A communication-leadership statement that appeals to me and that I frequently is as follow; “A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they do not necessarily want to go but ought to be, and they get there happily” Rosalynn Carter. I am so fond of this statement and often apply it whenever I am playing the role of a leader in any setting including work, family and social gathering. Being passionate to this statement has greatly improved my act of leading positively as I often make sure to use some form of motivation and inspiration when leading.
Motivation has been a strategy that I follow whenever I am leading and will definitely continue to be the cornerstone strategy of my leadership style. Although motivation begins inwardly, leaders using motivation must be capable of generating this inner power in team members. Where there is desire and ambition, motivation is definitely generated. Therefore, as a

This is first of all due to the attention I got when I am talking to others, how I pay attention to their reaction-both positive and negative reaction. Often, I gave my audience or my team the time to expression themselves, brought forth their ideas, and if there is better chance applying their ideas, I often followed. When leading a project, no matter how good I might be at this project, I still gave the opportunity to my team to share their thoughts and at the end, we will come out with a common method that the team should use. When there is an ongoing project or situation that I am in control, I continuously go round, talk to those involve, listen to their concerns, propose solutions and give some motivational words. Encouraging people around me and inspiring them with my behavior and did is another point that I and others can tell that I am communicating as a
A wise woman once said “A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves.” These wise words were stated by the 32nd U.S. First Lady and civil rights activist, Eleanor Roosevelt. This quote has shaped the leader I am today and inspired my leadership philosophy. I believe a leader should always lead in a way that inspires others to be greater. As an older sister, I aspire for my sister to have confidence in me but also in themselves. This also applies to any leadership opportunity. I also believe that a great leader must also be a great follower. This has proven essential in my life and strengthened my leadership skills. My time as a follower has made me the leader
“Lead by example.” -Anonymous. This is a quote that I think really represents me because I may not always be the most outgoing, but I show my leadership by being a role model. I have been able to prove to myself and others around me that I can be a leader and example in anything I do. My major leadership accomplishments have come from volunteer experiences.
A leader can motivate their team by recognising the desire, if it’s a feeling the person wants to do this is inner desire. If the motivation is they need to complete this is a means to an end, possibly doing the job to earn their
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” John C. Maxwell
Whether you think you can or can’t you are right’-Henry Ford. I believe that we are all placed in this earth to not simply ‘survive’ but to see how we will react to every challenge that comes our way. I believe that it is important to remind your peers that they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. Through my experiences as a leader, community participant, and fellow coworker I have been able to motivate and build talent amongst my peers. A leader is not created by the title but by leading by example.
There are many ways of communicating ethos, mission aims and values. However the best way to communicate this is by ensuring us as adults display the behaviours we want to see, we must be kind and considerate, as this is the behaviour the children will follow. They can also be communicated via the written word, through reports, letters and the school prospectus. As long as this information is readily available it can be a very effective way of communicating the above, as it means that they are always on hand to refer back to.
Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it - by Dwight Eisenhower
“In order to be a good leader, there are two things to remember. Lead from the Front and always set the Example. From these two leadership principles, everything else will fall into place.”
If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more & become more, you are a leader. - John Quincy Adams
“Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done, because he wants to do it”. -34th President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower.
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
To inspire and influence others, a leader must possess many skills and abilities. As motivational speaker Peter Northouse, states, “a leader should be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant” (Northouse, 2013) Moving an entire group of individuals toward a singular goal is a considerable undertaking. Without effective communication skills and a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished, one will feel like they are trying to herd cats rather than leading.
“Leadership is influencing others by your character, humility, and example. It is recognizable when others follow in word and deed without obligation or coercion”.( Sonny Newman, president of contract manufacturer EE Technologies)
Throughout high school, I was fortunate to hold several leadership positions. Being in the leadership group taught me the importance of having a vision and taking initiative in order to lead effectively. But most importantly, it taught me that effective communication is key to good leadership.
Both motivation and leadership are the foundation to a company’s success and in the absence of any of these a company can loss its position and reputation in the market. These two factors helps the employees to behave and perform in certain way by keeping them orderly and focused to accomplish a goal (Bowditch et al., 2008). It gives a perceptual check to individuals to help them to sense the world by establishing social reality and providing meaning to events and situations (Nahavandi, 2012). I am going to use following theories in support of my points:-
