To Explain:The term-organic compounds.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The hydrocarbons and their derivatives are referred as organic compounds.
Hydrocarbons are the organic compounds. Theseessentially contain carbon and hydrogen. There is covalent bond between the carbon atoms present in the derivatives of hydrocarbons.
These compounds got their name ‘organic compounds’ because they were initially obtained from living things,in the plants and animals’ parts. The organic compounds couldn’t be synthesized in the laboratory as per beliefs until the nineteenth century. In the laboratory,a systematic study for the preparation of organic compoundshad started by the middle of the nineteenth century.
