Commercial #1:
Teacher: Good morning, class!
Students: *(grumbling) Good morning, Mrs. _______________.
Teacher: I wanted to remind you all that 8th hour will be open every day this week in the cafeteria. This is a great opportunity for you to improve your grades, do homework, study for tests, or work on projects.
Student A: That sounds so lame. Why would I stay at school more than I have to already?
Student C: Don’t be hatin’. It has actually really helped me stay caught up on work. I was getting all C’s last quarter, and now I have a B+ in everything but Math. I’m still working on that one.
Student B: Dude, you never know what it’s like till you try it.
Student A: Yeah, but I never do well. Who goes to 8th hour anyway?
Student C: Katie and I have gone a few times to study for tests.
Student D: I go every day just to get my work done before practice.

Hello Everyone, my name is Jessica. I have been attending FSW for three years. After about a year of attending FSW, I discovered the paralegal program and have loved it ever since. I currently work as an assistant manager at Dollar Tree but desire to be a paralegal in the near future. I’m excited to learn even more about the legal field throughout this class.
"It is now three o'clock. If you are not under the direct supervision of a teacher please report to the cafeteria," the loudspeaker announces. Daily many students spend their time waiting in the lunchroom after the final bell rings. Some students are waiting for their ride while others do homework with friends. Some spring sports, like tennis, do not start their practices directly after school which leaves them waiting. To accommodate for these students and athletes, the A la Carte area of the cafeteria is opening after school from 2:10 to 2:45 p.m.

phone. Later, once I arrived home, I found out my best friend was murdered. Ebaneke did not make it through being a Domestic Abuse victim, she did not survive. The entire months I was out of communication, she was looking for me. I was going through all this harassment, abuse, and I could not hear her. I was so stressed that I could not think. Her family was even looking for me, but I put my all into her murder case to help close it. I suffered a great deal of loss dealing with this matter because domestic abuse has forever changed me. I no longer see Arkansas, especially Little Rock the same anymore. I am afraid to come to Little Rock because of the fear of running into him. I still become paranoid when someone knocks at the door, I get paranoid
Due to classes starting later in the day, it will affect the way students act in class. "I know many students that come in and are just struggling to stay awake," she
At the end of my Junior year I was inducted in the National Honor Society. Prior to my Junior year as I mentioned in my scholarship letter I without a doubt had no clue to what I wanted to do, after taking medical science, and nursing assistant I knew I wanted to either become an Occupational Therapist or a Pediatric Nurse. Before being a part of Honor Society I didn’t even know it existed, so it truly caught me by surprise. Since the beginning of my junior year I knew that I wanted to challenge myself in classes more than before, that was what I did. When I received the letter saying I was to be a part this high honor it felt like the work I had done all year was paying off. It pushed me to want to do more, so I did. I applied at the UW nurse
Chromebooks are a new technology that have been implemented into Green High Schools education system. Are they better for the students or the teachers? Do they truly help the education system? Have they made it easier for students to cheat? Have they created lazy teachers? Should teachers be able to change due dates change overnight? There are simply so many questions about the Chromebooks. Faculty seem to love them and on the other hand many students seem to hate them. As a student I have grown to hate these miniature trash bins for many reasons. When the wifi goes out absolutely nothing can be done. The pieces of technology are prone to break quite easily. Furthermore it has created a crutch for many faculty at Green High School. Chromebooks truly have created a hassle for our young adults at GHS.
It was a bright hot summer day here in Little Pine First Nation, where the events took place. The chief and councillor’s had organized a fun filled day with family and friends spending it with one another. As the hot dreadful heat of the day goes by slowly the community is together as one enjoying the music blasted. The bass was pounding on my concession booth the good old country music that everyone likes. Kids are screaming, parents are cheering, cars and trucks are ramming, horses are stomping as they too are getting excited for the big day to start.
As a middle school student gets ready to transfer into high school, students get the opportunity to choose their electives. I wasn’t ready to choose an elective, I was just trying to get through middle school. One day we had an assembly where high school students went to talk about the electives that were offered at the school. As I sat at the very back of the cafeteria, I remember seeing four girls with elegant uniforms. The uniforms are known as “Dress Blues”. They consist of long-sleeve midnight blue coats with folded lapels, white shirts under their coats and black knee-high skirts with some pumps. Two of the girls were holding flags, one was an American flag and the other was a Marine Corps flag. The other two girls in uniform were holding riffles and standing at attention. Standing beside the girls, stood a tall white male with great posture. He was the Sargeant, and the girls followed his commands.
I failed AP English. I had missed the second quarter of the school year, almost completely, due to… technical difficulties. I got discharged from the hospital mid-February, and for the remainder of junior year, the majority of my waking thoughts revolved around passing 11th grade. With motivational speeches coming at me from my parents, friends, and teachers, I began to believe I had a chance of passing the year. I did my best, which apparently was not enough. My teacher had picked up on my tremendous amount of effort, and on the last day of school, bumped my grade up to a low D — just enough to pass. I was not exactly about to put my grade on display or anything, but I passed! Technically. This is not one of the underdog-who-succeeded stories. The real success for me was (look away, it’s cliché) realizing my best was enough. I sound disgusting.
As I placed the car into park, turned the key off and stepped into the crisp cold winter air, I begin to feel my pulse raise. With each step we took drawing us closer to the door, I felt my heart beating faster. With a quick turn of the ice cold door knob, I found myself standing in a whole new world. The food, the music, the faces, the language, everything was different than what I knew. For the first time in my life I was the minority in my small home town of Winamac, Indiana.
