Within this essay i will be writing about interaction design i will cover my chosen subject in detail via the extensive research i have gathered. I will define and analyse interaction design using key examples of this design practise both historical and contemporary.
I have chosen to focus my essay on interaction design as I’ve recently finished a project on wave two witch my final out come was a design/ prototype for an interactive phone application that allowed the user to get advise on editing there CV in order to improve there chances of getting work. I focused my design to be simple to use in hope that every user would be able to understand on how to easterly with out any confusion navigate the app when using it. I have always been aware about interactive ensign but that was the first time i practised it myself.
from the information i have gathered and what i have know before my definition interaction design is pretty much built of the basis of graphic design itself you need to have fundamental skills of knowing how to use the colour theory, typography, follow the grid, point line and form most or even all the techniques used in graphic design. Where as technology has improved these days interactive design has never been used so much as it is today. Being used on loads of new interactive devices such as, tablets computers, net books, phones iPhones blackberries apps, television, ATM machines, computer games, travel card machines, social networks, blogs,
Through Level 3, I have been able to gain valuable knowledge about various areas in IT from websites to programming. The area of technology I would prefer to help in is the development of HCI and I would like to learn more about what software that could potentially be developed. In the specification for your course, the module Interaction Design is an exact link with this involving Human Computer Interaction directly. This may include voice communication that is very early in development including Cortana. As I have undertaken this course, I discovered there would be a higher demand
Evaluate the extent to which electronic communication enhances or detracts from the quality of interpersonal communication compared to face-to-face communication. Your analysis must engage with three elements of interpersonal communication (for example, eye contact or gestures) and discuss how each is affected by one particular electronic channel of communication. Your essay should be grounded in communication theory from appropriate academic sources.
The well-known writer and cognitive scientist/cofounder of the Nielsen Norman Group, Donald A. Norman, in his book, Emotional Design: “Why we love (or hate) everyday things”, he analyzes the design elements in products. Norman’s purpose is to show why products we use should not be hard to use but attractive and fun. He explains in tremendous detail how the design of an object affects a person emotionally. He argues that in order for an object to be more successful it must be more attractive to the users. Norman uses concrete evidence to back up his argument. He employs the use of imagery, diction and tone in order to convey to his readers the idea of emotional design.
Having the ability to manipulate people may concern others. However, not for a character named Abigail in the book “The Crucible” by Arthur Miller. Furthermore, Abigail manipulates people in the village into thinking she is not a witch. In addition, she cause this drama because she wants to maintain a good reputation to the peers around her. Not to mention, later in the book she threatens the girls who performed witchcraft with her not to confess. On the other hand, the Puritans in this story has a strong faith to their savior name God. This has an impact onto the story written by Miller because it highlights their true values to God and how far they are willing to go just to prove their devotion. In this essay, I will discuss how reputation
The central idea, the use of electronics is affecting people’s social skills, is made obvious through the writer’s choice of words. “We converse with our hands rather than our mouths, tapping keyboards and touchpads to the rhythm of our thoughts.” (Brown 1) The use of the words converse and rhythm
User experience is the art of understanding your user and strives to provide the best possible experience. UX design is the process of designing (digital or physical) products that are useful, easy to use, and delightful to interact with. It's about enhancing the experience that people have while interacting with your product, and making sure they find value in what you're providing.
The following analysis takes a look at scenario-based usability engineering and software architecture-based design and the effects, if any, of each given design technique on software quality attributes as defined by McCall. McCall lists the following attributes as part of a quality software product: correctness, reliability, efficiency, integrity, usability, maintainability, flexibility, testability, portability, reusability, and interoperability. These quality attributes will be used as evaluating factors in determining whether scenario-based usability engineering or software architecture-based design can help significantly increase the chances of meeting a project’s goal with respect to that quality attribute. This analysis should provide an overarching view as to which design scenario is best suited for a project given a set of desired quality goals. Below is an introduction to the two methods being compared.
Many people have argued that pornography is a form of artistic expression, protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution, others feel there is a distinct line between art and “porn” (Pornogrpahy). Pornography is made to provide sexual pleasure to anyone who hears, sees or reads it, it involves erotic acts. Pornography could be talking, “acting,” or anything that may sexually stimulate someone. Pornography is also, the portrayal of sexual activities and it comes in the form of magazines, movies, videos, and more. Pornography is often seen to overstep the bounds of the First Amendment and misrepresent what is means by freedom of speech. Pornography isn’t something that everyone can agree on. For example, feminist are one group of people have a variety of feelings and beliefs towards pornography. While feminist usually share the same way of thinking this is one topic that causes a major division between them. Disagreeing to agree is a common compromise that people face in life, but in the case of pornography feminist can not seem to do so.
Meredith Davis’s book “Graphic Design Theory” was published in September 2012 by Thames & Hudson. This book blends a study of historical thinking of design with contemporary / modern approach to it. It also suggests students to critically analyse their work and asks them to adopt the design theories to embellish their practical design work as it will help them construct better work. This book also helps in understanding the consumers and the history of Graphic Design and also talks about a range of theories and introduces a collection of concepts and sources for future use and reference. In this book, Meredith Davis talks about the relationship of visual representation to the contexts of design. It talks about focusing on the broad and long term aftereffects of design and not to design only for the moment and responding to prompt needs.
the interaction with the people and their needs. And accordingly the design which I made takes
In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, symbolism and allegories were used to show how the children who are stranded on an island have a huge struggle with civilization and savagery. Ralph, Piggy, Jack, and Simon are the ones in the novel that struggle with this the most.
According to Richard Buchanan, in his article “Declaration by Design: Rhetoric, Argument, and Demonstration in Design Practice,” communication, or more specifically, rhetoric, is a central component of all design. Rhetoric, in this case, means persuasive communication, or an “art of shaping society, changing the course of individuals and communities, and setting patterns for new action.” The rise in technology has caused it to be a vital aspect within design and rhetoric. A more prominent aspect of this article, however, is the three elements of design argument. These elements are logos, or technological reasoning and bridge between natural and social sciences, ethos, or the character and bridge between ethics and politics, and pathos, the
All sources used in this work have been correctly referenced, using the Harvard system of in-text referencing. The work does not contain any sections that can be regarded as either a cut-and-paste technique, as a mere translation, or as ‘mono-phrasing’ (work taken from a single source). I realize that a design research argument has to be constructed, and declare that my text is a reflection of the integration of relevant sources.
As the system progressed further into the Detail Design and Development phase, the contractor to develop and integrate the system was identified as Northrop Grumman. As a leading global security firm, Northrop Grumman was selected for their proven expertise in the development and integration of innovative information systems in the government and commercial sector. The system was named Global Combat Support System – Army to provide continuity across the branches of the U.S. Military as similar upgrades took place in the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.
Designing a course can seem overwhelming. Even more so, designing a course that effectively involves and stimulates students can seem downright impossible. As an award-wining educator (student voted), I’ve constructed this guide to walk you through the process of creating interactive courses for any subject matter and via any instructional method (i.e., face-to-face, online, etc.).
