Hello. Just some warnings before you read this. Please don’t expect any fancy words, and mind blowing quotes, or anything special from me, other than myself. In this speech I am not trying to show you that I am superior to all my peers and you should pick me because I know how everything should be. Because that’s not true. In fact, I’m not even sure if I’ll win this election. BUt man, I’ll be bummed out if I don’t. I’ve wanted this since the summer. Not because I get to plan and oversee all the activities that happen - but I do like that part. Not because I bunch of people might vote for me - but I sure do love good ol’ validation. But The reason I want this so badly is for you guys. Since the summer, I’ve been making a list of complaints that my friends have had, that people who aren’t my friends have had, and that I’ve had about our school. …show more content…
I’ve written down what exactly the problem is, and how to possibly fix it, just to get a conversation started. Regardless of whether you vote for me or not, although, if I do get elected it will be 100 times easier to actually hear what you guys hate and get a hold of the admin. But regardless, I will somehow find some way to directly talk to our school administration about this, because I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to go to a school that people call a prison. And it shouldn’t be that way, and it wasn’t always like that. But to do that, I need your help. Because I said earlier, I am not some higher being. Sometimes I wish I was though. I am just like you listening to me (or reading this). I hate gym, and I absolutely hate walking in the hallways. All I want is to help lead our school in the right direction, because every year we seem to be taking a step
I am running for sophomore class treasurer because I believe that we should have people in office that actually want to improve the school. I want to have a school where everyone feels like they belong, and have choices about what happens in their lives at school. What I have noticed while I have been in high school is that kids walk the halls everyday hating it not because of the work, but because they feel like their lives are being ran for them and that they have no control over them. They want to give their opinions and they should have that right. Does that mean that every idea is going to be great. No, but kids will feel they got the chance to speak their minds. This is an important time in our lives. We are growing up and on some things we should have a say. I want to make sure they do have that opportunity.
I’m currently sitting in my room thinking about how great these two weeks with you were. Thank you so much for all the memories and fun times. I will always hold them very close to me. My god, it has only been a couple hours since you left and I already miss you so much. You have made me immensely happy, I cannot express that enough. I only hope to make you as happy as you make me. I know we are both still young, but no matter what happens or where life takes us, I know for a fact that I will always love you. You have taught me so much and I will forever be grateful for that.
I would first like to sincerely apologize for my extremely follow up with you. After the PACE event I started a new job with Kaplan's Test Prep center here in Orlando which consisted of a 3 week training process with a schedule of 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday. I just become so busy with that, a full course of school (2 nights class Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6:00pm-8:50pm), and as you know, LSAT studying. I am not going to lie, these couple weeks have difficult to say the less. There was a lot of sleepless nights.
Good morning class of 2019. I am Tori Cichelero, and I am running for Freshman Class President. As a president, my job would be to stabilize each and every single one of us, because we are new to the community of Ursuline Academy. I will make sure we are all involved, so we all get to be connected into the school. In order to be involved, we all have to take risk and try new things. Trying new things can be scary, but it can be so much better when you have a leader to guide you. My guidance can make us freshman the best possible class by using our intelligence, hard-work, responsibility, and kindness. When I think of Ursuline Academy, I think of how great our class is. Each classmate in front of me right now means so much to me. Your grades,
First off, thank you for considering me for this opportunity. I, in all honesty, didn't know what Boy State was, but after doing some research I discovered that Boy’s State is a prestigious program that allows students to operate in a government environment that exploits students’ own interest with positions based on real life government. When I heard about this, I got really enthusiastic and intrigued. And I felt like I could undoubtedly take something beneficial with me from this program. At this school, the title of Junior class president comes with great responsibilities. This leader is responsible for expressing the class’ input, not only that, specifically this year, the leader is
During my junior year of high school, I decided to run for senior class president for the 2016-2017 school year. After the election process (interviews, speeches, and voting), I was elected for this position. I have been apart of student council since I was in seventh grade and I have always been extremely passionate about it. Student Council to me means serving others in your school and community and I can say that I thoroughly enjoy doing that. I wanted to be senior class president because I knew I had the drive, ambition, and work ethic it would take to get things done. As president, I have to make major decisions that have to do with graduation and the senior class as a whole. I wanted to lead and represent the class of 2017 at Durant High
You might be asking who's this guy and what does he want? My names Faizan Ahmed I'm in the 9th grade, and I'm running for president of the class of 2020. CSD is a wonderful school with great staff but when students first think about school they think about jail. School has become a miserable place where some students don't want to be. That’s not how school is supposed to be, it's an opportunity for young people like us to gain lifelong lessons and lasting memories we won't forget for the rest of our lives. I want the students in my grade to become more enthusiastic and enjoy the fun of being in high school. If you want more school related events and activities I need your help so please vote me for president of the class of
Legacy: I would like to thank all of my family, friends, teachers, and coaches who have supported me throughout high school. I would like to Kip and Julie Johnson, my parents. Thank you for everything that you have done for me. No matter how hard I was on you guys, you never gave up on me. You always knew that I could do better and constantly encouraged me to do so. I would also like to say a special thanks to my girlfriend Bekka. You have always been there for me since the 9th grade when we started dating. You always helped me with any of my work that I had sturggled with. I appreciate you always telling me that I could do better, even though I was lazy. Thank you for always supporting me, love. I would next like to thank all my friends: Tyler, Hugo, Ed, Casey, Tristan, James,
Hi, I’m Savannah Kay. I originally was going to get up here and say a typical campaign speech on how I would make a great president and why you should vote for me, except, that’s not what I wanted to say and I’m sure that is not what you want to sit through. So instead I’ll tell you why I want to be your class president.
His eyes were glued to the remote dimple on the side of her cheek. It was his way of containing the boyish grin that illuminated his face when she spoke. He stared adoringly, until Jinora's hand found the top of his. Kai stepped forward and he took a fortifying breath.
It all started as a simple question. “If I’m not going to do it, who will?” I asked myself as our homeroom teacher waited for someone to step up and run for class president. So, I stood up and took the lead for the first time. It was nerve-racking to say the least. Back then, I was timid, the youngest in my grade, and hardly ever spoke up. Even so, I won the election by a vote or two, and went on to complete my singular duty as seventh grade class president: going to meetings with the high school student government. I wanted to be just like every single one of the high school leaders. They were confident, inclusive, and made progressive changes around the school. Several of them helped me feel more comfortable in their discussions by asking for my opinion on topics, involving me in decisions, and taking me under their wing. Today, as one of those “cool high school student government people,” I try to offer the same encouragement to the younger students as I was
“Good. I’m sending you an email. Look it over and email me any questions. Congratulations again, William. I’m proud of you.”
Coming into Cactus High School, I was eager to be able to participate in the clubs offered and so far I’m greatly satisfied. Currently I’m in art club and and photo club as a regular member. To say nothing of, student council has been at the top of my list in regards of what had me delighted to start high school since day one. Our current student council is doing fantastic with being active, but I believe we could go even further with our efforts of contribution to give a voice to our fellow students. There is always room for improvement, and I’m sure I could help make it happen. This year, and for those to come if I’m elected, I would like to see the student council body round out and polish it’s relationships as a whole. We could do more fundraisers within the school and plan/participate in events outside of school, like walks for the disabled/needy or organize friendly competitions like school wide scavenger hunts between classes/clubs. I’d love to see student council connect with the other clubs more and plan to do events coinciding with each other. There could be art sales with art club, or stucco could participate and support clubs like robotics at their competitions like we do with our sports teams. So many possibilities and paths have opened up to me since I’ve decided I want to run for vice president in the student council body. I believe we could make these possibilities a reality with hard work and
It’s my turn to close tonight. It’s a Monday night, so no one is here but one man. I usually don’t close, but I’ve been trying to get all the overtime I can get. I begged my boss for weeks to give me some more hours and he finally gave in. I mean I can understand why he had a hard time deciding because I’m not the most experienced bartender here. I would spend time trying to learn more drinks to make, but I have so much homework to do it takes up most of my time. I thought high school was hard, but college is even harder. In high school, I worked at Friendly’s but still managed to have some extra time. I guess now that I have to support myself financially and attend school, it been a little hard on me. Luckily, I have a scholarship and this
I should become student body president because I’m nice to kids who follow the rules and mean to those that don’t follow the rules and not so nice to kids that are disobedient. If elected we will have free dounut Wednesday and chicken sandwiches for $1.50 on Fridays. I will also make teacher apreation week every other two weeks. If elected there will be very strict rules. Also every teacher will get the newest phone and shoes. Also, students will get to have their phone on Wednesday and Thursday. The school will have strict consequences for fighting. For example, 10 day suspension and extra homework for the days they’re out and if not completed expulsion. For these reasons I should be student body president. Kids will be separated by behavior.
