1. State your research topic and purpose. The topic I have chosen is about solar panels. The purpose of this study is to provide information to people that are considering installing solar panels on their homes and maybe their businesses. The main goal is to answer some of the basic questions that many people are asking and provide thorough and unbiased answers to some of those questions, even if the answer is negative. The whole purpose of this is to help people make decisions about solar panels and if they are for them or not. 2. State your research question(s). What are the benefits of solar panels to both the users and to the environment? Do solar panels save you money on electricity? 3. List and label the variables as independent, dependent, intervening, or moderating. Independent Variable – Solar panel lenses that are being used and the positioning of the lenses. Dependent Variable – The amount of voltage, current and the solar power output. 4. State your hypothesis. Photovoltaic panels need to be positioned and angled a certain angle to produce more solar power output. 5. Describe the limitations present in your study. Be thorough. Study limitations represent weaknesses within a research design that may influence outcomes and conclusions of the research. Researchers have an obligation to the academic community to present complete and honest limitations of a presented study (Ross, P. T., & Bibler Zaidid, N. L.,
2019). Some of the current limitations that I am facing with my research are mostly finding the open-ended questions from a recent study and age of data limitation of studies. All the articles that I am currently using are from the year 2005 and 2010. Although solar panels became readily available to citizens in three countries early on, solar panels did not become popular right away. Solar panels only started becoming popular in 2005 and that is when majority of the studies were conducted to let people know the benefits of using such technology. The catch is that when these studies were conducted, the product was still young and just starting out and that could affect some of the questions that I need to address for my paper. This is because comparing the old solar panels between the years of 2005 and 2010 are completely different today due to the advancement of technology, different color and types of bi-convex lenses, all of which can affect the performance of the product.
