Benefits of multi -disciplinary working Multi disciplinary working will benefit Michael because of all the professional working together they will know what is needs are because they are communicating with one another and this will give him higher quality of care. They can identify what services he needs and also which can give him support that he doesn’t have. Michael will feel empowered and in control of his own care provision. He will have the chance to receive a wider choice available for example Michael did not want to leave is home so he can chose to not go to a care home but instead get a carer to support him and get meals on wheels services. Issues concerning working relationships between professionals could be damaging to the multi agency working process. Professionals should be committed and develop mutual respect and trusting relationship with participants involved. Also the lack of clarity over roles and responsibilities could lead to a lack of leadership. Without leadership and someone to oversee and reason problems such as who to report to and a lack of support may arise. Also the confusion over responsibilities may cause people to make assumptions like “someone else will do it” leading to delays in the process.

In this report I will be describing different patterns of ill health and who and how they are monitored. A health service is a service that provides care and is under the NHS. For examples hospitals or a G.P. They provide treatments but also prevent illnesses through health promotions. An interdisciplinary collaboration is “an effective interpersonal process that facilitates the achievement of goals that cannot be reached when individidual professionals act on their own” (Bronstein, 2003). This particular team is made up of five human service professionals at this time and others may be temporary added or join as needed for the case. Bronstein states that clients often need professionals with diverse educational backgrounds and specific expertise for the promotion of client welfare.
Partnership is when two or more organisations work together, showing cooperation and collaboration. This can provide better care and support for service users. For example, different funds working together, instead of working individually and stressing. Another example, a social worker and the health visitor will need to work together, share ideas and use different skills to develop a support plan that will benefit children and families. This also promotes multi-disciplinary working. Partnership thus can reduce conflicts and enhance team working skills as professionals can work together, sharing responsibilities and ensuring need led approaches are met and set. This can be done by reviewing care plans and offering support.
