8:45 a.m. on a Tuesday; it is time to go to my English class. Excited and curious on what my classmates and I will read. Spending hours reading passages, short stories, fiction and learning how to analyze them developed my passion for reading. I’ve lived many lives and I’ve traveled to many parts of the world because I spend my free time reading novels. The way I see it, there’s a world in every book. Books aren’t just made up of sentences and paragraphs. Books are filled with lessons and meaning.
My appreciation for literature has grown ever since I learned how to read and I received my very own library card. When I hold the library card in my hand for the first time, I felt excitement and joy. Reading has always been a part of me and it
In the past two months i fell like i have accomplished a great deal. As i focus on it more i realize i have become a better reader. I did this by concentrating on my readings and take my time to read them. With the help of my professor and classmates i began to analyze what i read.
Throughout my degree I have taken subjects that provide various strategies for developing engaging learning for diverse classes. While my year 9 English class was organised based on grading and performance of students all other classes were of mixed ability, interest and learning styles. Within my observation week I took note of the teaching styles that were primarily used; year 11 Standard were primarily learning through presentations and note taking, while year 9 English worked well through discussion and sharing of information. Other things I noted was that year 7 needed primarily short activities that link but are different to engage the range of students and ensure they were taking in the appropriate information. My year 11 Drama class
In the beginning of the semester, everyone was write down two goals that would be accomplished in the semester. Experience in writing papers showed me that I was weak in writing any type of papers. However, I was determined to stop repeating idea by rewording as well as writing information that is unnecessary. Also, I knew I had to improve on writing essays with no to very few mistakes, whether it is structurally or punctually. I am pleased with discontinuing any repetitions while writing, but am not so pleased about structuring and punctuating my sentences.
1. The researchers found a significant difference between the two groups (control and treatment) for change in mobility of the women with osteoarthritis (OA) over 12 weeks with the results of F(1, 22) = 9.619, p = 0.005. Discuss each aspect of these results.
Writing 205 has taught me more then just writing stratagies, it has taught me who I am as a writer. Throughout the course of the semester I have learned new strategies, techniques, and tools that have helped me develop as a writer, as well as establishing my voice. Through vigorous course work I can say that I am more educated on writing skills in addition to annotating sources and genres. Reflecting back on this past semester I see how each unit has branched from each other as a guide for what was to come next. This made going from unit to unit flow in a natural way to achieve the best final product.
The nutritional dietary consumption of carbohydrates is between 55-75% for the vast majority of the global population as their main source of food intake and energy. And the general populous continues to be misinformed by government agencies regarding what a normal, healthy diet, should be, as well as what a balanced diet looks like. Eating a low-carb high-fat, or ketogenic, diet of high fat, adequate protein and low carbohydrates can provide many health benefits as compared to the alternative of an unhealthy diet. Research suggests that a ketogenic diet builds a healthier body than
In English 1102 students will learn many different techniques throughout the course to understand and compose an analysis on an array of topics. After the course is over it is up to the students to apply what they have learned to everyday life. Many students throughout this course have questioned why they have to learn this material and that it will not even help them in the real world, but they are wrong. Each and everyday people should look at the deeper meaning and analyze situations very carefully or else one may find themselves being deceived. Being able to analyze is a very important skill no matter what career choice you choose. In this course the material assigned also had many life lessons in them. A great example of a reading assignment
May you send me the mistakes that I had in the Mid term Exam to modify them.
Before taking on the challenge of critical reading, writing, and researching, I would like to
The mode for both the experimental and control groups is married with 25 and 78.1% of the experimental group being married and 31 and 86.1% of the control group being married.
The five-minute warning bell goes off. I rush to my first class of my junior year, eager to see my classmates, who I was going to spend the rest of the 9 months with. I find myself stumbling into a classroom plastered with decorations of Denzel Washington with a Dr. Seuss book in his hand, a t and college flags galore. My AP English 11 class suddenly seemed so appealing to me. As a beautiful, curly haired short lady stood in front of me and said “Welcome to AP English 11,” I knew that I had found a treasure so much greater than just a pretty classroom. Little did I know, that short lady was going to inspire me throughout my challenge filled second-to-last year of high school.
As the title claims, this article explains how Stephen Curry had the best NBA season of all time. It does so with 3 reasons: He's the only player ever to average 30 points a game while only playing 36 minutes a game, he had the best shooting season ever as well as the fact that he carried his team to a record breaking 73 regular season game wins.
From start to finish, English this year had been unlike any other I had. From start to finish, each and every book had a deeper meaning than I, before, could possibly resolve from the text. The exposure I had to this deeper level of thinking forever changed the way I see literature. Less about “what” than “why”, Literature distinguishes a meaningful story from another. While what makes a book “good” is different for everyone, what makes a story meaningful is what it teaches. Each book I read this year had a story and logic behind it. Every story was real enough to have actually happened because the plot points are supported with real speculation backed up by the nature of humanity. I, personally, have never gone as deep into literature as I have this year, giving me a new appreciation for the genius behind the speculation these books present.
Over the past decades, Globalization had made the world a much smaller place. In the passage While I was Sleeping by Thomas L Freidman and The Rise of the Rest by Fareed Zakaria, there is a connection between the two passage. Thomas L. Freidman use the metaphor "the world is flat" which mean there are many competition in the world now. Fareed Zakaria address the U.S power is diminishing because the rest of the world is catching up. Along with the diminishing power, America is also outsourcing jobs to other nations where labor are cheap, and abundant of natural resource are available for use, but it is taking jobs away from many American.
As far as organization goes for this piece of writing, I would give Kim a 2 for many different reasons. She does have a title (not shown in picture) and shows logic when putting her sentences together. She also has an awesome hook that keeps me interested but her pacing feels extremely awkward. Kim tends to jump from topic to topic in this paragraph and it feels weird reading it aloud. It is easy to tell what the main point is for this writing piece but she should have reread her writing and organized it
