To determine:
Definition of the term selective breeding, inbreeding, and test cross.
Explanation of Solution
Selective breeding: It is defined as a planned mating technique, in which both the individuals or any of the individuals are selected. Selective breeding can be artificial or natural. The natural selective breeding is the case when the individuals of a species choose their mate and artificial selection occurs when humans breed selected individuals of a species.
Inbreeding: It is defined as the mating of the individuals who are close relatives or closely related by ancestry. This causes an increase in similar types of genes and homozygosity.
Test cross: The test cross can be defined as the cross, which is used to determine the genotype of the plants, especially, whether it is heterozygous dominant or homozygous dominant.
