Script for Healthcare 5 Slide 2 At present, healthcare sector in the US has largely affected by the external environment. It is important to assess how external and internal environment of a business affects on its operations. For this purpose, Mayo Clinic has been evaluated to research its external environment and its impact on the organization. Moreover, the present research has aimed to assess the challenges and opportunities that the organization is facing to meet the current market needs. Thee needs further deliver to the stakeholders to incorporate them in the development of the organization (Crane et al., 2020). Slide 3 Mayo Clinic was founded by Rochester family in 1864, in Minnesota, US. It is a non-profit organization that provided its comprehensive medical services within the clinics, then educate thousands of doctors and nurses every year, and also has research facilities through it laboratory. The organization worked in different states and cities of US including Rochester, Minnesota, Arizona, Florida, and even it is working as a subsidiary in partnership with Oxford University Clinic in London. It means the organization has international existence (Breitinger et al., 2020). Slide 4 Political factors: Political factors play an effective role in the development of the clinic. The political stability in the US has provided Mayo Clinic a better environment to grow. Moreover, it provides support to the clinic through trading relations with other countries and provide ease into the taxes. Economic factors Economic factors also create trouble or ease for the organization. Though Mayo Clinic has had better economic environment in the US. Pandemic has created trouble to manage the economic recession. The most issue has created for the medical insurances where patients are more, but the insurances are few. Slide 5 Social factors Several people in the US are taking benefits from the clinic through their healthcare and education services. Number of people become doctors and nurses every year. The clinic does not make discrimination by considering race, ethnicity, and status. Technological factors Mayo clinic is intended to bring change in the hospital through innovative technologies in the clinic and in research center. Innovation has considered as the success of the organization. Few of the important technological healthcare services that Mayo Clinic has provided to the patients such as Cardiac Rehabilitation, Oncology, Colon and Rectal Surgery, and many other services. Slide 6 Legal factors
In the US, healthcare laws and regulations are quite strict that impose organizations to improve safety of people. By using latest technologies, Mayo Clinic is successful to track the patient’s data to improve healthcare system. Moreover, it keeps its patients and employee’s information confidential. Anti-discriminative law has employed in the clinic. Environmental factors Being a healthcare organization, it takes efficient part in the waste management. Several seminars have been held to give education and awareness about health concerns to society. Green consumption is an important aim of the organization to spread and also provide CSR activities accordingly. Slide 7 Mayo Clinic has adopted several new technologies along with telemedicine. The adoption of telemedicine has become a need and increased during pandemic. When people were bound to follow lock down situation throughout US, at that time, people took benefits from telemedicine to book appointments, share documents, and receive e-prescription from doctors. With several benefits of this new technology, Mayo Clinic has faced few challenges also. The biggest challenge is increasing the cost. Though 95% of patients are satisfied with this technology still it is facing problems in using it. Slide 8 Clinical guideline: The most effective evidence-based strategy to improve the application of telemedicine has founded as clinical guideline. When clinical guidelines have developed within the clinic that help physicians in diagnosing, managing, and treating illness. It is a systematic statement that help both patients and doctors to make necessary decisions and improve outcomes. Pattern recognition paradigm This strategy support clinics on daily basis. A proper framework has developed to mechanize and supervise accurate protocols at the clinic. Moreover, it helps in developing new designs ti enhance treatment. Daily care protocol strategy This strategy has worked to involve patients and doctors both for the caring process. Patients keep in touch to analyze diagnosing of diseases and develop proper treatment (Paruthi, 2020) Slide 9 The strategies can further improve to get better implantation of telemedicine. The patients must be given the opportunity to end all the materials, reports, etc., before the appointment. It helps in reducing the time of both patient and doctor and provide another advantage to doctors to handle large number of patients easily. The second important recommendation is to use the online tools. Mayo clinic needs to improve its website and its content for patients. Section 508 may help in this regard that force federal agencies to create their websites according to the latest needs of market. Lastly, it must ensure that patients have right resources to use telemedicine. When number of patients have gadgets or devices to connect to the physicians or doctors, it will reduce regular visits (Blanchet, 2008)
Slide 10 From the present research of Mayo Clinic and its concern to adopt technologies has concluded that clinic is prone to adopt new technologies such as telemedicine. The US healthcare system has taken advantage of this technology. However, Mayo clinic needs to improve its implementation. Three evidence-bases strategies have recommended and their better use have also suggested to give better approach to Mayo Clinic to take more advantage of this technology.
