A Company wants to execute a project within 95 weeks. This project includes 10 activities (labeled A, B, .. J), where their precedence relationships are shown in the following table: Predecessor Activity Normal Time(weeks) Time(weeks) (in million S) (in million S) Crash Normal Cost Crash Cost Activity 32 28 160 180 В 28 25 125 146 A 36 31 170 210 D. 16 13 60 72 B. 32 27 135 160 F 54 47 215 257 D 17 15 90 96 H. (c) Which is the critical path and what is its length? (d) Determine the least expensive way to crash activities to reduce overall duration to 95 weeks using Marginal cost analysis.
Critical Path Method
The critical path is the longest succession of tasks that has to be successfully completed to conclude a project entirely. The tasks involved in the sequence are called critical activities, as any task getting delayed will result in the whole project getting delayed. To determine the time duration of a project, the critical path has to be identified. The critical path method or CPM is used by project managers to evaluate the least amount of time required to finish each task with the least amount of delay.
Cost Analysis
The entire idea of cost of production or definition of production cost is applied corresponding or we can say that it is related to investment or money cost.
