Introduction:

When the rapidly moving meteoroids hit a planetary surface, this causes impact cratering. This is the fourth geologic process that takes place on the surface of the planet. Larger craters generally have central peaks and slump blocks around the rim. They are also covered by a thick blanket of material called ejecta.
