Transmutation is a result of nuclear decay. It is a process of converting an element into different element. Transmutation occur alpha and beta decay. One the other hand radioactivity is the process of nuclei decaying and emitting energy.
Compare:
Both radioactivity and transmutation are one type of process of releasing of energy in the form of alpha and beta particle.
conclusion:
When strong force is weak and difficult to hold nucleus tightly. The nucleus can decay and emits energy which is the process of radioactivity. Transmutation occurs after alpha and beta decay.
