Data scientist work on different ways based on the situation in hand. Therefore, they require flexibility and the freedom to make decision on their own. Also putting them under scrutiny and pressure will only make their work more routine where they require lot of freedom.

It is best that Data scientists work with more decision making power and freedom and therefore should work better under a decentralized structure. It allows them to be more creative and less under pressure. While decentralized structure would be more efficient would hamper their ability do good work.

Data scientists should work under decentralized structures as that type of a structure offers more freedom and control.
