Chapter 18.3, Problem 1QC
Summary Introduction
To review:
The effects of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems on blood pressure.
Introduction:
Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are part of the autonomous nervous system (ANS). The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems have opposite effects on blood pressure. They control blood pressure by releasing their respective neurotransmitters thataffect cardiac cells and smooth muscle cells of blood vessels.
