Abortion - Views from Both Sides
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth and is morally wrong. An abortion results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Abortion destroys the lives of helpless, innocent children and is illegal in many countries. By aborting these unborn infants, humans are hurting themselves; they are not allowing themselves to meet these new identities and unique personalities. Abortion is very simply wrong. Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong so why isn’t abortion? People argue that it is not murder since the fetus being destroyed is not living, breathing and moving. Why is it that if an infant is destroyed a month before the birth, there is no problem, but if

However, how and when an abortion takes place are matters of little importance to pro- abortionists and other defenders. Even former abortion practitioners from varying backgrounds and religions have a new view on abortion. These changes of heart were caused by psychological, religious and scientific reasons. One doctor, Dr. Bernard Nathanson, performed 60,000 abortions and supervised 10,000, before scientific evidence and the use of an ultrasound, convinced him he was promoting and participating what he now calls "the most atrocious holocaust in the history of the United States." Other doctors refuse to perform legal abortions, saying they should save lives rather than destroy them.
Others have different opinions. Abortion clinics are not a "butcher’s place" where young babies are murdered. They provide a choice for women whether or not to bring a child into this world. What is worse: taking away the life of an unborn child that is not even aware of life itself yet, or a mother bringing an unwanted child into this world, knowing that she will not be able to take care of it, and that her child will have to suffer from the poor circumstances in which she lives. As of now the woman has the ability to make that choice and save the child from poor, possibly abusive or hate filled environment. Personally I feel that living in a circumstance such as abuse is worse than the abortion of the fetus. Rape
Abortion has been an issue of heated debate in the United States for numerous years. Legislation has ruled it legal to perform an abortion on any gestational age of an embryo or fetus. Some people agree with the law and consider themselves pro-choice. Others are completely against abortion and are pro-life. In addition to these two groups is another group who support abortion in the first half of pregnancy, but believe abortion should be banned for the second half.

Yet, it is your duty to look after your baby. As Kant suggests, if you
Though people may think that abortion is right at the time it’s not. “The killing an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human beings by the US government.” (by abortion procon.org). Killing an innocent child is wrong. In most cases, women become unhealthy most of the time after getting an abortion, not to mention the child. People will say it’s “woman’s choice”, that doesn’t mean it’s right to murder a child.
Abortion is a serious topic that people have been debating about for years. Everywhere you turn the topic of abortion presents itself, on TV, in the newspapers, in books and magazines. It already has, and will continue to cause, controversy for years to come. As long as abortion remains legal, pro-life advocates will continue to protest what they believe to be these horrible acts of murder.
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. An abortion can also be induced which means steps are taken purposely to end the pregnancy. “Induced” abortions are legal, safe, and usually done by doctors. Almost half of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned, which means about $1.3 million in 1996 were aborted. A woman has the ‘right’ to choose if her child lives or dies, but what about the baby? Doesn’t the baby get a say? How would a person feel if someone took away their ability to live? Women are a mother as soon as they become pregnant, how could a mother tell her child they are unwanted and should be killed? Some people think it’s all right to abort children,
Of all the legal, ethical, and moral issues we Americans continuously fight for or against, abortion may very well be the issue that Americans are most passionate about. The abortion issue is in the forefront of political races. Most recently the “no taxpayer funding for abortion act”, has abortion advocates reeling. Even though abortion has been legal in every state in the United States since the monumental Supreme Court decision, “Roe v Wade”, on January 22, 1973; there are fewer physicians willing to perform abortions today than in 2008. (Kraft) At the heart of the ethical dilemma for many in the medical profession is the viability of the fetus. And just to make this whole dilemma more confusing, according to the United States
Abortion destroys the lives of helpless and innocent babies that have not done anything wrong. Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong, so why is not abortion? Defenders of abortion argue that it is not murder if the child is unborn. So, why is it that if an infant is destroyed a month before the birth, there is no problem, but if killed a month after birth, it is considered as inhumane murder?
The world has been in constant turmoil over the issue of abortion over many of years. Religion, moral beliefs, choice, pro-life, conception, ect, are major themes introduced during arguments regarding whether abortion is wrong or not. In 1973, in the case of Roe v. Wade abortion was legalized at the federal level, but ultimately it was left up to the states to choose how they wanted to oversee abortion laws. The state of New Jersey has a proposed a new law “S2026: “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act,” which bans abortion 20 weeks or more after fertilization. Compared to other states New Jersey has an abortion law that is restricted lightly for the patients and for the practitioners. Cherry Hill Women’s Center reports that currently in New Jersey “woman can access an abortion through 24 weeks in her pregnancy based on her last menstrual period (LMP). However, in New Jersey, all abortions past 14 weeks in pregnancy must be performed in either a state licensed ambulatory surgical center or a hospital, so there are very few facilities that can perform a procedure at that stage in pregnancy”(1). Understanding the current conditions of abortion in the state of New Jersey and the propose change to abortion is going to be the foundation of the analysis of this new proposed policy.
Abortion has become a sensitive topic for many. Personally, I have pro-life beliefs with pro-choice circumstances. Although I do not agree with the overall concept of abortions, I know it will continue to happen whether I like it or not. Thus, I prefer the process to be done safely. Additionally, no matter what my opinion is, everyone has their own rights. After reading this article, there are many aspects in which I agree with Carol Sanger. Firstly, I agree with her statements on the ultrasound laws, “to be persuaded against exercising the right you came in with.” I do not agree with the ultrasound laws. A women should have the right to choose if she wants to see the ultrasound pictures or not. They should not be forced in order to change
There is a growing debate on whether abortion should be banned from being used. There is an argument going on between the political parties in office. The Democrats seem to agree that abortion should be used if needed. The Republican party seem to completely disagree with Democrats, they say that abortion should be banned from being used in America. This problem seems to affect women the most because, they feel that they should have the right to decide if they want to have the child or not.
The Ethics Of Abortion is a very controversial subject that has been continually argued over for the past few years and probably many more years to come. The main controversy is should abortion remain legalized? Before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mother’s womb. This can be done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by clinics set up especially for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion topic, the PRO-LIFE, which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO- CHOICE or those who believe it is the woman’s right to
People say abortion is “killing babies.” You are not killing babies when you have an abortion. Abortions usually take place during the first trimester of the pregnancy. The babies haven’t even developed a nervous system or a functioning brain yet. They are not capable of living independently. They only have the potential to become a person, but they aren’t yet. It surely can’t feel emotional distress or pain.
Abortion is the act of terminating a human pregnancy and it is a cruel crime committed by many women. It is a widespread topic around the world and society is either for it or against it. Unexpected situations can happen to everyone, but that does not make it right to abort a child. A rape victim might not intend on having a baby they were not planning due to the violent act they cannot control, but abortion is wrong because it is murder, adoption is always an alternative, and it is unfair the unborn child cannot speak up for him/herself.
“I thought ‘a person is a person no matter how small.’ but apparently anything goes as long as it’s done within medical room walls.” –Samuel Daily. Abortion is murder and murder is wrong! Abortion kills people. A baby is a person and people do not magically disappear. Before they leave this world, they must somehow die. Most abortion cases do not happen due to “rape-babies” and the murder of a pregnant woman is double homicide in many states. Termination of a pregnancy is often performed by inhumane methods.
