From June 2015 to July 2016, I worked at an assisted living home, which I will refer to as Summerville Peaks (although this is not its real name). Assisted living homes are a place for senior citizens where they can receive services such as nursing care, assistance with daily living, housekeeping, and meals, while being able to maintain a level of independence. Summerville Peaks (SP) is designed similarly to a hotel in that it has individual apartments within a large facility. Like most assisted living (AL) homes, SP has on-site nursing staff, direct care staff, housekeepers, and three full meals served every day.
