Back when the now seventy-nine-year old performer was only eight, her stepfather decided to get her singing lessons. Her teacher Lillian Stiles-Allen was hired promptly and began instructing young Andrews in operatic techniques. No sooner did they start training did they discover Andrews possessed a freakish four-octave voice, and an exceptionally advanced vocal talent and “crystalline” tone quality for an eight year old girl. Stiles-Allen states Andrews “possessed the rare gift of absolute pitch,” and even wrote a
Ann Wilson and her Sister Nancy were born to their mother Lou, a concert pianist and choir singer, and their father John, a former marine and musician. Due to their father’s job, they moved around frequently. They lived near American military facilities before settling in Seattle. To keep the feeling of home where ever they were they would always listen to music. “On Sunday we’d have pancakes and opera,” “My dad would be conducting in the living room. We’d turn it way up and rock,” (Nancy Wilson) In the spring of 1963 Ann fell sick with mononucleosis and had to miss three months of school. To keep Ann entertained, her mother bought her a guitar. Ann never took to the guitar, but it was Nancy who took over the instrument. Even though Nancy became the guitar player in the family, Ann showed great talent as a singer.
"Kai, bring your cute ass over here! We got a song to record!" Treasure says. She looks over at me, with her gorgeous hazel eyes. They're lined with thin black eyeliner, creating wings at the ends. Her long natural curls fall over her shoulders, almost the same shade of brown as her skin. She's my female singer, and a lost love. We dated for awhile, but it ended tragically after I got addicted to groupie love.

With everything being so hectic lately, being at the Christmas concert helped give Kamryn motivation. In a post that also included what she thought of the Christmas concert, she included that she had been feeling sad and down lately. Kamryn said that she hasn't felt the spirit for a while. That being about her religion and not feeling close to God. Kamryn said, "I took in every song that the BYU choir and David Archuleta sang." In another post Kamryn presents herself as a girl who is passionate about music and the guitar. Kamryn said in the post, "A guitar can help a musician speak feelings or emotions they never knew they had." In that post Kamryn shows that music is what helps her speak her feelings and emotions she can't tell people in her own words, but that she has to sing them to tell people. Another intention of this post is that music is a good stress reliever. Whenever Kamryn feels overwhelmed with everything she has to do in her life like school and work in her free time she is able to relieve some stress and express herself through music, especially through the sound of her guitar. Also along with Kamryn being able to play the guitar, she can also
It has been an honor to have been Renee Rule’s high school peer for the last four years. I have seen her flourish not only her musical journey as her stand partner, but also her academic journeys as her fellow classmate.
Iman Aaliyah was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Early on she was attracted to the arts with a strong desire to sing, dance, and perform the many story books that lined the walls of her childhood. Though thoughts of being a professional performer had not been amongst the list of career possibilities that she envisioned for herself as an adolescent the arts has always been a love that seemed mysteriously just out of reach. It wasn’t until attending Milford Mill Academy, cast in her first play, that she officially found performing to be her passion and dream. From that moment theater and she became inseparable. Graduating with a handful shows under her belt and a Cosmetology license she decided to take a year off before diving back into

Selling more than 40 million records and winning 13 Grammys, Ella Jane Fitzgerald is considered to be the “most outstanding, non-operatic singer of the twentieth century” (Gridley 85). She sung her way into America’s hearts with the rich, smooth, and versatile sound of her voice. She could sing anything from sultry ballads to imitating the best saxophonists and trumpeters with her effortless scat singing. Although Ella had a difficult upbringing, her music was tremendously uplifting and light.

After the critical success of her breakthrough album Visions and its singles Oblivion and Genesis, Claire Boucher learned everything she could – including guitar – to bring her GarageBand-driven music to another level. Her electronic and vapoury qualities are still decipherable on Art Angels, but the scope of influences has strikingly increased. While fundamentally a pop album, the Canadian native brings absolute bangers (Kill V. Maim), hip-hop (Scream), Indie rock (Flesh Without Blood) and more. The once shy and awkward girl is now strong, bold, confident, powerful and, well, still a bit
Many young people seek to use music to help themselves be more accepted in the world, so that they can be easily categorisable in the mainstream. Many girls of ages 9 13 may have an interest in a popular boy band' of the time. This is an example of how, though a girl's identity could be partly influenced by such a band, ultimately, their music and appeal is limited in scope because after four or five years the band is likely to have split up. The media promotes such a band because it targets girls who are seeking to find an identity and because these years
