Construction Career Paper

There was a day that i was thinking of what i was going to do with the rest of my life outside of highschool and i came up blank. I tried to think of my skills and i could only think of two skills that would help me in life, and those skills are art and my great math mind. The professions that i could think of that need a good foundation of math and art is architecture. They need math so that they can tell how much weight the structure can take the angles that will help support the buildings and to get the exact size of the building. The art needed to become a architect is for the architect may make a layout of the building, to design a efficient building, and to design a building that will be pleasing to the design weather it be the coloring of the inside or the outside or the shape of the windows or the building in general.

The theoretical career development framework that I chose to assist in Catherine’s career counseling process is Donald Super’s counseling theory. I decided to chose this particular career development framework because I thought it would be the most effective and appropriate to use with the client. The client is thirty-seven years of age and is dealing with a lot on her plate. Equally important, people grow and change throughout their lives and this theory respects that.

The first thing you will want to look for in a general contractor is a set of good references.

A basic definition for the procurement is “the way the building is realised” and “involves assembling and organising the skills and services of a team of construction professionals”. (the Construction Round Table, 1995). More precisely, the construction industry describes procurement as “a system that establishes the roles and relationships which make up a project organisation”; hence the overall organisation and communication structure for the management, administration and control of a project is established by the procurement system. (D.C.H Coles, 2010)

Many people will tell you that the person who inspired them the most was a teacher. They inspire us and prepare students for a higher level of education. They teach planned lessons and the needed skills students will need in the future when they attend college and when they seek employment. High school teachers will see various different classes throughout the day and may teach different grade levels and different types of classes that pertain to their level of specialty (Echaore-McDavid). Though no matter what or who they are teaching, their goal is the same, success for the students. Teachers assess the students in their classes to determine their strengths and weaknesses of the given material (Bureau). The parents of the students and the teachers also have a level of communication outside of the classroom (Bureau). Teachers communicate with the parents to assess the level of success the student has and to work with the parents to help the student . There are two types of ways that a teacher may choose to instruct the class. These are didactic teacher or evocative teaching. Didactic teaching is teaching through demonstrations or lectures (Ed). Evocative teaching is instructing the students through aid and focusing on the students discussions to teach a new topic (Ed). Everything a

Construction Management is the overall planning, outlook, coordination, budget and control of a construction project from start to finish. Without them, construction projects would be very unorganized and chaotic. They make sure projects run smoothly and efficiently. They work with electricians, plumbers, carpenters and general contractors to produce the safest and best way to complete the project for the customer. Being a construction manager is a good job because they help many people build what they need.

Over the course of her career, she has instructed individuals through the Regional Alliance for Small Contractors and the South Jersey Building Contractors Association. She has also delivered a presentation before the Joint Toll Bridge Commission and participated in a range of industry trade

The career that I chose to this research on paper is a Construction Project Manager (CPM). I chose this career for many different reasons, mainly because I have always liked construction and my brother went to school and his doing this profession. I also chose this because this job requires a lot of what I would like to do in my future career. In this paper I am going to talk about the duties/responsibilities, educational requirements, job demand, salary, skills/personality, stresses/satisfactions, and the demand/future of a construction project manager.

Picking the right contractor could mean the difference between an easy and enjoyable experience and an endless sea of pain and suffering. Regardless of the size of the project, most people would narrow down the requirements of a good contractor to three general categories: cost, quality, ability to meet agreed upon time-frames. For businesses, the only additional requirement is communication. As it pains me to say, John Doe Construction failed to meet the basic expectations above, it also managed to cost us significant amount of money due to delays. The names of the guilty have been changed to protect the innocent.

Carpenters have been on the earth since the dawn of time – quite literally. Carpentry is a skilled trade in which the primary work performed is the cutting, shaping and installation of building materials during the construction of buildings, ships, and bridges.

Everyone has dreams and goals. Those desires that, no matter what, you will never give up until you reach them. For me, graduating from an outstanding university with an undergraduate degree in the architecture program is the most prominent on my current list. I am nearing the end of this journey. I will be completing the undergraduate portion of my desire. With that said, I now set my sites higher on a loftier goal and a more exceptional dream. The new target, is acceptance to an equally extraordinary graduate school so I may further my education taking the necessary steps to reach my apex. My greatest aspiration, is to become a licensed architect working towards eventually owning my own firm. I established, very early in my life, the intention of becoming a licensed architect eventually owning my own firm.

My dad has the most difficult job, he is a construction worker. His job is really confusing and very frustrating most of the time. to be a construction worker you need to know a lot of math and you need to be physical active or strong, you need muscle.

Making a work or a construction project is not an easy thing and it demands many stages to facilitate the work.One of the most important stages that facilitates the work and gives the contractor and owner warranty is the “construction contracts”

Introduction Construction Management is not a new idea. The function of the Construction Manager is to work on behalf of the owner to complete a project within the plans and specifications provided. In the last few years construction practices have changed dramatically. Technology, materials, government bureaucracy, financing, design, and engineering have all advanced. With the complexity of the construction process increasing, owners demand accountability and accurate guidance during the entire planning and construction process. The importance of project management to construction derives from the nature of how the industry’s business activities are conducted. Project managers in construction are responsible for the overall success of
