office. This statement is known to be true as political leaders are often expected to solve certain issues or challenges when in office and if their contributions benefit the state or country. Additionally, history books, records, and scholarly journals will take note of a leader’s response to challenges, how they are handled, and if the issue is solved more than whether they adequately used certain skills and abilities to solve the problem. In short, challenges, when faced, allow the political leaders to be remembered more so than their talents.

During the Civil War, the North and South split into two sides – the Union in the north led by president Lincoln and the Confederacy in the south led by president Davis. Originally, the Civil War was not an attempt by Lincoln to abolish slavery and emancipate the slaves, but to preserve and protect the Union, but later Lincoln decided that ending slavery was a key step necessary to winning the war. Abraham Lincoln opposed the Mexican American War, since he argued it was unnecessary and unconstitutional. He questioned the U.S. president’s honesty and even accuses the president’s justification to be “from beginning to end, the sheerest deception.” Furthermore, he criticizes the president for supporting the war with arguments and not facts. He also bashes on the president’s mentality on a personal level. Moreover, Abraham Lincoln argues that President Polk is lying about the initial cause of the war in which the casualties took place.
Abraham Lincoln was considered by many American’s as one of the greatest Presidents of the United States. Having come from humble beginnings it could be said that Abraham Lincoln rose up to meet all the challenges that would greet him, and it could be argued that at the time the only person who could successfully guide the United States through the Civil War was Abraham Lincoln. At the time of his presidency, the United States was falling apart, with the South trying to secede from the North, creating much chaos that Lincoln had to deal with. He worked slowly and throughly, which sometimes got people agitated but he was a very careful working man and knew that it was better if he took his time. Abraham Lincoln was not
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States of America. He served as President when the country was under war. Abe Lincoln was born in 1806 and grew up in the countryside as a pioneer. His mother died at a young age and he had a sister. His father married a widow that had three children and Abe Lincoln liked her very much. Every day he attended school and worked very hard on his father's farm.
Abraham Lincoln is known as the sixteenth president of the United States. A self-taught lawyer by trade who was born in a one room cabin in Kentucky, he came from meek beginnings. Mr. Lincoln was only known to have a few years of formal schooling he had to work to help support his family. He moved to the capital of Illinois and practiced as a lawyer. This is where he earned his nick name of Honest Abe. He was known to help the common man. He met and married a woman named Mary Todd. They had four sons. One of which passed away with Typhoid fever. He was shot by John Wilkes Booth in Ford’s theater on April 14, 1865 and died the very from a gunshot to the head. He never lived to see the Union win the war with the plans he helped devise. He next day is known in history for his moving speeches. Two of the main speeches are the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation. Both of these are remembered today as turning points in history. Honest Abe was not only our president but a leader in that he felt like he needed to protect our constitution and the rights it afforded us but also protect the Union. He was a level headed man in a time of war and conflict. He was elected to office when the Union was in a state of unrest due to the issue of slavery. Several states succeeded when he was elected to office. This set up a series of events that lead to the beginning of the civil war. The steps that he took forever changed the history of the United States.
Abraham Lincoln was a self-educated lawyer who did not support slavery. He surprised many people when he became the 16th President mainly because he beat out several promising contenders. During the Civil War Lincoln became quite brilliant with military strategy and an excellent wartime leader. With the Union on the brink of victory Lincoln became a martyr when he was shot and killed by a Confederate sympathizer by the name of John Wilkes Booth. Over time Lincoln became known as one of the greatest Presidents of all time.
