In reality Chris met Taya in a bar while he was in Navy training (Duckworth). In the movie Chris Kyle and his girlfriend Taya were married and Chris was deployed in the same day (Eastwood). In real life, Chris Kyle and Taya get married because Chris was going to be deployed soon (Chris Kyle American Sniper). Chris Kyle and William James are both dedicated warriors that had spent hundreds of hours training for a war in a foreign country overseas. Both individuals enjoyed their work during training and craved to fight for their country, however they became addicted to the dangerous and exhilarating thrills of battle. Kyle had written about his journey from high school to becoming a Navy Seal in American Sniper using oxymorons, symbolism and emotional language from the perspective of himself, as well as his wife. Kathryn Bigelow presented the story of James’ experience in Iraq by implementing stylistic features such as music, cinematography and atmosphere. These texts revealed the life of the protagonist in their perspectives showing their frequent close encounters with death, but continue to return on multiple deployments despite the fear, but for the ecstasy of combat. Kyle and James do not care for politics; James represents the ordinary soldier on the ground conducting an extraordinary job whereas Kyle represents the stereotypical hero conducting a secret job. But, both individuals suffer from the same dangerous addiction where they savour fighting in combat. Chris Kyle dedicated his life to staying fit and continuing his military education so he could fight overseas. “I wanted to fight. I wanted to do what I’d been trained for. American taxpayers had invested considerable dollars in my education as a SEAL. I wanted to defend my country, do my duty, and do my job. I wanted more
Chris Kyle, who a lot of us have come to know as the "American Sniper" is a "good" person, but while serving in United States military for the navy seal as a sniper he accepted his situation that required him to perform evil acts. Kyle is what we call an all-American boy. He was raised in the church on a Texas ranch. He enjoyed the outdoors. Eventually, Kyle joined the United States Military. When he left the military, highly decorated. He started his own security business. In addition, started working with veterans and helping his fellow soldiers that were struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). If we were going to label Kyle and put him under a category, Kyle is a "good" person. Kyle was raised in a proper home, served his country, contributed to society and served his community. However, during his tour in Afghanistan, he would transform into another person once he accepted his situation he was no longer Kyle but “Devil of Ramadi" (Thomas), who has a total of 160 confirmed kills. Kyle states, "His mission in Iraq was simple: provide what the military calls overwatch protection so the Marines under his gaze could do their jobs without fear of insurgent ambushes." (Thomas) Kyle, highly invested

The book American Sniper is written by Chris Kyle and it follows his life and the four tours he served in Iraq while serving in U.S. Navy as a SEAL. He was born in Odessa, Texas on April 8, 1984 and was truly the definition of a patriot. Chris, after surviving the four tours was sadly fatally shot in the states on February 2, 2013 by an ex-marine while trying to help the marine cope with his PTSD. Chris was the definition of a patriot and was willing to do anything to protect the country he loved so much. While reading his book I was able to understand what it is like being an individual who is just a soldier fighting for something that is much larger than oneself. The only reason to read this book in my opinion is to get an understanding of the self sacrifice that every military personnel goes through while protecting our country.

While these articles show a great breadth or power they have not fully detailed or described the focus of the film, helping those who suffer from posttraumatic stress disorder, and other mental health disorders, and returning them to closest previous version of their selves. Further study and research should continue in the field of posttraumatic stress disorder because if it halts, where it currently stands, we will continue to lose our most valuable resource of society; the individuals that make-up our communities. In order to treat any injury, we should understand what causes the injury, symptoms, and how to treat the injury properly.
The film “American Sniper”, directed by Clint Eastwood, broke box-office records with a staggering $107 million in opening weekend; despite the controversy surrounding the film, it is films like “American Sniper” that help lessen the bitter taste in America’s mouth. “American Sniper” is a film adaption of Chris Kyle’s autobiography detailing his life and four tours overseas as a Navy SEAL. After opening weekend of this much anticipated film, there were several first hand accounts of movie goers leaving the theater who described their experiences leaving the theater as silent and eerie as opposed to the usual raucous that ensues after a movie has concluded. “There is a battle between good and evil in this world, and we send our very best to fight it, and sometimes evil wins. And those of us who stay home have no idea what it’s like to fight that war. When we get a tiny glimpse of it on a screen, it humbles us. That’s why we’re silent.” (Hemphill) I believe that the American population should be giving their full support and appreciation of those selflessly risking their lives despite whatever our opinions are of war. As those who are selflessly risking their lives to make our homeland a safer place are true heroes. “I didn’t risk my life to bring democracy to Iraq. I
