24 Hour Recall
The purpose of this essay is to analyze findings from a 24-hour recall interview that was initiated with a client. The 24-hour recall interview involves prompting the client to recall all food and beverages ingested in the last 24 hours. In addition to recording the foods the client has eaten, I will also reflect on how nutrient-dense his food choices were, discuss the findings from the SuperTracker, and give recommendations for nutritional improvement.
Data Collection
The client recorded food intake from one o’clock in the afternoon to one o’clock in the morning. As seen in Table 1., at approximately one o’clock in the afternoon, the client went out to a restaurant.

First, I would recommend decreasing the amount of sodium and saturated fat in his diet. The client should be conscious of what is in his food and educate himself on portion sizes.
The U.S Department of Health and Human Services (2005) explains how important it is to reduce the amount of added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium to prevent weight gain or health problems such as hypertension, heart failure, high cholesterol or diabetes (HHS, 2005, para. 3-12).
In addition, I would also recommend increasing whole foods in his diet. Eating healthy snacks such as apples or oatmeal could help reach his calorie limit as well as decrease hunger throughout the day. There are also many benefits to whole foods. Rui Liu (2003) explains that consumption of whole foods is strongly associated with reduced risk of chronic diseases (para.10).
Finally, I would recommend increasing his daily intake of water and avoiding sugary drinks such as juice, horchata, soda, etc. Getting enough water every day is very important to our body and its functions. The CDC (2016) states that water keeps our body temperature normal, lubricates and cushions our joints, protects sensitive tissues, and gets rid of waste in our body (para.
D1: For the recommendation, Aisha totally needs to cut down on the sugary, salty and fatty food that she eats. To be able to reduce the negative effect of her health, first of all she would need to cut down on the amount of sugar she has in her tea. I would recommend her to cut down from 3 to 1 and a half and maybe use semi skimmed milk. This will be able to reduce the sugar and fat intake she has. For her toasts, she could try and use margarine as it has less fat than butter or have plain toast to reduce the fat intake. If Aisha finds it hard to reduce/ cut down her sugar and fatty intake, I would recommend her to get help and advice from specialised people who work with service users who have diabetes. This might include visiting a clinic and asking questions about what food to eat and which ones to avoid in order for him to have a better health.
Such lifestyle changes include weight loss, if he is overweight or obese, reduce or eliminate alcohol and drug use as well as smoking, and changing his diet so that it is more ‘heart healthy’. When I first heard that this assignment would require for is to log the meals that you consumed during a two day period I thought that may I should push it to two weeks. The reasons why I choose two weeks is because it would force me to become more dedicated to the task at hand forcing me to track a week's worth of meals. I would then during the second week force myself to eat from all of the required food groups/ eat the recommend intake and keep track of the proper of all of for a week.
In viewing Mr. Laurane’s personal health issues as well as his family history, it appears clear that his overall well-being could benefit significantly from a weight-loss regimen that includes health education in terms of nutrition, exercise initiatives, supplements that may be taken to encourage the speeding up of a slow metabolism, etc. Mr. Laurane can only benefit from weight loss, which will reduce his hypertension, congestive heart failure, and high cholesterol, all of which pose serious threats to the patient’s long-term health if not addressed in any way possible.
My partners’ current dietary practices were either identified as under or ok. I based this on Mikey’s weight in Kg

During my three-day food intake I learned about myself. There are many benefits of good nutrition. ”Medical Online” states “besides helping you maintain a healthy weight, good nutrition is essential for the body and all its system to function optimally for a lifetime.” A healthy diet promotes good sleep, gives the body what it needs to stay healthy, and provides energy. According to “Mealtime Memo” Good nutrition means getting the calories that we need for energy and the nutrients we need for proper growth. I’m learning that variety, balance, and moderation are the key to healthy nutrition. As I am learning what I should and should not eat I will like you to invite you to take a look at my food intake. This essay will converse about my
More vegtables, fruits, low-fat dairy and whole grains, poultry and fish could do the trick. Reducing his saturated fat intake can help.
In this age of fast paced life and information overload, there is a growing need to slow down or even stop to contemplate and critically evaluate the mounting flood of activities and information that swarm our lives. Critical Reflection Analysis has not only become to me a safe haven and comforting refuge, but also a resort that showcases the function of reason and knowledge in understanding the complex nature of relationship that exist between the Healthcare System, the patient, and the Healthcare provider. For a safe and effective nursing practice, a proper knowledge and understanding of nursing code of ethics, the definitions, concepts and principles of all stakeholders need to be recognized.
The purpose of this assignment is to track and display the food choices we make and the way we eat affects our lifestyle and health. This paper addresses my personal food intake for the past three days. Next I will compare my food choices with my WileyPlus profile and determine whether I am maintaining healthy eating habits. There are foods that a person can eat in order to make sure that the daily required intake is being made. Sometimes it is really hard for a person like me to make sure I eat all the foods that I am supposed to so that I can consume all the nutrients that my body needs in a day. I know I will need to modify my eating
Since we have been learning about nutrition in class, our task was to record a food log. Nutrition requires a well-balanced diet containing nutrient and vitamins like amino acids and fatty acids. Over the past seven days I have been recording and have been looking very carefully at my intake of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fats. In our task, the objective was to record the basic foods we ate during the period of seven, but it did not require recording every single detail or our intake of food. Doing this food log was a pain and it was disturbing because I never wrote about what I ate like breakfast, lunch, dinner, or additional meals. I found this food log useful because it helped me learn what I
Salt acts as a biologically, necessary nutrient for human growth and development. If human beings did not give a damn about salt’s importance, our world would be filled with bland food, filthy water, and deadly disease. History’s first written records of salt appeared in China, around 4,700 years B.C.E. Salt played a major role in ancient history, especially in Roman and Egyptian cultures. Citizens of Rome and Egypt commonly used salt as trade goods, currency for soldiers, religious offerings, and even used in the process of mummification. Modern day chemists found several important ways to use salt. People use sodium today for softening water for drinking, flavoring foods, and for treatment of various medical conditions. Humans and
My husband and I had planned our Around Vancouver Island adventure for many months before releasing our 42' ketch from its confinement on the dock in the summer of 2013. Neither of us had sailed around our beautiful West Coast island before and it was with much excitement - and a hint of trepidation on my part - that we set out. I have always had a healthy respect for the ocean and my early days learning to sail were filled with accelerated heart beats and white knuckles. One never can tell when the ocean will want to swallow you whole and so my fear of the unknown was a niggling presence in my mind.
Abdullah Khaled is currently a hotel manager and most of his official duties are performed from the comfort of his office seat. He comes late from the office and most of his fun activities are indoor and not so active. He takes a lot of fatty foods like the fries most of his lunch meals, he always passes through a local pub before reaching home and take at least on beer, which is normally with high calorie content. This has turned Abdullah in a very huge person due to accumulation of fats without control, he has always been warned against his lifestyle that he will one time become obese which will affect his life so negative and may lead even to loss of employment if he is admitted to a hospital bed and the hotel management may not be willing to wait for him longer and experience losses in their business.
