All the planets, moons and other smaller objects in the solar system revolve about the sun in elliptical orbits with sun at one of the foci of the elliptical path. Moon is the natural satellite of the Earth. It appears bright in the night sky and has different phases.

Sunlight is not affected by any celestial body, whereas moonlight is another form of sunlight that is affected by a celestial body.
An example: Take a flashlight and a mirror; shine the flashlight into the mirror at any angle and also to the wall. The light from the flashlight that hits the wall is like moonlight, whereas the light that emerges from the flashlight directly striking the surface of the wall is like sunlight.
