During junior year of Jennifer, the only friend she has been with was Mandy, her classmate in Tech campus. Nursing is more than traveling room to room, patient to patient, to provide medical care. Nursing is about treating the patient with the utmost respect and compassion. It’s more than providing medical care, but supporting the patient and family. Being a nurse only requires a bachelor degree and a “RN” badge, however, a great nurse possesses that knowledge, along with determination, a positive attitude, compassion, and patience. I believe that I display these characteristics and have a true passion for helping others. Throughout high school, I always had an interest in the medical field and biology. In my junior year, I decided to enroll in the CNA course to pursue my passion for nursing early on. Through this class, I experienced moments of self discovery
My goal since day one of high school was to join and complete the Certified Nursing Assistant license’s program. I kept my grades up all years and my attendance sharp so I would be a step ahead of other applicants. Before I knew it, I was starting senior year which meant it was time to turn in my application. The application had many questions; the normal ones like who, what, and why. I turned the application into the teacher and the wait began to see if I was accepted. Little did I know that this was the first of many anxious waits this year. Completing my goal of becoming a licensed CNA would become one of the most nerve racking process in my life.
In today’s healthcare system, nursing is a challenging field as a result of rapid technological advances and changes in healthcare policies. As a dedicated nursing professional, with a great passion for learning, I strive to stay on top of these changes. I am determined to increase my knowledge to be an instrumental part of providing quality healthcare. The demands of nursing are high; however the rewards are even higher. Nursing requires both a supreme understanding of the science of health, and a caring bedside manner befitting only those who seek a position of such a personal involvement in the well-being of a patient. Academically, I will put forth all of
“Good morning Mary. Are you ready to get up?” I seem to say these words a lot. I work as a CNA at the St.Elizabeth’s Health Care Center. In order to become a CNA you have to take a course and pass a test. I am going to tell you about the teacher that made this class a very good experience. Her name is Melissa Rebehl. I’m going to tell you a little about what we had to do and why she was such a good teacher.
Karen Parra Aug. 9, 2015 Application Essay When I became a CNA I learned how powerful this profession can be, the way nurses influence and touch lives, I wanted to be a nurse because I love helping out others in their time of need. Throughout my experience I have seen how rewarding this profession can be when you care for a patient that appreciates everything you’ve done. Just how the counselors and teachers will take the time to check up on how you doing with your classes and if there is anything I would need help with. Also the faith that this college has with students and always trying to find ways to work around your schedule is great. I have worked as a CNA for almost 4 years and it has allowed me to gain experiences in the nursing field that would
Kim Millam was my direct supervisor for my first five years at Lakeland. It is not a secret that Kim has dedicated well over 30 years of service to Lakeland Community College. I have only known her for a brief six years, but I have come to realize how much she is dedicated to the mission of Lakeland’s students, faculty and staff.
I was very proud to be one of the fourteen people excepted into such a sought after program. After my six weeks of training I completed the program with a 98% average, and found a job one week later as a CNA at Meadowbrook Healthcare. Immediately after completing the program at CV-Tec, I started my first semester at Clinton Community College to continue my journey towards becoming a registered nurse. I began my college career slowly in order to adjust to my new role as a college student while maintaining full time employment as a CNA. Working in the nursing home had secured my decision to further my career in healthcare, and inspired me greatly.

My encounter with nurses and certified nursing assistance at a long-term care facility was one that I learned a lot from. The experience and training were great. I got to be in a setting of well-trained healthcare workers, all trying to help the sick or be there for those who couldn’t help themselves, in a sense. At this particular facility, the staff was discerning
Christina graduated from High School in 2007, where she then attended Middle Tennessee State University to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. However, over time having a passion for working with the elderly became a new career interest. Presently, Christina is a graduating senior at Tennessee State University, majoring in Health Care Administration and Planning. Upon graduating in December 2016, she plans to apply the Administrator-In-Training (AIT) program at National Healthcare Corporation (NHC) so that she can eventually become a Director of an Assisted Living Facility.
To help Certified Nurses Assistants better in the workplace I have come up with several solutions. As a new employee these solutions should help a new employee do their job better. As a Certified Nurse’s Assistant myself I find that knowing there are new ways to do things better helpful.

The brown brick building in the back of the school, next to the Orbach Science library, is at first shockingly small in size, the UCR School of Medicine. The golden lettering is easily read from a far distance. The surrounding area is very peaceful and calming where I am able to hear the birds chirp as I walk along the shady pathway. There was not a student in sight. As I entered the brown brick building, it smelled delightfully clean and sanitized. All I could hear was beeping from a machine that I could not identify. As I continued walking, a cool breeze was felt as I passed a classroom that was in session. The interior of the classroom seemed very spacious. The more I continued to explore the building, I discovered the dean’s office, and
A student, in the practical nursing program, giving the best care by using and applying skills, principles, and guidelines is the main concern. Seventy-five percent of patients in hospital are elderly simply because of their fragility and decrease in their immune system which would cause mature adult to develop a health problem. Every week is about meeting new patients with different type of diagnosis so skills can develop and one of the patients has caught a particular attention.
This course really developed my self as a nurse, and it will help me in giving care to actual clients in the real world as well. First of all, this course taught us all about Florence Nightingale, who is viewed as one of the first nursing theorists. Her becoming a nurse, her practices as a nurse, her theory, her tenets, and most importantly, her being one of the most influential figures, even as of this very day. In this course, through essay writing we understood more about how Florence Nightingale’s theory and practices are still relevant today. We were able to connect her tenets to the real world programs. This can really help us in giving care because we learnt about how her practices are applied and so we are also able to apply her practices while providing clients care. Not only that, but we learned about how committed Nightingale was to provide the utmost care for the client and how the client is very important, with knowing this, we can also provide the greatest care that the client deserves. She strived for professional nursing and had laid the foundation, and we need to follow in these footsteps as well. Her achievements can aid in motivating us to become better and improve ourselves as a nurse everyday, as she did emphasize the importance of restoring one’s health.
