As a middle school student gets ready to transfer into high school, students get the opportunity to choose their electives. I wasn’t ready to choose an elective, I was just trying to get through middle school. One day we had an assembly where high school students went to talk about the electives that were offered at the school. As I sat at the very back of the cafeteria, I remember seeing four girls with elegant uniforms. The uniforms are known as “Dress Blues”. They consist of long-sleeve midnight blue coats with folded lapels, white shirts under their coats and black knee-high skirts with some pumps. Two of the girls were holding flags, one was an American flag and the other was a Marine Corps flag. The other two girls in uniform were holding riffles and standing at attention. Standing beside the girls, stood a tall white male with great posture. He was the Sargeant, and the girls followed his commands. …show more content…
The name of the program was called MCJROTC. It stood for the Marine Corp Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. They represented the Marine Corps color guard team of Fontana High school. While talking to the cadets, they informed me that by joining the program I would learn self-discipline, leadership, and it will build my self-esteem. In the program, there are different units that will teach me to interact in a chain of command, perform drill techniques, and Marine dress codes. As the cadets continued to amaze me with all of this information, I then realized what I wanted for my
National Honor Society is a great opportunity for me to give back to the community. I am Marcel Kas and I am currently a sophomore (2016-2017). I was the president of NJHS in middle school (2014-2015). Through my first two years of high school I have been able to take honors and AP courses allowing me to have a GPA of 4.143. I am also involved in many after school activities. I am currently a part of the tennis team, German National Honor Society, and the Greenfield High School marching band. I also volunteer my time to my community. I always volunteer for Polish cultural events like Polish Fest, I volunteer at church by being a lector and by helping out the priest every Friday and Sunday by being an altar boy, I am in a choir, I babysit,
The Junior Civitans Club is a community service organization that I have been a member of throughout my high school career. I participated in three Relay for Life walks for life, and helped to raise hundreds of dollars for the Relay for Life cancer research campaign. In my Sophomore and Junior years, I was elected to be on the Leadership committee as a Representative and later a Secretary. This year, I was elected President of the club and preside over all meetings and service projects. The Greenwood High School chapter of Junior Civitans “adopted” a girl’s cottage at the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home this school year. The Connie Maxwell Children’s home provides residential children’s ministry to abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
In my four years I have accomplish many things being in Horn Lake High School Marine Corps JROTC program. They have showed and taught me things that I can take further on in life with the camps and the leadership. I have seen first had on what it’s like to be a United States Marine in boot camp. I’ve also meet the CEO/founder of FedEx. JROTC has open me up to amazing opportunities that probably would have never happen if I wasn’t in the program.
He was walking onto the campus of his future college for the first time. “This is a place I can go. This is a place that I will enjoy.” He walked around with the name of the college echoing in his mind. “Case Western Reserve University. Case Western Reserve University.”
The National Honor Society is one of the most prestigious societies at Glen Allen. Since my freshman year, I have been constantly working towards reaching my goal of getting into this society. There have been days where I want give up, but I know the harder I worker, the better the payoff will be in the future. A member of the National Honor Society shows scholarship, leadership, character, and service, I believe that I exemplify each trait in one way or another.
For my senior project I ventured into two different possible careers I held an interest in. I adventured in the art career field and am determining if would be a viable future. This project also helped me determine whether I wanted a future career with domesticated companion animals or wildlife, both of which I love but needed to determine a career focus upon.

At the end of my Junior year I was inducted in the National Honor Society. Prior to my Junior year as I mentioned in my scholarship letter I without a doubt had no clue to what I wanted to do, after taking medical science, and nursing assistant I knew I wanted to either become an Occupational Therapist or a Pediatric Nurse. Before being a part of Honor Society I didn’t even know it existed, so it truly caught me by surprise. Since the beginning of my junior year I knew that I wanted to challenge myself in classes more than before, that was what I did. When I received the letter saying I was to be a part this high honor it felt like the work I had done all year was paying off. It pushed me to want to do more, so I did. I applied at the UW nurse
A true leader stands high on on the pillars of success: dedication, servitude, respectability, and honesty. The mark of a fulfilled life is not one who has collected many awards, not one who has an insurmountable amount of money and fame, it is one who has touched the most souls in his journey of life. A leader destined for greatness will touch many people along their journey to the top. In my short years on this Earth I have made it my mission from the start to leave a lasting impact on everyone I come in contact with and as a student of Howard University I will continue my mission without fault. From birth my parents noticed I had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, a heart of gold and an unconquerable ability to lead. In the 5th grade I was awarded the
I am Cadet 2LT Siomara Munoz. I have been in the JROTC program for four years. Four years ago when I first stepped foot onto this school, I had no idea how much JROTC would mean to me. My freshman year I met some of the coolest and most caring people that mentored me through the program. They taught me how to drill, march and all the basic commands one needed to know. I was very involved with football concessions and after school practices. JROTC taught me many life lessons that I will never forget. Through this I have become the best version of myself and a leader. There are many things that I would have
After class James talked to his friends, “Hey man that was hilarious what the teacher said in class” Says William the starting quarterback. “Ya man did you hear how sarcastic that was it was sad she burned you” Says Kale the starting wide receiver. “Ya I don’t know why she doesn’t like me” Says James. “She never has because you took her son’s position at running back” says William. “That is why but still it’s like I meant to anyways I didn’t even want to be running back, I’m happy I am now but I didn’t want to then” Says James. “Hey man we gotta get to class” says James Ya we do last, class of the day you always got to be in time for” says Kale.
If i was to make the world a better place for all I feel like i would need to be perfect, and as you probably know, i am not. However, if i was able to leave an impact to start the change for the world i believe my skills and talents would be beneficial. The skills and talents that i would say would be most beneficial is the fact that i am very open minded to other people's opinions yet, i can stand my ground on my own. I can also say without a doubt that i am a very humble person and take pride for what my parents did to get me where i am today. The last thing is that i stick to my word, and will keep a promise as long as if i can trust you. Now, let's get more into detail.
As I fly back home from Alaska, I think of all my all my adventures I’ve had so far. I feel amazing that I finally finish and will be returning to my dogs, my home, and most importantly, my sweet wife. I missed her so much over the past two weeks, I can't wait to see her again.

Hearts beating in the silence, runners anxious to complete their last meet of the year with a good note. The voices of fans yelling things we already know vanishes as the man in a yellow coat with a racing gun stands in front of us giving vivid instructions about the next eighteen minutes of pain.
