1.) Purely consumer product which I am going to choose is Coffee. Coffee is a purely consumer product which we will sell in the markets in the form of coffee powder. This will directly rival the giant company's product already prevailing in the market. I have chosen Coffee as my product because this can be targeted as B2B product quite effectively as coffee and tea are always demanded in the office areas, restaurants, hotels etc. This will widen our business market reach and increase brand awareness. Another plus point behind choosing this product is that coffee has evergreen market which is not affected with seasonal variations.
2.) Instead of offering one variant, we will be making our coffee available in different variants and types. This will cover all types of business and consumer demands that will help our brand to market it as an all-rounder brand.
Here is the Marketing Mix for Coffee as per the B2B needs:
- Product: Our coffee products will be available in tetra packs, do it yourself packs and coffee machines. All these different types of sub-products will be available in different tastes and styles. For Example: Espresso, Cappuccino, etc.
- Place: The tetra pack will cater the needs of business professionals who want to have cold coffee which they can consume any time and any where. Do it yourself pack will satisfy the needs of consumers who want to have hot coffee at anyplace. To make it consumable, customer just has to add hot water into the cup and mix it well and the hot coffee is ready to consume. And the last option is Coffee machines that will be available in restaurants and offices canteens.
- Promotion: We will be using penetrative pricing technique to market our product at lower costs but will superior quality and taste. Instead of heavy advertising we will be promoting our product with direct and personal selling in which our professional sales team will pitch our products in restaurants, cafeterias, corporate offices, etc.
- Price: After through examination and deep study, we will be pricing our product less than that of our competitors. Less price will increase our chances of getting a lead and reducing switching costs. Our main aim will be to earn profits from selling large quantities of orders.
3.) To convert a B2C product into a B2B is not easy but in order to cater the market share and new business reach we can successfully do it with some great marketing techniques and strategies.
- In order to make our product successful in B2B market our team will be offering coffee machines to the corporate houses, cafeterias and restaurants. This will help us to keep a check on our quality and improve quality controls. Moreover, our machines will be equipped with different coffee recipes.
- Personal selling technique will help us target the business consumers effectively as corporate decisions requires deep thinking and consume time. We will actively creating a check list which will be covering and satisfying all the criteria of the B2B customers.
- Making our products available in different variants will increase our brand reach. It is very important for any business to satisfy the needs of different customers. To make our product healthy we will not be using any preservatives in our coffee products.
